SHERPA 581040 Window Panel Traction Board Mounts
HARDWARE CHECKLIST
Exact hardware color counts may vary based on the options selected at checkout.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
It is highly encouraged that all accessories on the window panel are installed
while the panel is off of the vehicle. This makes it much easier to position
the part and tighten down fasteners.
Setup
Install the locking pins from your traction board manufacturer on the Sherpa Traction Board Mounts using the hardware that was supplied with the kit. Adjust the pins in the slots so that the pins will fit in the holes in the traction board.
Install 01
Line the traction board mounts up with the designated holes in the window
panel. Pictured is a 5th Gen 4Runner window panel, but all panels will have
similar holes or slots that the traction board mounts utilize. These locations
have been specifically placed in order to allow clearance between the door of
the vehicle and the tip of the traction board. Install 02
Required Components:
- 8 1/4”- 20 x 1” Hex bolt
- 8 1/4”- 20 Nylock nut
- 16 1/4” Flat washer
Place your traction board over the pins to ensure fitment. If the pins do not
fall into the holes in the traction board, make the appropriate adjustments in
the traction board mounts. If adjustments are needed, it is preferable to
slide the board backwards toward the rear of the vehicle as opposed to
forward. This is to ensure that the rear door is unobstructed.
Once the traction board mounts are in the right locations, secure them down
using the supplied hex bolts, NY lock nuts, and flat washers as shown in the
image below.
Note that the bolts are inserted from the back side of the panel so that the
excess threads and nuts are facing away from the glass of the window once
mounted.
Install 03
Attach the traction boards as a final verification that the mounts are in
the correct location. Hold the assembly up to the vehicle where it will be
mounted and visually confirm that the vehicle door will have the clearance to
open.
Once the traction board mounts are installed, ensure all fasteners are tight. The window panel is now ready to be installed on the vehicle.
