eldom KA50 Electric Coffee Maker

SAFETY

Please read all these instructions carefully before using this appliance.

  1. Plug the power cord only to a wall socket equipped with an earthing pin and with parameters compliant with those in the instructions
  2. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains by pulling the plug, not the power cord.
  3. Pay attention not to add too many receivers to one power circuit.
  4. 4. Do not operate the appliance in the open air.
  5. Do not place the appliance near sources of heat.
  6. Place the appliance on a stable and dry surface.
  7. Before turning on the appliance, make sure that there is wa-ter in the jug. Do not operate the appliance without water.
  8. Do not pour water above the valve (8) level. Excessive water level may cause hot water flow out uncontrollably (hazard of short circuit due to submerging of electrical connections).
  9. Unplug the appliance when it is not in use and before cle-aning.
  10. Do not carry or move the appliance during use.
  11. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance.
  12. The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and older, by persons with limited physical and mental capabilities, and by persons who have no experience nor knowledge of the equipment, only under supervision or if instructed on the safe use of the appliance in way that guarantees that the associated risks are understood. Children shall not play with the appliance. Children should not clean nor maintain the appliance without supervision.
  13. Never leave the appliance unattended.
  14. The jug can pose hazards to children when left unattended while plugged in or if filled with hot water.
  15. Do not hold the appliance with wet hands.
  16. Do not immerse the appliance in water during cleaning.
  17. Use only the supplied original accessories.
  18. Pay attention to the scalding steam escaping from the appliance while cooking.
  19. The appliance is designed for household use only. Industrial use, misuse or failure to observe these instructions will ren-der the warranty null and void and will waive the liability of the seller.
  20. To avoid any risks, if the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced with a new one at an authorized Manufacturer’s Servicing Point. The list of Servicing Points can be found in the attachment and on www.eldom.eu.
  21. The appliance can be repaired only at an authorized servicing centre. Any upgrades or the use of non-original spare parts or components is forbidden and poses a  hazard for the user.
  22. Eldom Sp. z o. o. is not liable for any damage resulting from improper use of the appliance.
    WARNING: Plastic bag can be dangerous, to avoid danger of suffocation keep this bag away from babies and children.

INTENDED USE
KA50 stovetop coffee maker is intended for making coffee.

USE
Before first use, thoroughly wash the inside of the container (9), jug (3), filter (4), gasket (5), reducer (6) and funnel (7) with warm water. Make a small amount of coffee and pour it out. Repeat.

OPERATION

  • Place the base (10) on a flat, stable surface. Set the switch (11) to “0” and connect the device to the mains.
  • Make sure that the appliance is cold, hold the container (9) with one hand and unscrew the jug (3) by turning it counter-clockwise
  • Remove the reducer (6) and the funnel (7), and pour the water into the container (9). CAUTION. Do not pour water above the valve (8) level.
  • Do not pour hot water to speed up coffee making.
  • Place the container (9) on a flat surface and insert the funnel (7) with the tube facing down.
  • Fill the entire funnel (7) with coffee or insert the reducer (6) into the funnel (7) and fill the entire reducer with coffee.
  • Do not squeeze in the coffee – just make sure that its surface is flat.
  • Remove excess coffee from the funnel (7) rim Make sure that the filter (4) and the gasket (5) are well attached to the bottom of the jug (3), and tighten the jug (3) onto the container (9) by turning it clockwise, until the gasket prevents further tightening.
  • Place the assembled set on the base (10) and turn the button (11).
  • When the coffee is being made, you will hear steam flowing into to the jug (3). After a few minutes the noise will calm down. Your coffee is ready!
  • Remove the coffee maker from the base (10) by holding the jug handle (3), and pour the coffee into cups.
  • Place the device back on the base (10).

NOTE : Do not turn on the device if there is no water in the container.
Do not use the coffee maker without the filter (4).
NOTE: use coffee for MOKA stovetop makers – medium grind and of good quality.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Do not wash the appliance parts in a dishwasher.
  • Before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug and leave to cool.
  • Do not immerse the base (10) nor the container (9) in water. Clean with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not clean with aggressive agents. Do not use abrasive cleaners – they might damage the body of the appliance.
  • During each cleaning make sure that the holes in the filter (4) and in the reducer (6) are not clogged. If necessary, clear them with a pin.
  • Regularly inspect the condition of the funnel (7) and gasket (5). If there are any visible signs of wear or damage, replace the worn out/damaged component with a new one.
  • For cleaning, remove the gasket (5) and the filter (4) from underneath the jug (3) and thoroughly wash the nozzle (2).
  • Once a month remove the sediment from the appliance by using cleaning agents available on the market (e.g. citric acid or tartaric acid).

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The appliance is made of materials that can be recovered or recycled. The blanket should be handed over to the appropriate centre of collection and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

  • it is not intended for professional purposes.

The disposal of used electrical and electronic equipment (applies to European Union countries and other European countries with separate waste- collection systems).

must be handed over to restrict their re-use and further treatment. If the device contains batteries, remove them, and hand them over to a storage point separately.
