Product Usage Instructions

First Time Setup: What is Needed

1. Wireless router with a broadband internet connection and Ethernet cable
2. Apple iOS or Android device on the same network
3. For Rena SA 2: Pair of Passive speakers and speaker cables

Step 1: Connect All the Cables

1. Connect the Rena S2/SA2 to your router with a standard Ethernet cable (not included)
2. For RENA SA2 only: Connect both speaker cables
3. Connect the power cable to the power supply, plug it in the wall and the other end in the DC input

Initial Setup: Based on the Wired Network Connection

1. Download the EC PLAY App from the Apple store or Google Play.
2. Launch the EC PLAY App and set up a new system following the on-screen instructions.
3. Choose a Radio station to test the sound.

Step 3: Enabling Wireless Connection

This step is only necessary if you want the system connected to your wireless network. If you want to continue using a wired connection, simply skip this step.
Note: Playing very high-resolution files over Wi-Fi is not recommended. Switch to a cabled connection if dropouts occur.

1. Start the EC PLAY App.
2. Tap MORE button at the bottom right menu.
3. Tap NETWORK.
4. Scroll down and tap CONFIGURE WIFI.
5. Select your wireless network. (Mobile/tablet must be on the same network)
6. Enter your password and tap Join or OK.
7. Remove the LAN cable and wait until the Rena reappears in the App. Tap Room and reselect your RENA S/SA 2.

Note: There is no benefit in using both wireless and cabled connections. Use one or the other.

Alternative Setup: Based on Wireless Connection
If you can’t connect the Rena to the Wireless router with the cable, please follow further instructions for wireless setup.

Unpacking

Immediately after receiving the Rena S2/SA2, inspect the carton for possible damage during shipment. The carton and packaging have been designed to provide the safest possible protection for transport of your Rena. Unpack the unit carefully. Save all packaging materials for  possible future shipments.

First time setup

  Press the “ Setup a new system” in the app. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to setup your system.
  Once done with setup choose some Radio station to test the sound .
  ENJOY!

Enabling wireless connection

This step is only necessary if you want the system connected to your wireless network. If you want to continue using wired connection (LAN cable), simply skip this page.
(We recommend using wired connection if possible to reduce Wi-Fi traffic and achieve best possible stability for the system.)
PLEASE NOTE! Playing very high resolution files over Wi-Fi is not recommended. If dropouts occurs, please switch to cabled connection.

Wireless network setup:

1. Start the EC PLAY App.
2. Tap MORE button at the bottom right menu.
3. Tap NETWORK.
4. Scroll down and tap CONFIGURE WIFI .
5. Select your wireless network. (Mobile/tablet must be on the same network)
6. Enter your password, tap “Join” or “OK”
7. Remove the LAN cable and wait until the Rena reappears in the App. Tap Room and reselect your RENA S/SA 2.

Please note! There is no benefit in using both wire-less and cabled connections. Use one or the other.
If you loose connection with the system, reconnect the net-work cable and check your network password carefully.

Alternative setup: Based on wireless connection
If you can’t connect the Rena to the Wireless router with the cable, please follow the next steps:

1. Download the “EC PLAY” App
   The free App is available at the Apple store or Google Play. Search for: “EC PLAY” or “Electrocompaniet”

2. iOS Apple devices:

3. Check if the green and orange status LED is lit on the top panel.

4. Start the EC Play app, press “Setup a new system”, and follow the on-screen instructions.

5. Choose the Rena when it pops up and connect it to your chosen network.

6. Wait for EC Play app to finish the setup.

7. Android devices:

8. Check if the green and orange status LED is lit on the top panel.

9. Start the EC Play app, press “Setup a new system”, and follow the on-screen instructions.

10. Select the system access point in your Wi-Fi settings when asked. The access point will be named after your system and serial number. For exam-ple, “Rena -10”. Return to the EC Play App and complete the setup.

If Service is needed
Your dealer will have all relevant information regarding the service centers in your area, and will ensure that your unit is serviced with minimum delay. It is our general policy to have your unit returned to you within five working days. This is an average time and can vary locally, depending on the workload at that particular service station. If, for some reason, there are no service facilities available in your country, please ship the unit to the following address:

The end user is responsible for all shipping charges, insurance, re- importation and duty charges.
When shipping a product to the factory for service, always include the following:

• A sales slip or other proof of purchase if repair is claimed under warranty.
• A proforma invoice with the value of goods, stating that the RENA S2/SA2 is returned to Norway for repair.
• An accompanying letter describing faults, symptoms, or problems with the unit.
• Always ship the unit in its original carton and packaging material to prevent damage in transit.
  Electrocompaniet will not cover damages incurred in transit. If you require further information concerning the operation of the unit, or if you have any questions related to service, please do not hesitate to contact your dealer or your national distributor.

To avoid risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. Verify line voltage before use. Do not remove top cover. No user- serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. The warranty is void if the product is tampered with by non-authorised personnel. Use only the authorized Electrocompaniet service centre.
