The wiring included with each component of your kit is only used when
installed in applications where our “plug and play” kit harnesses are not
being used.

STEP 1 / DISASSEMBLY
Remove all factory dash and vehicle panels necessary for installation. You
will need to remove all panels necessary to access the inside of the dash,
battery location and factory wiring channel between dash and battery. Refer to
the installation manual included with your vehicle-specific front speaker pods
for more information on your specific vehicle.
STEP 2 / SUBWOOFER INSTALLATION
If installing a CORE 2+ or CORE 4+ kit with a vehicle-specific powered
subwoofer, install the subwoofer first. If you do not have a subwoofer
included in your kit, skip to STEP 4.
Follow the mounting instructions included with your vehicle-specific subwoofer
and tighten all fasteners securely.
Run the RCAs and blue wire from subwoofer amp to center of dash location and
secure with zip ties.
The large main power harness will run down the factory wiring. Chase directly
to the battery and secure to factory harnesses with the included zip ties.
Make battery connections: Red to battery (+) terminal / Black to battery (–)
terminal.
If desired, mount wired level control in a pocket or under a dash panel and
plug into 3.5mm input on powered subwoofer. STEP 3 / REAR SPEAKER PODS
If installing a CORE 4 or CORE 4+ system with rear speaker pods, install the
rear speakers next. If not, skip to Step 4.
Mount the MXA62PS rear speaker pods to the roll cage in the rear of the
vehicle using the clamp hardware included with the speakers. Certain models
include a vehicle- pecific rear mounting bracket. If a vehicle-specific rear
mounting bracket is included with your model, use that bracket instead of the
hardware that comes with the MXA62PS speakers.
Use the included MXASSKITRRHR rear speaker harness to connect rear speakers.
Use the end of the harness with individual color-coded 2 pin waterproof
connectors and 4 pin RGB connectors and connect 1 to each speaker. Green to
the left rear speaker and Purple to the right rear speaker. Run the harness
forward down the factory wiring channel to the center dash location and secure
with included zip ties.
STEP 4 / FRONT SPEAKER POD INSTALLATION
Follow the instructions included with your vehicle-specific front speaker pods
and secure them accordingly. Run wiring pigtails from each speaker to the
center dash location and secure with zip ties.
STEP 5 / POWER HARNESS TO BATTERY
Run the main radio power harness to the battery and connect.
This is the yellow/black power harness included with the MXASSKITMCPWR harness
kit.
Use the ring terminals on the harness connector to the battery: Yellow to the
battery (+) terminal / Black to battery (-) terminal.
Run another end of the harness to the center of dash location using the
factory wiring channel and secure with zip ties.
NOTE: Pull fuse from a yellow wire at battery until installation is
complete.
STEP 6 / MOUNTING KNOCK-OUT IN DASH CONTROLLER INCLUDED WITH SMC2A APP
RADIO
Mount the included knock-out controller in one of the factory knock-out
locations in the dash and run the remainder of the wire to the center dash
location and secure any excess with zip ties. This controller is NOT required
for the operation of the SMC2A head unit as all functions can be controlled
via the app. However, we recommend installing this unit to give you easy
access control to basic system functions. STEP 7 / MOUNTING SMC2A HIDE AWAY BLACK BOX SOURCE
UNIT
Using the included self-tapping screws, secure the black box to factory
framework behind center dash location, making sure all harnesses and pigtails
are accessible.
STEP 8 / CONNECTING THE SMC2A BLACK BOX SOURCE UNIT
Plug large white 12-pin main radio harness to the corresponding plug on Black
box radio. Then connect the color-coded speaker connectors, RGB connectors,
2-pin power connector and antenna connection. (If installing a Core2+ or
Core4+ system with a subwoofer, connect RCAs from the subwoofer to the RCA
subwoofer outputs of the Black box and connect the blue wire from the powered
subwoofer to the blue wire on main radio harness with the included waterproof
connector).
Plug the dash remote connectors into the corresponding connectors on the black
box.
Run the red wire and secure to an accessory or ignition source. See wiring
instructions included in your product manual.
STEP 9 / POWERING UP AND TESTING
Once all connections are made, and double-checked for accuracy and fitment,
put the fuse back in the fuse holder at the battery and secure the waterproof
cover.
Turn on the ignition. The unit should power up and you should see the in-dash
controller light up.
Follow the instructions in the SMC2A source unit manual included with your kit
for operation and testing.
STEP 10 / CLEANING & REASSEMBLY
Once you have tested the unit for functionality and everything is operating
correctly, secure any loose wires with zip ties and reassemble the vehicle.
