Installation Guide
To install the Philips LEDtube EM/Mains T8, follow the steps below:
Installation on Electro-magnetic Ballast:
- Turn off the power supply.
- Replace the starter with the provided EMP (Electronic Replacement Starter).
- Follow the wiring diagram provided in the installation guide to connect the LED tube to the ballast.
- Apply the warning sticker on the luminaire after installation.
Installation on Direct Mains:
- Turn off the power supply.
- Remove the ballast from the circuit (if present).
- Connect the LED tube directly to the mains following the wiring diagram in the installation guide.
- Apply the warning sticker on the luminaire after installation.

INSTRUCTION
- This lamp is not suitable to be used in emergency luminaires designed for double-capped fluorescent lamp(s).
- Operating ambient temperature -20℃ to +45℃
- This lamp may not be suitable for use in all applications where a traditional fluorescent lamp has been used. The temperature range of this lamp is more restricted. In cases of doubt regarding the suitability of the application, the manufacturer of this lamp should be consulted.
- This lamp is designed for general lighting service (excluding e.g. explosive atmospheres).
- Always switch off the power supply before commencing work!
Installation of Electro-magnetic ballast
- No modifications of the luminaire are to be made in this application.
- It is recommended to remove the compensation capacitor to improve the power factor.
- LEDtube 600mm is not suitable for series operation
Installation on direct mains
- This application shall be used in case there is a series compensation capacitor installed.
- The fluorescent starter, if installed in the luminaire, shall be removed or bypassed (an LED replacement starter can be used for this purpose).
- The installation shall be performed by qualified professionals by the relevant local code.
- The fixture has been modified and can no longer operate the originally specified fluorescent lamp. Stick the Warning Sticker on the luminaire after the modification has been made.
