Removal Instructions:
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the instrument panel cluster trim bezel.
- Insert the key and turn the ignition lock to the ON position.
- Using a small angled awl or similar tool, press and hold the release tab on the ignition lock. Access the release tab by placing the angled awl through the dash panel opening to the right of the ignition switch.
- Using the key as an aid, pull the lock cylinder from the housing.

REMOVAL/INSTALL OF IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER (924-719) Chevrolet 2005–97, Oldsmobile 2004–97, Pontiac 2005–99

Removal Instructions
- STEP 1: Disconnect negative battery cable.
- STEP 2: Remove instrument panel cluster trim bezel.
- STEP 3: Insert key and turn ignition lock to ON position.
- STEP 4: Using a small angled awl or similar tool press and hold release tab on ignition lock. Access release tab by placing angled awl through dash panel opening to the right of ignition switch.
- STEP 5: Using the key as an aid, pull lock cylinder from housing.
Installation Instructions
- STEP 1: Insert key and turn lock cylinder to the ON position.
- STEP 2: Position lock cylinder onto ignition housing and press new lock cylinder into housing.
- STEP 3: Verify free rotation of new lock through all positions.
- STEP 4: Turn ignition to OFF position and remove key.
- STEP 5: Install instrument panel cluster trim bezel.
- STEP 6: Reconnect negative battery cable.
- STEP 7: Perform theft deterrent relearn procedure using the following steps:
- STEP 7a: Turn ignition on without starting engine.
- STEP 7b: Attempt to start engine and release key.
- STEP 7c: Leave the key in the on position until the security light is no longer flashing. (This usually takes approximately 10 minutes.)
- STEP 7d: Turn ignition off and wait six seconds.
- STEP 7e: Repeat steps 7a through 7d two more times.
- STEP 7f: Start engine. (The vehicle has now learned the new ignition lock).
