INITIAL USE
Step 1: Inserting the batteries
- Before using the Corefit I for the first time, you must insert the batteries into the control unit.
- To do this, pull the device out of the holder, remove the battery compartment lid and insert the batteries into the battery compartment as indicated by the markings.
- Ensure that the correct battery polarity is observed.
If the “battery symbol” in the display is flashing, the batteries are dead and need to be replaced.
Step 2: Putting on the belt
Before each training session, ensure that your skin is clean and free of
creams and oils so that the device will have the best possible effect. Po-
sition the belt in front of you with the electrodes facing towards your body.
Moisten the electrodes and your stomach with water. Ensure that the surface of
the electrodes is evenly moistened to avoid isolated spikes in voltage on your
skin during the training session. Place the belt around your waist so that the
electrodes are in contact with your stomach. Now close the hook-and-loop
fastener.
If the belt is too short, you can extend it using the hook-and-loop extension.
Step 3: Switching on the device and starting the program
Press the power button to switch on the device. The LCD display lights up.
When the device is started for the first time, the first program is
automatically displayed (P-01). You can change the program by briefly pressing
the power button. There are nine programs in total to choose from. After the
last program (P-09), the device starts the program selection sequence from the
beginning.
The intensity level can be adjusted from 0 to 40. At the beginning of the
training program, you will feel a slight tingling sensation. As the intensity
increases, you will feel your muscles contracting directly under the
electrodes and in the surrounding area.
When you change the program or restart the training, the intensity automatically in-creases to the one set for the last training session.
USAGE
What do I need to bear in mind
when training with the Corefit I?
- Train no more than three times a week.
- Take breaks and give your body at least 48 hours to recover.
- Do not train for longer than 20 to 30 minutes per unit, depending on the selected load on your muscles and intensity.
- Listen to your body and know your limits.
- Drink plenty of water.
- We recommend using an Antelope electrode contact agent, especially if you suffer from dry skin.
Setting the intensity level
You can set your preferred intensity level at the start of each training
session. Press the plus button to increase the intensity and the minus button
to reduce the intensity. Depending on the intensity, you will first feel a
tingling sensation, followed by muscle contractions later on. Never set the
intensity to a level that is beyond your comfort zone.
The intensity can only be adjusted when the electrodes are in contact with your skin. If they lose contact with the skin during the training session, the intensity level will automatically drop to zero.
Stopping pulses that are too strong
You can reduce the intensity at any time by pressing the minus button or
switch off the device again by pressing the power button (~ 2 seconds). If you
remove the belt from your stomach, meaning the electrodes lose contact with
the skin, the intensity level will automatically return to zero. Voltage will
no longer be applied when they come into contact with the skin again.
Preventing unwanted pulse changes
To prevent unintentional increases in intensity during a training session,
simply switch on the button lock. To do this, press and hold the power button
for approx. 3 seconds until the “ ” symbol appears on the display. To cancel
the button lock, press and hold the power button again for approx. 3 seconds
until the symbol disappears.
Reacting to unpleasant sensations
If you feel a twinge or itching on your skin or if you notice only tingling
instead of muscle con-tractions, switch off the device and proceed as follows:
- Check that the electrodes are OK and do not show any signs of damage.
- Check that the round cover is still on the elec-trode connections.
- Take the belt off and moisten the electrodes again thoroughly.
- When you put it back on, ensure that there is good contact with the skin and that the skin is damp.
Taking a break during the training session
If you want to take a break while a program is run-ning, briefly press the
power button. The pause symbol will appear on the display. You can con-tinue
your training by pressing the button again.
Flexible use of the control unit with-out the belt
With the accessory set (not included in delivery), you can additionally attach
two adhesive elec-trodes to the control unit for flexible muscle stim-ulation.
You can obtain the accessory set from our Customer Services team or the beurer
online shop.
Automatic switch-off
If the device is switched on and then not used, it will switch itself off
automatically after 5 minutes.
PROGRAMS
The intensity
The intensity determines the pulse strength, i.e. how much electric charge
flows in a certain pe-riod of time. The higher the intensity, the more muscle
fibres will be trained.
*The frequency
The frequency determines how often an electrical pulse occurs within a certain
period of time. In turn, this determines how often individual muscle fibres
contract. You cannot change this value in the Antelope programs.
*The pulse length (pulse duration)
The pulse length or pulse duration denotes the time during which electrical
pulses flow into the muscles. The longer this time is, the more inten-sively
and deeply the muscles will be trained.
*Duty cycle
The stimulation interval, also known as the duty cycle, determines the ratio
between the stimula-tion phases and pauses during a training session. Some EMS
programs require these pauses for your muscles.
Programs with a duty cycle
Some programs require a stimulation interval. This could be as follows:
Example: You select a program with the duty cy-cle “4 sec ON, 4 sec OFF”. As
such, it will run at a repeating interval of four seconds of stimulation and
four seconds of pause.
Programs without a duty cycle
Some programs do not have a duty cycle. In such cases, your muscles will be
continuously stimulated.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Always remove the batteries from the device before cleaning.
- Clean the device with a slightly damp cloth. If it is very dirty, you can also moisten the cloth with a mild soapy solution.
- Do not drop the device.
- Ensure that no water enters the device. If this happens, only use the device again once it has fully dried out.
- Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
- The belt is not machine-washable. Once you have removed the device (control unit) from the belt, you can wipe down the belt with lukewarm water. Use a mild soapy solution or liquid detergent for this. Do not use bleach.
