  16. For best results, your battery and tool should be stored, charged, and used in a location where the temperature is more than 5°C (41°F) but less than 40°C (104°F). Do not store outside or in vehicles.
    DANGER: People with electronic devices, such as pacemakers, should consult their physician(s) before using this product. The operation of electrical equipment in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the pacemaker.

ASSEMBLY

WARNING: If any part is broken or missing, DO NOT attach the battery pack or operate the device until the broken or missing part is replaced. Failure to do so could result in possible serious injury.
WARNING: Do not attempt to modify this device or create accessories not recommended for use with this device. Any such alteration or modification is misused and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious injury.

UNPACKING

  1. Carefully remove the device and any accessories from the carton. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included.
  2. Inspect the device carefully to make sure that no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
  3. Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the device.

OPERATION

ATTACHING BATTERY PACK (FIG.1)

CAUTION: Always switch off the unit before removing the battery pack. Align the raised rib on the battery pack with the grooves in the unit, and then slide the battery pack onto the unit.
NOTICE: When placing the battery pack onto the unit, be sure that the raised rib on the battery pack aligns with the groove inside the unit and that the latches snap into place properly. Improper attachment of the battery pack can cause damage to internal components.

DETACHING BATTERY PACK (FIG. 1)
Depress the battery-release button to release the battery pack. Pull the battery pack out and remove it from the unit.

INSTALLING COIN CELL BATTERY (FIG. 2)

WARNING: Danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced. When replacing the battery, replace it with the same or equivalent type CR2032. Observe correct polarity (+ and –) when replacing batteries. Do not store or carry batteries in such a way that metal objects can contact exposed battery terminals. Your unit is equipped with a memory function in order to store the time and your preset radio stations. When the unit is in the OFF position, this memory function is powered by one coin cell battery that is included with the unit.

  1. Loosen the two screws on the battery door counterclockwise with a Philips screwdriver (not included) to remove the screws and the battery door.
  2. Install the coin cell battery observing the correct polarity.
  3. Replace the battery door, insert the screws and tighten it clockwise.

**DANGER:** Do not ingest the battery. Chemical burn hazard. This product contains a coin cell battery. If the coin cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

USING INCLUDED AC POWER ADAPTOR (FIG. 3)

Open the dust protection cover on the right side of the radio, and insert the AC power adaptor plug into the DC socket. Plug the adaptor into a standard power outlet. Whenever the adaptor is used, the battery pack is automatically disconnected. The AC power adaptor should be disconnected from the power outlet when not in use.
NOTE: The battery pack cannot be charged by using the power adaptor. The battery pack can only be charged using chargers specified earlier in this manual. After using AC power adaptor, replace the dust protection cover to protect the DC socket against dust, dirt, or moisture.

POSITIONABLE FLEXIBLE ANTENNA
To decrease interference or static noise, rotate the antenna or move the unit to a higher elevation. The antenna folds down and out of the way when not in use.

INTENDED USE
This unit is intended:
– for reception and playback of AM and FM radio stations,
– for auxiliary (AUX) audio playback from other audio devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, CD players etc.,
– for audio playback via Bluetooth® from compatible devices such as cell phones,
– for charging portable devices via USB-A or Type-C charging ports when the unit is connected to included AC power adaptor or installed battery pack.

ON / OFF SWITCH (FIG. 4)
Switching on:
Briefly press the On/Off/Volume knob ** and the unit switches on. The display will show “Welcome” and after 1 second will shift to the operation mode.
Switching off:**
Press the On/Off/ Volume knob and hold for 2 seconds. The display will show “Power off” and the unit will turn off within a second.

STANDBY MODE (FIG. 5)
When the unit is switched on, briefly press the On/Off/Volume knob , the unit switches to standby mode.
When the unit is in standby mode, all audio output will stop. Only the display will continue showing the time and date, but the display brightness will dim after 30 seconds. Briefly press the On/Off/Volume knob
to return to full operating mode.
NOTICE: When in standby mode, the unit will turn off automatically after 1 hour of inactivity. When the unit is in standby mode, the USB charging ports can still be used to charge portable devices.

In any operating mode, press the CLOCK button for 2 seconds to set the time. The numbers blink in this order: hour>minute>month>date>year. Press the button or rotate the On/ Off/Volume knob to change each value. Press the button to switch to the next setting.
To save time on settings press the **** button again. If you don’t press it again and don’t press any other button for 10 seconds, the procedure is interrupted and the changes you have made are discarded.

SETTING THE VOLUME (FIG. 6)
To increase the volume, rotate the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise. To decrease it, turn the knob counterclockwise.
Briefly press the button to mute the sound. Briefly press the button again or rotate the On/Off/Volume knob to unmute the sound.

BASS BOOST (FIG. 7)
The low frequency (bass) boost can be turned on or off:
Briefly press the BASS button. When the bass boost function is on, the Bass symbol lights up.

SELECTING THE OPERATING MODE (FIG. 8)

To select the operating mode, briefly press the MODE button several times until the desired mode is displayed. The following operating modes are available:
– FM Radio reception
– AM Radio reception
– Playback of audio content via Bluetooth®
– Playback of audio content via AUX cable The modes switch in the following order FM ⇒AM ⇒BT ⇒AUX .
The active operating mode is shown by a corresponding symbol on the top of the display (FM, AM, etc.)

BLUETOOTH® OPERATING MODE (FIG. 9)

Activate the Bluetooth® operating mode with the MODE button or press the Bluetooth® button. Activate the Bluetooth® function on the device to be connected  smartphone or similar) and select “MASTER FORCE RADIO” as the target of the Bluetooth® connection.
For this purpose, follow the instructions in the operating manual of the paired device(smartphone or similar). Press the button to change to previous or next song.
Press the
button to pause or play.
NOTE: To disconnect (forget) the Bluetooth® device after successful pairing, press the button and hold for 2 seconds. The paired device will get disconnected. When in Bluetooth® operating mode, the unit will turn off automatically after 1 hour of inactivity.

AUX OPERATING MODE (FIG. 10)
Select the AUX operating mode using the MODE button. Open the dust protection cover and connect an external audio source (MP3 player or similar) to the AUX input port of the unit using the included AUX cable. Switch on the external audio source and start the playback. Set the volume with the regulator for the connected audio device or the volume knob of the unit.
NOTE:
– Batteries of the connected devices cannot be charged via the AUX input port.
– When the unit is switched off, the connected devices are not switched off.
– After using the AUX input port, replace the dust protection cover to protect the port against dust, dirt, or moisture.

CHARGING EXTERNAL DEVICES VIA THE USB-A AND TYPE-C PORTS (FIG. 10)

When a battery pack is installed or the unit is connected to the AC power adaptor and the unit is turned on, the USB-A and Type-C charging ports will supply power for low-power devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, etc. Immediately disconnect the devices after charging. Replace the dust protection cover to protect the ports from dust, dirt, and moisture.
NOTE: The USB-A and Type-C charging ports cannot be used for audio playback. Audio playback is only possible via Bluetooth ® or AUX connection.

TUNING AM AND FM
The buttons and the MODE button are used to tune to the desired radio frequency. The selected frequency is shown on the display.
Press the MODE button until AM or FM is highlighted.
Manual tuning: Briefly press the
button to set the desired frequency. Each press will increase or decrease the frequency- cy by 0.1MHz for FM, and 10kHz for AM. The frequency is shown on the display.
Scan tuning : Press the button and hold for 2 seconds, the tuner frequency will increase to seek the first radio station with a strong signal and stop at that station.
The frequency is shown on the display. The right arrow button ****
may be pressed for 2 seconds again to continue seeking a radio station at higher frequencies. The left arrow
button **** may be pressed to seek radio stations at lower frequencies.

PROGRAMMING AM/FM STATIONS IN PRESET STORE

To program radio stations in preset store
(FIG. 11)
– Tune to the desired radio station and press the PRESET button for 2 seconds to enter “Preset Store”
– Press the button or rotate the knob to select the programmed location, e.g., “10”
– Press the ** button to save it, “P10” is shown on the display.
NOTE:** You can store up to 10 radio stations. If you select a programmed location that is already programmed, the station will be replaced by the station you are tuned to.

To recall the stored stations
– Press the PRESET button to enter “Preset Recall”
– Press the button or rotate the knob to find the desired programmed radio station, e.g., “P10”
– Press the
button to confirm. “P10” station will be played.

To store and recall stations in quick-access presets (FIG. 12).
Additionally, the unit features five quick access preset buttons (1 – 5) that allow user to quickly store and recall 5 stations in FM and 5 in AM wavebands.
NOTE: The memory presets P01, P02, P03, P04, and P05 are the same whether they were programmed using preset store or quick-access preset buttons. To store the current radio station, press and hold the desired quick-access preset button (1-5) until the preset number is shown on the display. The station is then stored under the selected quick-access preset button. Repeat this procedure for the remaining quick-access presets. Stations stored in the preset memory can be overwritten by following the procedures described above. To recall stations from the preset memories, briefly press the desired quick- access preset button while the unit is in radio mode. The preset number and station frequency will appear on the display.

SYSTEM MENU SETTING
In any operating mode, press the MODE button and hold down for 2 seconds to enter the System Menu. While in System Menu you can reset the unit to factory settings (Factory Reset). Or look up the firmware version (SW Version).
Briefly press the MODE button to exit System Menu and return to the last active operating mode.

FACTORY RESET (FIG. 13)
If your radio fails to operate or some information on the display is missing or incomplete, carry out the following procedure:

– Press and hold the MODE button down for 2 seconds to enter System Menu. “System” will appear on the display.
– Press the button to see “Factory Reset” on the display.
– Press the
button to see “No” and “Yes” on the display.
– Press the button or rotate knob until the display shows a bracket around , then press the **** button to confirm the setting. After selecting Factory Reset/Yes, your radio will reset and switch off automatically.

SW VERSION (FIG. 14)
The software display cannot be altered and is just for your reference.
– Press and hold the MODE button down for 2 seconds to enter the System Menu. “System” will appear on the display.
– Press the button to see “Factory Reset” on the display.
– Press the
button or rotate the knob to find “SW Version” on the display, then press the **** button. The software version will show on the display.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the radio when cleaning or performing any maintenance. Contact a qualified service technician for all repairs.
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. For more information, call the toll-free helpline, at 1-866-917-4374.
WARNING: Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Using compressed air may be the most effective cleaning method. Always wear safety goggles when cleaning tools with compressed air.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The unit does not work. The battery pack charge is depleted. Charge the

battery pack.
The unit cannot properly pair with a Bluetooth° device.| Out of Bluetooth° pairing range.| Move your Bluetooth° device closer to the unit.
Wrong steps performed during pairing process| Refer to the “BLUETOOTH° OPERATING MODE” chapter and properly pair the Bluetooth° device to the unit.
The unit lost clock memory and preset stations after the battery pack is removed.| The coin cell battery is depleted.| Replace the cell battery.
