PATIO SCREEN PANEL INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
FOR SCREENS WITH SIDE ADJUST ROLLERS
Before starting, please read instructions completely.
-
Clean sill track and head frame channel of your patio door where screen panel will slide.
-
Determine the side of screen panel that will fdce inside (slide/toggle button of latch goes inside).
-
Insert two plastic guides into top of screen panel, one at each end between the roller location and top corner of panel.
NOTE : These guides MAY NOT be supplied with your screen panel type. -
Position screen panel into door by lifting it up into door frame head channel, and swinging the bottom of panel over top of, and down onto, door sill roller track. If your door contains a vinyl bug seal, trimming may be necessary to achieve a proper fit and smooth rolling of screen.
-
Slide the screen panel. If it doesn’t slide smoothly, adjust rollers at bottom and/or top with the roller adjustment screws, located at side edges of screen at top and bottom (if screen contains bug seal, peel it away from screen a few inches at top and bottom to adjust screws, then reinsert). Turning screws clockwise increases the screen height. Adjust bottom rollers so that reveal (which is the distance between the edge of the screen panel and the door frame jamb) is the same at top and bottom (if screen contains bug seal, peel it away from screen a few inches at top and bottom to adjust screws, then reinsert). Turning screws clockwise increases the screen height. Adjust bottom rollers so that reveal (which is the distance between the edge of the screen panel and the door frame jamb) is the same at top and bottom. Adjust rollers at top so that screen is snug enough to stay on the track, but loose enough to slide freely.
NOTE : If desired, sill roller track can be lubricated with a silicone based lubricant. DO NOT use oil based lubricants on sill track.
Determine it strike flange should be positioned facing up or down (this may depend upon your door handing). The most favourable position is with strike flange extending up so that when screen is closed the slide button is moved downward to latch the screen panel.
SCREEN PANEL STRIKE
NOTE : STRIKE SUPPLIED MAY VARY FROM ONE SHOWN.
- Close the screen into the door frame jamb and mark position to install the strike.
- If pre-drilled holes already exist in door frame, install strike into them with (2) screws supplied. If no holes exist, drill (2) 1/16″ diameter holes into frame to install strike. Strike is slotted, for adjusting up and down. Adjust the strike so that positive latching occurs BEFORE tightening strike screws.
