HARLEY-DAVIDSON Extended Service Plan
Warranty
Following parts will be covered under the Extended Warranty program.
Head Cylinder and Cover Cylinder Head, Crankshaft and Camshafts, Rocker Arm
Shaft, Sprocket Cam Shaft Complete Assembly, Piston Rings, Rocker Arm and
Rocker Arm Bearing, Inlet and Exhaust valve, Cylinder Block and Piston, Oil
Pump, Pinion Gear, Alternator Assemble (Stator and Rotor), Regulator /
Rectifier, Crankcase LH and RH Crankshaft and Tod Bearings, Main Bearings,
Clutch Cover, Starter Motor Assembly and Solenoid, Transmission Assembly
including but not limited to Main Drive Gear, Gear/Transmission Shafts, Gear
and Gear Box Bearings, Transmission Sprocket, Rear Wheel Sprocket and Drive
Belt.
Speedometer Assembly and Fuel Cork, ECM, BCM, TSSM, TS and HCM, CD Player /
Radio / Navigation system Gas Cap, Gas Tank and Fuel Pump included Brake Disk
Rotors and Brake Caliper Assemblies, Master Cylinder Assemblies – Front and
Rear, All Sensors, Relays, Regulator / Rectifier, Wiring Harness and Vehicle
Switches, Fork, Shaft, Cam Gear Shift and Plate, Stopper and Springs, Gear
Kick Starter, Ratchet Kick Starter and Shaft Kick Starter
Brake Disk Rotors and Brake Caliper Assemblies, Master Cylinder Assemblies-
Front and Rear, SAI Valve Assembly, Combined Digital CDI, Electronic Flasher
Unit, Wiring Harness, Ignition Switch and Throttle switch, Frame Assembly,
Swing Arm Assembly, Rear Shock Absorber (for Leakage Only), Silencer and Front
Fork Assembly Throttle Body, Suppressor Caps.
Extended Warranty Shall Not Apply To (Terms & Conditions)
Any willful act, neglect or negligence.
All Fasteners, Oil Seals, Cables, Gaskets, Rings (excluding Piston Rings),
O-Rings, rubber items, Hoses an Bulbs Stem Oil Seal, Guide Valve, Spring Valve
Inner and Outer, Cam Chain, Tensioner and Guide Cam Chain, Adjuster Assembly
Tensioner Clutch Plates and Hub, Cir Clips, Oil Filter and Sprockets (except
those expressly included), Thrust Washer, Engine Oil. Upper and Lower Front
Fork Bracket Assembly Wheel Bearings Throttle Cables, Clutch Cables and Gear
Speedometer Tyres, inner Tube, Front Fork Oil Seal, Fork Oil, Battery, Tyres
and Tubes, Brake Pads.
Failure of the customer to observe usage guidelines stipulated by Harley-
Davidson Motor Company India Pvt Ltd. including any non adherence of
servicing/maintenance guidelines recommended in the owner’s manual and/or
service booklet or service or maintenance conducted by any centre not
authorized by the Company.
Normal wear and tear of the parts, determined by the correlation between the
observed state of parts, extent of usage of motorcycle, and the expected
normal working life of the specific part in the context of the usage of the
motorcycle.
Faulty installations or connections or fitting the motorcycle with an LPG/CNG
unit other than a unit supplied, fitted or endorsed by the Manufacturer.
Frost, water, freezing liquids, rust, corrosion, sludge or silt or other
foreign or waste matter Overloading, strain, overrunning, freezing, excessive
pressure, overheating or short-circuiting, poor workmanship or faulty parts.
Usage of motorcycle in competitions, motor sports, pace-making, speed testing
or reliability trials, transportation of goods or for hire as taxi (commercial
use) or is being driven by any person not holding a license to drive the
motorcycle.
Parts where the manufacturer provides a long term parts guarantee Parts which
are either subject to recall by Manufacturer or can be considered as having
Manufacturer design defects.
General maintenance, adjustments, resetting of controls, tuning, cleaning and
the like.
Warranty does not cover the cost of accessories and consumable items. This
includes but is not limited to batteries, light bulbs, filters, brush, belts,
leads, terminal connections, plugs and the like Repairs to any parts which are
not listed on the schedule Repairs to damage caused by scratching or denting
or from the direct application of a tool, to interior or exterior paintwork or
casing. Labour charges where no fault is found with the covered product.
Replacing the covered product because replacement parts are no longer
available.
Rectifying any blockages and damages caused by any foreign body.
Extended Warranty does not cover any damage caused due to an Accident. The
service provider shall not be liable for any breakdown consequent to an
Accident.
Any claim where the damage to a covered component was caused by a non-covered
component, or claims of insignificant defect that does not affect vehicle
performance (including without limitation) sound, vibration or fluid seepage.
Any motorcycle, on which engine number or chassis number is deleted, defaced
or altered. Any maintenance, adjustments, upgrade, modification and/or re-
programming required to any part Covered. Any failure due to unauthorized
repairs, improper handling (including storage, dismantling, fitting, repair,
alteration, modification), inaccurate diagnosis or repair, use of spurious
parts, parts of incorrect specification or parts of faulty manufacture or
alterations or modifications (including fitment of any performance accessory)
to the motorcycle not permitted by the Manufacturer or Dealer.
Failure of the product to perform as designed, which is not directly
attributable to covered parts. Damage caused by fire, theft, lightning, flood,
ingress of moisture or other risk.
Damage attributable to any road traffic accidents.
Loss due to, vermin, animal or insect damage, bird droppings, effect of light,
sun or any atmospheric conditions, dust etc.
Failure of the non-operational components such as, but not limited to
decorative finishing, door liners, handles and hinges etc. All kinds of
diagnostic costs, unless accepted as a part of an authorized claim.
Compensation for loss of use or any consequential loss whatsoever.
Any damage caused to any article or property; or loss due to death or
disability caused to any life, due to the mechanical, electronic or electrical
breakdown of any part covered under extended warranty. Any claim which is
fraudulent.
Any repairs/ loss on account of mechanical, electronic or electrical failure
existing before the commencement of extended warranty. Failure, for which the
cause was evident during the validity of Manufacturers’ warranty, irrespective
of when the failure actually occurred.
Any repairs required as a result of continued operation of the motorcycle once
a defect or fault has occurred (including loss of lubricants and coolant).
Tampering of odometer would render the cover null and void.
I) EXTENDED WARRANTY OBLIGATION If any defect or defects should be found
in your motorcycle within the terms stipulated, the only obligation of the
dealer is to repair or replace at his sole
discretion any part shown to be defective with a new part or the equivalent at
no cost to the owner for parts or labour, when the said dealer acknowledges
that such a defect is attributable to Mechanical and Electrical
breakdown as defined in this extended warranty.
II) COMMENCEMENT AND DURATION OF EXTENDED WARRANTY This extended warranty
will commence immediately after the expiry of original manufacturer period.
Please refer to Extended Warranty Certificate for the term of the extended
warranty.
Ill) TRANSFER OF EXTENDED WARRANTY Selling your motorcycle with this extended warranty will obviously increase the value of motorcycle. To request a transfer of the extended warranty simply contact your Dealer and supply the details of the person to whom you will be selling your vehicle. This extended warranty may not be transferred if the motorcycle is sold to a two-wheeler dealer or trader or to anyone excluded under the terms & conditions of this warranty and it will be cancelled automatically on such a sale. In the event of the occurrence of the breakdown the owner must: I) Immediately take all steps necessary to minimize the extent of loss. II) Depending on whether the motorcycle is in a condition enabling it to be driven, the owner shall drive it or have it towed, without delay, to the nearest Dealer to effect repair according to the dealer/manufacturer’s requirements and to notify the dealer of the extended warranty certificate number. III) Authorize the dealer to establish the cause of break down. IV) Undertake to pay the costs of dismantling and repairing the motorcycle if the cause of the break down is not covered by extended warranty. The owner is responsible for paying for any other work, which the owner asks the repairer to carry out. V) The service record and service bills must be made available to the manager if required by them. Failure to comply with these formalities and conditions may lead to a refusal to pay the claim.
The Certificate can be cancelled for a refund of selling price less handling charges of 10% of the selling price along with any applicable taxes within 15 days of purchase. The Cover cannot be canceled post 15 days from the date of purchase.
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
I. In order to maintain the validity of this warranty, the motorcycle must be
serviced by a H-D authorized dealer in accordance with manufacturer
recommended service schedule.
Il. Service Relaxation Service effected following more than 750 kms or 60 days
from the recommended service interval shall invalidate the extended warranty.
This allowance is to facilitate the motorcycle owner to make sure services are
completed at correct intervals.
Ill. The owner must retain all the detailed servicing bills supplied by H-D
dealer.
