Operating your Evaporative Cooler
Always choose a safe location for the appliance, keeping in mind the safety
precautions outlined. Ensure all packaging has been removed from the appliance
before use. This
the appliance requires no installation, it should be used solely as a portable
appliance.
WARNING: Keep all objects at least 1 meter from the front, sides, and
rear of the appliance.
For best operating performance, position the appliance in a location that will
create a ‘flow through’ air effect. The greatest cooling effect will be felt
if the appliance is operated in a partly opened doorway or window with the
‘cool’ conditioned air directed into the room to be cooled. It is important to
also have a door or window partly opened away from the cooler to create this
‘flow through’ effect. On days of high humidity, the cooling effect may be
reduced as the air entering the filter may already be saturated with moisture.
On days like this it may be better to switch the cooling feature OFF and
operate the appliance as a fan only.
Ice boxes
This appliance comes with 2 x ice boxes that you can freeze and put in the
water tank to provide a cooler airflow. Open the ice box lid and pour clean
water up to the max line and put it in the freezer until frozen.
Water tanks
This device comes with a water tank at the bottom of the unit and one on the
top. When Cool mode is switched on, the chilled water from the bottom water
tank is brought up to the top water tank and filters back down into the bottom
tank.
Filling the water tanks
Pull out the water tank from the bottom of the back of the unit. Pour clean
cold water into the water tank, observing the water level indicator in the
bottom front panel. As the bottom tank starts to empty, you can refill it by
adding water to the top tank. Be careful not to spill water onto the control
panel and ensure the bottom tank does not fill past the ‘max’ level.
- The water level of the water tank must be less than ‘max’ when adding water.
- The water level of the water tank must be more than ‘min’ for the cool mode to work.
- Place the included ice packs into the water tank if you want a cooler airflow. Ensure that the water level does not exceed ‘max’ when adding the ice boxes to the water.
Warning: DO NOT add water, when the appliance is on. Do not spill or
allow water to come in contact with the control panel.
Do not overfill past the MAX water indicator mark. Do not allow the combined
use of water and ice to overfill the water reservoir. When moving the
appliance, do so with extreme caution, so as not to spill any water in the
reservoir. The appliance should be moved slowly and in a sideways direction.
Always keep the appliance upright.
