Product Usage Instructions
Mixing Instructions:
- Always wear a NIOSH-approved respirator when handling dry glazes.
- Gently tumble the unopened bag to redistribute materials. Sieving is not necessary.
- Mix one 10 lb bag of dry material into at least 10 pints of water. Stir thoroughly.
- Add additional water until the desired specific gravity is reached. Specific gravity preference will vary between studios, persons, and practices.
- Our recommended specific gravity is in the range of 1.47-1.51. Adjust for different dipping times or layering practices.
Application Instructions:
- Stir well before use.
- Immerse the ware for 1-2 seconds.
- Allow the glaze to dry before applying additional coats if desired.
- When using Stoneware Dry Crystal glazes, pour the glaze over your piece using a cup or ladle.
- While the glaze is wet, use a fan brush to evenly distribute the crystals; avoid heavy crystal loading on the bottom third of your piece.
