DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION
MX-P150M shortwave power amplifier, used for QRP small power radio, to
increase the transmit power, can be fixed or car use, internal high VSWR
protection power, VSWR higher than SWR2.5 will automatically cut off the
amplifier to achieve protection, the panel has a working band indicator,
forward transmit power indicator, reverse transmit power indicator, amplifier
can be used for FT-818ND IC-705 KX2 KX3 SUNSDR2PRO and other QRP shortwave
machines.
Your QRP low power transceiver becomes more powerful and transmits signals
farther when using the MX-P150M shortwave power amplifier, which offers the
following advantages:
- STRONG POWER BOOST: The MX-P150M dramatically increases the transmission power of your QRP transceiver, ensuring that your signal can travel farther.
- BUILT-IN VSWR PROTECTION: No need to worry about high VSWR causing damage to your equipment, the MX-P150M automatically cuts off the amplifier to protect your equipment.
- Multi-Equipment Compatibility: Not only does the MX-P150M work with specific models of equipment, it also works well with a wide range of QRP shortwave transceivers to ensure your flexibility of choice.
- Versatile: Whether you’re outdoors, hiking, camping, or at home, the MX-P150M will meet your communication needs.

PART LIST
- 1× MX-P150M
- 1× POWER CORD
- 1× SEND CORD FOR IC-705 RADIO
INTERFACE
Front Panel
-
POWER BUTTON
-
FWD POWER
- The more lights on means more forward power from MX-P150M.
-
REF
-
In normal conditions, we don’t want too much reverse power. The more lights illuminated, the higher the reverse power, indicating a potentially high SWR.
-
When all four lights are illuminated(the SWR greater than 2.5), it triggers standing wave protection, and there will be an audible alert.
-
After triggering standing wave protection, the MX-P150M will disconnect. It’s as if the radio is directly connected to the antenna, with the MX-P150M not being part of the system. To resume use, the MX-P150M needs to be powered off and then restarted.

- Using the configured SEND CABLE FOR IC-705 RADIO to connect the IC-705.
- TRANSCEIVER INTERFACE
- Used for connecting to the radio.
- NT INTERFACE
- Used for connecting to the antenna.
INSTALLATION GUIDE
Adaptation of IC-705 as an example
- First, ensure that the power port, radio interface, and antenna connector are allproperly connected.
- Using the SEND CABLE FOR IC-705 RADIO, connect the IC-705 to the MX-P150M.
- Setting the menu of IC-705
In the settings page, open the connectors, select ‘send output’.
Only enable control for the HF bands. Ensure that the U/V bands are all
disabled.
(MX-P150M is designed for shortwave band usage only. Incorrect usage in the U/V bands may lead to damage to the power amplifier or even the radio.)
OTHER QRP MODELS
- FT-818
- ELECRAFT KX2 KX3
- SUNSDR
Specific settings should be referenced in the instruction manual, and users need to find or make their own corresponding control wires.
Our SEND CABLE FOR MX-P150M is defined as follows
Pay attention to the tips
- Input power should not exceed 10 watt.
- Both the power and the radio need to be set to the correct operating bands.
