Important Information, Tools required and Technical Support

Please read the following instructions carefully.
Keep this instruction manual and save for future reference.
Tools required: Phillips head screwdriver, wrench and drill (not included).

Keep small parts away from children.
Adult assembly required.
Fits openings from 28″ (71cm) – 42″ (106.6 cm) wide.

WARNING

Children have died or been seriously injured when gates are not securely installed.

  • Intended for use with children from 6 months through 24 months.
  • Stop using when a child can climb over or dislodge the gate.
  • Use only with the locking/latching mechanism securely engaged.
  • Check daily that gate components are securely attached to the wall.
  • NEVER use a gate to keep child away from pool.
  • NEVER leave child unattended.
  • ALWAYS close and lock the gate behind you.
  • This product will not necessarily prevent all accidents. Proper adult supervision is required at all times.
  • Do not use if any components are missing or damaged.
  • Adult assembly required. Exercise care when unpacking and assembling product.

IMPORTANT:
At the top of the landing, position the gate a minimum of 3-6 inches (8-1 Scm) away from the top step.

IMPORTANT:
If baseboard exists, use Short Hinge Bracket on bottom and Large Hinge Bracket on top. If there is no baseboard, use both Long Hinge Brackets.

IMPORTANT:
If mounting into wallboard, use a 7/32″ (5.5 mm) drill bit for the pilot holes and the Wall Anchors provided (part K). If mounting on wood, use a 3/32″ (2.4 mm) drill-bit to pre-drill.

Pre-drill holes into wall. With the template, still in place, attach Hinge Brackets with 2 Long Screws (Part J).

Remove precision fit template.

Gate Installation

Screw Bolt Assemblies all the way into the top and bottom of the gate.

Tighten tension nuts with the provided wrench.

Line the Bolt Assembly up with the hinge as shown. Bolt can only go into hinges one way. Drop the gate into the Upper and Lower Hinge Brackets.

Unfasten binding  posts with Phillips head screwdriver. Save binding posts for Step 9.

IMPORTANT:

Be sure the doorstopper is on the stairway side of gate so the gate can not open over the stairs. If there is baseboard, use Large Top Latch Catch. If there is no baseboard, Small Top Catch.

IMPORTANT: Be sure the doorstopper is on the stairway side of gate so the gate can not open over the stairs. If there is baseboard, use Large Top Latch Catch. If there is no baseboard, Small Top Catch.

Gate Installation

Place the Top Latch catch on the wall so that the arrow is over the area where the pin was marked on the wall.

Mark with a pencil through the screw holes in the Top Latch Catch.

Pre-drill pilot holes using a 3/32 (2.4 mm) drill bit.

Attach the Top Latch Catch using 2 long Screws (part L) If attaching to a wall a baseboard, use the Large Top Latch Catch (part C)

Repeat this step with Bottom Latch Catch.

Once the gate is extended fully, adjust gate sections so the holes line up on the top and bottom of the gate. Screw the binding posts at the top and bottom of the gate closest to the Latch side.

Proceed to tighten the nuts on the bolt assemblies with a wrench.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be certain to never allow a gap between sides  of the gate and opening or bottom of the gate and floor to exceed 3″. Once the gate is in place check to make sure that it is properly secured.

Swing Gate closed, until the handle is engaged.

There should be 1/16″ (1 .6 mm) space between the Gate and the Bottom Latch Catch.

Adjust Support Foot. It should be gently contacting the floor when gate is closed.

Gate Operation

To Open:

Pull back button, lift and open Gate.

To Close:

Push Gate until handle engages & locks in Top and Bottom Latch Catch.

To Remove Gate From Opening

Swing gate open until it is perpendicular to opening and lift gate out of hinge brackets.

Maintenance

  • Check all hardware to ensure gate is securely in place. Regularly check the bolts are not loose.
  • Do not use gate if any of the components are damaged or missing.
  • Wipe surface with a damp cloth or sponge, using mild detergent and warm water to clean. Towel dry.
