Introduction
- Thank you for purchasing the MyBlock™ Mini DryBath. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to operating the instrument.
- The MyBlock Mini is an extremely compact digital dry bath (heat block). The instrument provides excellent temperature uniformity and accuracy for heating of tubes from 0.2ml up to 50ml. Each unit includes a convenient block lifter for removing blocks without having to wait until they have cooled.
Installation
Place the MyBlock Mini on a flat and level surface nearby an electrical outlet. It should not be near a heat source or in direct sunlight.
Operation
- Attach the power cord and place the power switch into the on”-” position.
- Press the “SET’ key and select the desired temperature using the up and down arrows.
- The instrument will now quickly heat to the desired temperature. The right side of the display will read “NOT OK” until the desired temperature has been reached. The display will then read “OK”
- Remove the clear cover and install the appropriate bock (purchased separately).
- Once installed, load your samples into the block and attach the cover

Cleaning and Maintenance
- The aluminum blocks can be removed for cleaning by using the included block lifter. Once removed, the blocks can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or can be sterilized in an autoclave at 121 °C for 20 minutes.
- The instrument can be cleaned with a damp cloth or isopropyl alcohol.

Temperature calibration
- Power on the Mini Dry Bath, make sure that the temperature is less than 35C
- Insert a tube filled with water or oil into one of the tube wells.
- Insert a 1hermometer (wi1h accuracy of at least 0.1C) into 1his tube
- To enter the calibration mode press the Up and Down keys simultaneously (the temperature begins to rise to the first calibration point, 40C)
- Wait 15 to 20 minutes and read teh temperature shown on the thermometer. If the temperature differs, use the up and down keys to change the temperature in teh display to match teh temperature shown on the thermometer and press teh “SET” key.
- The temperature will now rise to the second calibration point of 80C.
- Follow the same instructions for calibration point 2 and press the “SET” button once completed.
The calibration is now complete and the dry bath enters back into the standard operating mode.
