- Apply load to the product correctly:
• Make sure that the load applied to the product is always longitudinal. The breaking load is specified for longitudinal load.
• Do not use 2 carabiners in an end connection.
This causes transversal load to the product.
• Do a check of the load on the product in the selected configuration and make sure that there is not too much load. A safety factor ≥7 is recommended.
• The work positioning system must have an anchor point in a position vertically above the operator.
• Prevent rope slack between the anchor point and the operator. Always keep the work positioning system in tension.
• If the product is subject to a fall, take it out of service immediately. Refer to To take the product out of service on page 7.
Type A and Type B ropes
The product Climbing Rope Ascend 11.0 mm, Climbing Rope 11.5/11.8 mm is a Type
A rope.
The performance requirements of Type B ropes are lower than those for Type A
ropes. A Type B rope requires more protection against damages, such as the
effects of friction, cuts and general wear. With a Type B rope, maximum
caution is necessary to prevent a fall. Type A ropes are more suitable for
rope-assisted work or work positioning than Type B ropes.

from the date of manufacture.
The service life of a product with end connections is a maximum of 7 years
from the day the product is removed from the package. This is valid if the
package is not damaged and the product is removed from the package at the time
of the purchase.
The product must be discarded after a maximum of 10 respective 7 years of use.
Maximum service life can only be achieved if the product is used not more than 1 week each year and kept in storage correctly.
The actual service life depends fully on the condition of the product. The condition of the product is affected by these factors:
- UV radiation
- Type and frequency of use
- Product handling and storage
- Climatic influences such as ice or snow
- Operational environments such as salt or sand
- Chemical influences such as battery acid
- Heat contamination
- Mechanical deformation or distortion
Extreme conditions during operation can shorten the service life to a single use only. If the product is damaged before its first use, for example during transportation, it must be discarded immediately and not used.
Mechanical wear and sunlight decrease the service life considerably. Bleached or abraded fibers, discoloration, and hardened spots are signs that show that the product must be discarded.
