How To Restore Your Boat or RV with Poli Glow®

Congratulations on your purchase of Poli Glow!
This guide provides directions for the first-time application of Poli Glow to boats or RVs that are oxidized and faded.
It also provides instructions on how to maintain the Poli Glow finish once it is applied.

Our warranty does not cover Poli Glow applied by professional detailers. A warranty should be provided to you by the professional who restored your boat or RV.

The purpose of Poli Glow®

Poli Glow is a cutting-edge fiberglass and gelcoat sealer and polish alternative.
Sealing and protecting your boat or RV with Poli Glow does a few things:

• Protects the surface from moisture and UV radiation
• Helps prevent damage and staining
• Makes it easier to clean
• Reduces maintenance costs
• May help decrease fuel costs by decreasing drag

Most importantly: Poli Glow restores a brilliant high-gloss shine so that your boat or RV will look brand new!
Poli Glow restoration products include 1) Poli Prep™ (a prepping agent for surfaces with mild oxidation), 2) Poli Ox™ (a prepping agent for surfaces with moderate to serious oxidation), and 3) Poli Glow (the fiberglass and gelcoat restorer, sealer, and polish).

Safe surfaces for Poli Glow®

Poli Glow restoration products can safely be used on the following surfaces:

1. Fiberglass
2. Gelcoat
3. Clear coat or full body paint (FBP)
4. Painted aluminum
5.  Most plastic and acrylic surfaces
6. Rubber
7. Most vinyl graphics and decals

Unsafe surfaces for Poli Glow®
DO NOT use Poli Glow restoration products on the following surfaces:

1. Glass
2.  Bare unpainted metals
3. Brand new, unoxidized surfaces that still have a gloss
4. Household acrylic and urethane based paints
5.  Bottom paint on boats
6. Ink-printed decals or graphics
7. Your car or truck
8. Surfaces that contain a wax or ceramic (you can apply Poli Glow after the wax or ceramic coating is removed)

Do not use Poli Glow restoration products on boats and RVs that are new or still have a high gloss shine.
Instead, use our Poli Glow Boat or RV Detailing Kit products to help protect the surface and slow oxidation.
For boats with bottom paint, cover that section with plastic and tape it out before proceeding with the restoration project. If you are planning on installing bottom paint, do not apply Poli Glow to that area of the hull.
When prepping over the decals and graphics, do not press firmly to avoid damage.
In Class C RVs, cover the cab to prevent damage from overspray and drips.
Always pretest the Poli Glow cleaning and prepping products in an inconspicuous area and avoid use if the color is affected.

DIRECTIONS FOR RESTORATION

Step 1: Cleaning and preparing the surface
Before you apply Poli Glow, you must scrub the surface of your boat or RV until the white chalky layer of oxidation and any stains have been removed.
After this step, the surface should be uniform with no color variations (it will still be faded and dull).
This is a critical step! Any color variations, spotting, or mottling that is not removed may be enhanced after Poli Glow is applied.
For mild oxidation and stains, use Poli Prep with the white non-abrasive scrub pad.
For older units with stubborn stains or more sun damage, mold or mildew, or darker colored units, use Poli Prep and Poli Ox with the ultra-fine sanding pad.
Note: The directions below apply mainly to gelcoat, fiberglass, and clear coat (FBP) applications. If you are using Poli Glow with painted aluminum or painted plastic, see Appendix A.

Directions for using Poli Prep™

1. Put on disposable gloves to protect your hands.
2. In a trigger spray bottle, dilute Poli Prep concentrate 3:1 (three parts water and one part Poli Prep).
3. Wet the affected area with water, then spray Poli Prep onto the surface and scrub the oxidized area with the White Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad to remove the oxidation. Rinse with water.
4. A soft-bristled auto brush on an extension pole can be used for the hard to reach areas.
5. Repeat the process until all of the oxidation and staining is removed and the surface looks uniform without blotches.
6. Work in sections of about four to six feet in length. Move on to the next section once all oxidation and stains are removed.
7. Let your boat or RV dry for one hour after cleaning and before applying Poli Glow. Drying times may be longer in cooler and more humid conditions.

Directions for using Poli Ox™
Poli Ox can be applied with either the White Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad or the Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad provided in the kit.
For heavier stains and oxidation, use the Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad.
Steps:

1. Put on disposable gloves to protect your hands.
2. Moisten the scrub pad with water and sprinkle Poli Ox onto the pad. Gently rub Poli Ox into the pad to prevent it from spilling onto the ground.
3. Wet the affected area and scrub with Poli Ox. Rinse with water and assess the surface.
4. Repeat until the stain or oxidation is removed and the surface looks uniform.
5. Wash the surface with Poli Prep to remove any residue.

If you have problem areas such as ghosting or persistent blotches after cleaning and prepping, wet sanding may be required. For wet sanding instructions, please refer to Appendix B.

Step 2: Applying Poli Glow®
Follow these steps to achieve a streak free finish.
Poli Glow can be applied with either the Poli-Mitt™ applicator or the 7” Chamois applicator.
Note: The first few coats may appear streaky until enough coats are applied for appropriate coverage.
If you plan on installing new graphics or decals, do so before applying Poli Glow.

Directions for applying Poli Glow®

1. Put on disposable gloves to protect your hands.

2. Dampen the applicator with water and wring out the excess.

3. Shake the Poli Glow bottle well before use. Drizzle several lines of Poli Glow onto the applicator. It should be moist, not dripping wet. Wring the applicator to distribute the product throughout the mitt for an even application, and to remove any excess Poli Glow.

4. Apply Poli Glow by wiping in one direction, using either vertical (top to bottom) or horizontal (side to side) strokes.
   Do not use circular motions.

5. Apply Poli Glow gently. Do not push down forcefully on the applicator during application. This may cause foaming, bubbles, streaks, and drips. If drips occur, wipe them away with the applicator before they dry.

6. Avoid passing over the same area more than once to prevent streaks from forming while Poli Glow is drying.

7. Apply to a four-by-six-foot area. When the first coat is dry, then apply the next coat.

8. Each coat dries in approximately one to two minutes, depending on the temperature and humidity.
   Do not apply another coat until the previous coat feels dry and is not tacky. Apply a minimum of 6 coats but up to 12 coats or more as per the Poli Glow Coating Chart (please see Appendix C).

9.  Apply all recommended coats to each area before moving on to the next section. When Poli Glow is applied to the next section, it will blend in with the previous section without leaving a seam.

10. If you start to feel resistance as you apply Poli Glow with the applicator, there are two possible causes.
    a. There is not enough Poli Glow on the mitt. Apply more Poli Glow to the mitt and continue working.
    b. It is too hot and Poli Glow is drying as soon as it hits the surface. Stop working and come back on a cooler day.

11. The section is finished when the surface has a uniform glossy appearance without streaks or imperfections and you have applied the recommended number of coats according to the Poli Glow Coating Chart (see Appendix C).

12. If you pause the project for a few hours, prevent Poli Glow from drying on the applicator by rinsing it well with water and placing it in a resealable plastic bag.

Important Tips
How many coats of Poli Glow® should be applied?
The number of Poli Glow coats that should be applied depends on two factors:

1. The condition of the gelcoat or fiberglass
2. The climate where the unit resides

More coats are needed on older units that have been more heavily oxidized.
More coats are also needed if the climate is more tropical with higher heat, humidity, UV index, or if you reside at higher elevation.
Applying more coats adds more UV inhibitors to the surface and more protection against oxidation.
In general, a 32oz Poli Glow bottle can cover up to 350 square feet of surface with 6-8 coats of product. That is roughly an RV or boat that is 28 feet long.
Use the Poli Glow Coating Chart (see Appendix C) as a guide to our recommended number of coats for your climate.
Applying the recommended number of coats protects the surface, yields a higher gloss, prevents early deterioration of Poli Glow, and protects your warranty.
Note: During most applications, the first 2-3 coats will soak into the surface and the finish will look streaky. The high gloss shine will materialize as more coats are applied.

Poli Glow® application temperatures and conditions
Please check the forecast before starting the restoration project.

• Wind: Avoid applying Poli Glow in windy conditions to prevent debris from blowing onto the surface and embedding into the finish.
• Rain: Do not apply Poli Glow in the rain. This will cause streaks and water spots.
• Temperature: Apply Poli Glow between 65 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is too hot, Poli Glow will dry too fast on the surface and look streaky no matter how many coats are applied. If it is too cold, Poli Glow may not adhere to the surface properly, flake off or crack, or develop a hazy or cloudy appearance.
• Humidity: Humidity plays a role in drying times. High humidity results in slower drying times, and low humidity results in faster drying times.
• Direct sunlight and shade: Direct sunlight onto the surface of your unit will increase the surface temperature which may be hotter than the air temperature, especially in units that are darker in color.
  Likewise, working in the shade on a cooler day may cause the surface temperature of the unit to be cooler than the air temperature. Check the surface temperature with an infrared thermometer and do not apply if the temperature is greater than 90 degrees or less than 65 degrees.

Poli Glow® drying time
An appropriate drying time is typically between 30 seconds to 2 minutes per coat.
Higher temperatures, lower humidity, and direct sunlight (especially on darker colored areas) cause Poli Glow to dry faster.
If the drying time is less than 30 seconds, it may be too hot out. Streaks may develop.
Lower temperatures, higher humidity, and shade allow Poli Glow to dry slower.
If the drying time is greater than 2 minutes, it may be too cold out. Poli Glow may not adhere and may peel off or look cloudy when dry.
If the next coat of Poli Glow is applied before the previous coat is completely dry, streaks, brush marks, and/or bubbles can occur in the finish.
Do not apply another coat until the previous coat feels dry and is not tacky.

CLEAN-UP AND STORAGE

Cleaning the product applicators
The Poli-Mitt™ applicator and scrub pads can be cleaned and stored for later use. The chamois can be removed from the block for more thorough cleaning by unlatching the velcro straps.

Steps:

1. Add 2 ounces of the Poli Prep concentrate to a bucket with three gallons of water. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. For more soiled applicators, add 1 ounce of Poli Wash Pro™ to the mixture.
2. Wash the applicator, microfiber towels, and scrub pads.
3. Thoroughly rinse with water and leave out to dry.

Product storage
All of the products, applicators, and scrub pads are reusable. Do not discard them if product remains or the pads are in good condition.
Please store all Poli Glow products in a cool, dry place.
Do not allow the products to freeze or to be exposed to temperatures above 95 degrees fahrenheit, or they will degrade and not function properly, and will void the warranty.
Product expiration
Poli Glow has an expiration date of two years after production, after which use of the product may yield suboptimal results. Please check the expiration date on the bottle.
Do not discard unexpired Poli Glow if any remains in the bottle. Poli Glow can be used for touch-ups and maintenance coats.
All other products do not have an expiration date if stored properly.

MAINTENANCE AND REMOVAL

Regular maintenance is the KEY FACTOR that gives Poli Glow longevity and protects the surface for up to 5-6 years.
Poli Glow will not shed from the surface of your boat or RV like wax.
However, if not maintained, the Poli Glow finish will oxidize over time just like any other product or structure left out in the elements.
Scratches or stains can also develop.
These blemishes or imperfections can be easily removed and repaired, and with regular maintenance applications, your boat or RV will keep that high gloss shine for many years.
The following instructions cover four different situations you should be familiar with when maintaining the Poli Glow finish on your boat or RV:

1. General cleaning
2. Correcting small blemishes in the finish
3.  Annual maintenance
4. Complete removal and reapplication of Poli Glow (every 5-6 years)

Helpful Poli Glow® maintenance products used in this section

In the following sections, we reference several professional-grade products we’ve developed to help maintain and protect your Poli Glow finish throughout the year.

• Poli Wash™ is a high-foaming, super-concentrated, pH-balanced, biodegradable wash that is safe for use over Poli Glow and will remove dirt and grime.
• Poli Super Spray™ is a waterless detailer in a bottle. It can be used to clean exterior surfaces of dust, mild road grime, fingerprints, and water spots without streaking. Poli Super Spray is perfect for spot washing or complete vehicle washing without water.
• Poli Slick Seal™ is a spray-on ceramic with UV inhibitors that is hyper-slick, detergent resistant, and protects against oxidation and staining. Apply directly over Poli Glow for added protection and a hyper slick finish, making your surface even easier to clean. Perfect for use on the front cap of RVs to prevent stains from bug debris.
• Poli Interior Detailer™ is a universal cleaner and protector for the interior surfaces of your vehicle including the dash, door panels, plastic, glass, vinyl, navigation screens, carpet, leather and upholstery.
• Poli Wash Pro™ is an additive to Poli Wash that is safe to use on Poli Glow. It removes stains, dirt, grime, oil, mineral deposits, or salts. This formula will also strip any wax or spray-on ceramic applied over Poli Glow when it is time to apply the maintenance coats of Poli Glow.

Always pretest the Poli Glow cleaning and prepping products in an inconspicuous area and avoid use if the color is affected.
Part 1: General cleaning
Regular cleaning helps keep your boat or RV looking its best and can alert you to any problems in the surface finish such as scratches, staining, or oxidation.
It also prevents deeper staining and makes it easier to inspect the vehicle.
Do not use ammonia-based products, alkaline or acidic products, degreasers, teak or hull cleaners, abrasive substances, Poli Prep, or Poli Strip™ to clean and wash the Poli Glow finish. They will cause fading and damage to the Poli Glow finish.
DO NOT pressure wash a unit that has Poli Glow, or pass the unit through a truck wash. This can lead to damage and deterioration of the finish.

If a stain persists after washing your vehicle, use Poli Wash Pro as an additive to help remove the stain.

Directions:

1. Inspect the surface for damage or staining
2. Add 2 ounces of Poli Wash into a 5 gallon pail and add water.
3. Wet down your boat or RV.
4. Use a soft bristled brush and wash thoroughly. Rinse with water.
5. Allow to air dry or dry with our plush 550GSM Microfiber Detailing Towel.

To remove stubborn stains:

1. Add 2-4 ounces (depending on the degree of staining) of Poli Wash Pro to the Poli Wash mixture.
2.  Rewash the affected area and rinse with water.
3. Allow to air dry or dry with our plush 550GSM Microfiber Detailing Towel.
4. If stain persists, see the directions under Part 2: Correcting blemishes in the finish.

Note: Poli Wash Pro will strip off any wax or spray-on ceramics applied over Poli Glow.
Adding an extra layer of protection
To help with regular cleaning throughout the year, you can apply Poli Slick Seal over Poli Glow.
Poli Slick Seal is a highly hydrophobic spray-on ceramic that is easy to use, provides a hyper-slick coating, and contains UV inhibitors.
It protects against oxidation, repels water, prevents staining, and makes it easier to wash and remove road grime, bugs, watermarks, and more.
For maximum benefit, use every four months.
Directions:

1. Wash your boat or RV with Poli Wash and dry with our 550GSM Microfiber Detailing Towel.
2. Spray Poli Slick Seal™ onto the cleaned surface.
3. Wipe into the surface with our 320 GSM Microfiber Towel.
4. Repeat as necessary for desired slickness.
5. Re-apply every 4-6 months.

Waterless washing
If water is not available or you want a quick wash and detail, use Poli Super Spray. It’s like a bath in a bottle.
It will remove dirt, bugs, water spots, fingerprints, superficial or light stains, and mild road grime without streaking, leaving a high gloss shine!
It can be used on painted surfaces, fiberglass, gelcoat, clear coats, glass, plastics, metal, vinyl and rubber trim.

Directions:

1. Spray the surface with Poli Super Spray.
2.  Wipe and gently buff with our 320GSM Microfiber Towel.
3. Repeat as necessary.

Use Poli Interior Detailer for the interior dash, windows, vinyl and plastic panels, leather and upholstery.

Directions:

1. Spray the surfaces to be cleaned with Poli Interior Detailer.
2. Wipe and gently buff with our 320GSM Microfiber Towel.
3. Repeat as necessary.

Part 2: Correcting blemishes in the finish
Poli Glow is the most user-friendly sealer on the market.
Blemishes can be repaired by first removing a few layers of Poli Glow until the scratch or stain has disappeared, and then re-applying Poli Glow.
Poli Glow will blend in with the surrounding area without leaving a seam.
To remove a blemish in the finish, you can use either Poli Strip or Poli Ox.

Directions:

1.  Put on vinyl or plastic disposable gloves to protect your hands.

2. If using Poli Strip concentrate:
   a. Dilute three parts water to one part product (3:1) in a trigger sprayer.
   b. Mist a clean towel with Poli Strip and wipe the affected area gently until the blemish is removed, repeating  as necessary and flip the towel occasionally.
   c. Allow to air dry.
   d. Do not rinse with water as this can affect the finish on the surface below.

3.  If using Poli Ox:
   a. Use the white non-abrasive scrub pad if the blemish is minimal. Use the ultra-fine sanding pad if the scratch is deeper, if there is heavier!oxidation, or if there are any flaking areas.
   b. Moisten the scrub pad with water and sprinkle Poli Ox onto the pad. Gently rub Poli Ox into the pad to prevent  it from spilling onto the ground.
   c. Wet the affected area with water and scrub until the imperfection has been removed.
   d. Repeat the process as necessary, rinsing with water in between.

4. Remove enough Poli Glow to erase staining or remove oxidation, or smooth out the edges of any scratches so that the transition zone of the scratch will not be visible when Poli Glow is reapplied.

5.  Reapply Poli Glow. Shake the bottle well and apply a minimum of 3-4 coats of Poli Glow. If it was necessary to remove all of the Poli Glow to eliminate the blemish, reapply 8-10 coats.

For painted aluminum or plastics, please see Appendix A.
Deeper scratches that penetrate into the fiberglass or gelcoat may require wet sanding (see Appendix!B) if the Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad is not abrasive enough to remove it.
Note: Any scratch that penetrates completely through the gelcoat down to the fiberglass or damages the fiberglass may require a fiberglass body repair specialist.

Part 3: Annual maintenance application
At least once a year, apply 3-4 coats of Poli Glow to your entire boat or RV.
This simple annual maintenance takes less time than waxing, and is critical to keep your boat or RV looking glossy and new.
Additional coats of Poli Glow will blend in with previous layers without any seams.
If Poli Slick Seal or other wax or spray on ceramics have been applied over Poli Glow, strip these products by washing the surface with Poli Wash Pro. The maintenance coats may not adhere to the previous layers if any wax or ceramic residue remains.
In more tropical climates (closer to the equator, high heat, high humidity, high UV index), the maintenance coats should be applied more regularly, every 6-8 months.
In more temperate climates, apply the maintenance coats every 10-12 months. Please refer to the Poli Glow Coating Chart in Appendix C.

Directions:

1. Put on vinyl or plastic disposable gloves to protect your hands.
2.  Fill a 5-gallon bucket with water and add 2-4 ounces of Poli Wash concentrate.
3. Add 2-4 ounces of Poli Wash Pro concentrate to the mixture if needed to remove waxes or spray-on ceramics applied over Poli Glow.
4. Use a soft-bristled brush to wash your boat or RV.
5. Rinse the surface thoroughly with water. Repeat as necessary.
6. Allow to air dry, or use our 550GSM Microfiber Towel to dry the surface.
7.  Inspect the surface and repair any blemishes.
8.  Reapply Poli Glow. Shake the bottle well and apply a minimum of 3-4 coats.

Part 4: Removal and reapplication
Every 5-6 years, it is recommended to remove the entire coating of Poli Glow and reapply a fresh coating to maintain a high-gloss shine.
Nothing lasts forever, and despite its impressive durability Poli Glow is not an exception.
The maintenance coats described in the previous section can be applied for 5-6 years. After this point, the layer may become too thick, the UV inhibitors become depleted in the deeper layers, and eventually Poli Glow may start to peel off.
In our experience, we recommend you don’t wait until this happens. It is best to be proactive to keep your boat or RV looking great and minimize the work required.

“A stitch in time saves nine.”
If your boat or RV has had regular maintenance applications, there should be no oxidation of the gelcoat or fiberglass.
If regular maintenance has not been performed, the Poli Glow finish as well as the underlying fiberglass or gelcoat will oxidize.
This creates a scenario in which not only the Poli Glow must be removed, but also any oxidation of the fiberglass or gelcoat prior to reapplication.
If the fiberglass or gelcoat surfaces have a blotchy appearance, use Poli Strip full strength (undiluted). If the oxidation remains, wet sanding is recommended (see Appendix B).
What you’ll need:

• Poli Strip™
• Poli Ox™
• White Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad
• Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad
• Sheet sander if necessary

General tips:
When removing Poli Glow with Poli Strip, the fluid on the surface will change to a milky color.
Look for this to confirm that Poli Glow is being removed. At first there will be resistance, but this will loosen up as Poli Glow liquifies.
If your vehicle is painted aluminum, refer to the instructions in Appendix A.
Poli Strip can damage the clear coat on the cab of a Class C RV, ink printed decals, and the bottom paint on a boat.
Please cover any areas that may be susceptible with plastic and tape out to avoid damage.

Directions:

1. Put on vinyl or plastic disposable gloves to protect your hands.
2. Dilute Poli Strip concentrate 3:1 water to product in a trigger sprayer.
3. Spray diluted Poli Strip onto a small four by four-foot area.
4. Scrub the section using the White Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad. Look for a milky color to form. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, not allowing the product to re-harden, and repeat until all the product has been removed.
5. Use Poli Ox with the White Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad or the Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad to help remove Poli Glow on more stubborn areas if needed.
6. Allow to air dry, or use our 550GSM Microfiber Towel to dry the surface.
7. Reapply Poli Glow. Shake the bottle well and apply the recommended number of coats per the Poli Glow Coating Chart. (see Appendix C)

If you have problem areas such as ghosting or persistent blotches after cleaning and prepping, wet sanding may be required. For wet sanding instructions, please refer to Appendix B.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How much Poli Glow® do I need?

A: The 32oz Poli Glow bottles can cover up to 350 square feet of surface with 6-8 coats of product. That is roughly an RV or boat that is 28 feet long. This is not an exact science. More product is necessary if the vehicle is bigger, has more severe oxidation, or more coats are needed due to residing in a more tropical climate. Use your judgment and feel free to reach out for specific guidance if you need it.

Q: Will Poli Glow® damage decals and graphics?

A: The cleaning and stripping agents sold by Poli Glow products including Poli Prep, Poli Ox, and Poli Strip should not harm vinyl graphics. However, ink printed graphics and bottom paint should be taped out and covered during the prepping phase to prevent damage. Always pretest the cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area. If the color fades or changes, cover and protect the graphic. If you are applying new graphics, prep the surface to remove the oxidation, install the graphic, then seal with Poli Glow.

Q: Can Poli Glow® fix “ghosting” from decals?

A: No. Ghosting is the color change in the surface that is seen when old graphics are removed. It occurs because the area around the graphic is oxidized compared to the area that was covered and protected from the graphic. Ghosting can be difficult to eradicate and may require wet sanding, especially in older units with more sun damage. Remove as much ghosting as possible as Poli Glow may give it a more enhanced appearance.

Q: Can I use Poli Glow® with bottom paint on boats?

A: No. Do not apply bottom paint over Poli Glow. Apply bottom paint to your boat after restoring the area above the water line to prevent damage to the bottom paint. If bottom paint was previously applied, tape it out and cover with plastic to prevent damage from the prepping agents.

Q: How long after a Poli Glow® application can I use my boat or RV?

A: Once all coats of Poli Glow are applied, allow it to cure for 48 hours before allowing it to get wet. If you have a boat, that means waiting 48 hours before putting your boat into the water. If you have an RV, that means 48 hours before you drive it in the rain. Do not apply Poli Glow if rain is expected within 48 hours of application.

Q: Can I shrink-wrap my boat after applying Poli Glow®?

A: No. Shrink wrapping decreases airflow around the surface and tends to trap water and moisture, and can lead to damage to the Poli Glow finish. It is not recommended. Any covering over the boat or RV should be breathable and allow airflow.

APPENDIX A
Application instructions for painted aluminum and plastics

If you’re treating painted aluminum and/or plastics, use a more diluted form of Poli Prep. Avoid using the ultra-fine sanding pad as this can scratch the paint.
Instructions for the first application of Poli Glow:

1. Start with a 6:1 water to Poli Prep mixture. More Poli Prep can be added to strengthen the solution if necessary.
2. Always pretest in an inconspicuous area. Do not use if the paint is affected.
3. Poli Ox can be used along with or in place of Poli Prep to clean and prep the surface.
4. Use only the White Non-Abrasive scrub pad to prevent scratching these surfaces.
5. Apply Poli Glow as above.

Instructions when removing Poli Glow from painted aluminum (for 5-year removal and reapplication):

1. You can start with a normal solution of Poli Strip (3 parts water to 1 part Poli Strip).
2. However, as more of the layers are removed and the underlying paint is exposed, use a more diluted form of Poli Strip (6 parts water:1 part Poli Strip) to prevent paint damage.
3. Use the White Non-Abrasive scrub pad to avoid scratches.
4. Reapply 8-10 coats of Poli Glow.

APPENDIX B
Wet sanding

If you have problem areas such as ghosting or persistent blotches after cleaning and prepping, wet sanding may be required.
Wet sanding uses sandpaper and water to remove the outer damaged layer. It is not recommended over painted surfaces.
Wet sanding can be done by hand or with machinery. Using a sheet (vibrating) sander is preferred over a rotary buffer to prevent swirl marks.
Remove only the damaged layer so the surface looks uniform and blotches have disappeared. Ghosting may require more aggressive sanding.
Take caution not to remove excessive amounts of gelcoat or clear coat.
Directions for wet sanding:

1. Wet the surface with water.

2.  In general, start with a finer 1000 or 1200-grit sandpaper. If there is deeper or heavier surface damage, you may need to start with a heavier grit sandpaper such as 600 or 800-grit sandpaper and then finish with the 1000 or 1200 grit.

3. Do not press firmly, and avoid heavier grit sandpaper when using the sheet sander over the decals to avoid damage.
   If the decals are in good condition, avoid sanding them or only lightly sand them. Avoid sanding ink printed graphics.

4.  Rinse with water and repeat as necessary until a uniform finish is achieved.

5. Wash the surface with Poli Prep to remove any residue.
