Installation

Intended use
The K300 device is an Access Control device designed to be used in conjunction
with the TU700 and mounted in or on vehicles depending on the type of
equipment (including heavy equipment, service vans, trailers, etc.) and
structures (including containers).
The K300 provides access control to vehicles and machines via digital key,
access card or Pin codes.
Foreseeable misuse
- The device is not intended for equipment other than heavy equipment, service vans, trailers and structures like containers.
- The device is not for use in an explosive atmosphere.
- Do not use as a door access control system.
- Do not connect the K300 to any device other than the Trackunit TU700.
Use location
The device is for commercial or industrial usage and is expected to be
installed in locations where only adults are normally present. This device is
for indoor and outdoor installation. The device may also be installed inside
moving vehicles. The device may not be submerged in water.
The device must be installed in accordance with any local regulations that
applies. Method of mounting shall be suitable for the location.
The device is neither intended for high vibration use nor high temperature
range applications.

WARNING: Improperly securing the device and the attached cable may be hazardous.
Install the device where there is no immediate risk of impact. During
installation, you must account for vehicle vibrations and friction when
securing the K300 and its attached cable.
Screws or fittings to fix the device object to the wall / ceiling are not
included in the scope of supply. Please choose screws and fittings that are
specially suited to the material in the wall / ceiling and have sufficient
holding power.
Do not mount the device in a high vibration environment.
During installation, you must securely fasten the device and cable away from
any moving parts.
CAUTION: Installation inside a moving vehicle.
- Do not attempt to install the device if the vehicle is moving or operational.
- Do not attempt to install the device in a way that obstructs the view of the driver, or impair his/her movement.
- Do not install close to wiring of a vehicle.
- Do not place directly beside the cable harness of the vehicle.
- Do not secure the device to the gear shift, steering wheel, gas pedal, or the brake pedal.
- Securely fasten the device and cable away from space reserved for either the vehicle occupants or air bags.
- Do not secure the device where it will obstruct the driver’s limbs. Do not secure the device in front of the air bags or other safety measures.
CAUTION
Take care of your posture when installing the device. Be aware of your
surroundings within the vehicle, and the installer’s ergonomic positioning
when installing the device.
Do not install in hard to reach areas.
CAUTION
This device is not a toy and should be kept away from animals and children.
WARNING: Improper fitting during installation may lead to hazardous situation.
Only an installer authorized by Trackunit should install this device.
Trackunit does not take responsibility for devices installed by non-Trackunit
authorised personnel.
Incorrect installation that allows for movement or places the device/cable
under undue stress can cause the device casing to open accidentally. An open
casing may lead to water ingress causing the device to fail. Ensure proper
fitting of the housing and cable connector, there shall be no visible gaps in
the housing and cable connector.
CAUTION: Risk of Electric Shock
Do not handle the device if the wire or device appears damaged. Safely power down and disconnect the device before handling.
CAUTION: Status LED
Do not check the status LED while operating the vehicle. Only check the status
LED when the vehicle is parked safely and turned off.
WARNING: Distracted driving
Do not install the device in a way that can distract the driver of the
vehicle.
Do not install the device so that the LED is directly in the driver’s line of
sight
CAUTION: Risk of Ingress of Water
- Mount the device using screws to maintain IP rating.
- Allow the device to reach the same temperature as the water, before cleaning.
- Do not wash or clean a hot device with water colder than the device.
- Do not pressure clean.
- Do not clean with chemicals.
WARNING: Modification of device may cause a hazard!
Changes or modifications made to this device not expressly approved by
Trackunit are not permitted and may void the FCC authorization (FCC part
15.21) and other authorizations to operate the device. Unauthorized
modifications can destabilize the device and increase the risk of overheating,
fire, and explosion.
CAUTION: Hot Surface
Direct sunlight or warm temperatures can make the surface of the K300 hot to
the touch. Use gloves to touch the device.
CAUTION: Disposal
Safely decommission the device in an appropriate way in accordance with local
laws. Contact Trackunit directly for further help if necessary.

Do not open the device as it will void warranty
Do not attempt to repair the device or exchange the batter.
If there are any safety concerns, disconnect the device from the vehicle, and
contact Trackunit directly.
