INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION Please wear gloves during he installation work as ollows.
- Mount the fan housing
- Remove the 2 screws (ST4.2X8) and disconnect the molex plug connector
- from the blower to the junction box. Remove the blower/motor assembly by pressing the side tabs and careful sliding it out of the housing.
- Affix the fan housing to the joist (joist mounting) or to the stud (wall mounting) with 3 long screws (ST4.2X20) by affixing first 1 screw on the bottom of the joist (joist mounting) or in front of the stud (wall mounting), hang up the fan housing through the key hole, tighten the screw, then affix the other 2 screws. See figures on page 5.
- Install exhaust duct Install the ventilation duct, secure it with a clamp and seal it with mastic or approved foil tape. A 4-inch circular duct is needed to connect it to the relevant part of the adaptor.
- Connect wires
- Refer to wiring diagram on page
- Follow all the local electrical safety codes as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC). Using UL approved wire nuts, connect house power wires to ventilating fan wires
- Affix the junction box cover to junction box.
CAUTION
Mount junction box cover carefully so that lead wires are not pinched.
Conduit 5 Insert back blower/motor
- Insert back the blower/motor assembly by sliding it into the adaptor flanges. Then press-lock the blower/motor assembly into the housing can until the blower “clicks” into place for temporary fixation. See figure at page 6.
- Secure the blower/motor assembly with 2 screws (ST4.2X8) and connect the molex plug connector from the blower to the junction box. See figure at page 6.
CAUTION
- Before turning on the fan, make sure the connector is inserted at the correct position.
- Failure to properly connect will result in fan not working. The claw of the connector must latch to the rib completely.
WARNING
The blower/motor assembly must be tightly installed into the 1 housing can
with the 2 screws (ST.2X8, Failure to do so will affect the grounding.
Install grille
Insert the grille assembly mounting springs into the slots as shown and mount
grille assembly to fan body.
MAINTENANCE (CLEANING)
- WARNING ! Disconnect power source before working on unit
- CAUTION Routine maintenance must be done every year.
- Do not immerse motor in water when cleaning.
- Do not soak resin parts in water over 140°F (60°C).
- Never use gasoline, benzene, thinner or any other such as chemicals for cleaning the ventilating fan.
Remove grille
Remove grill assembly, by squeezing the mounting springs an pulling it down
carefully.
Clean the unit
- Wash and clean grille assembly. Use non-abrasive kitchen detergent, and then wipe dry with clean cloth.

- Replace grille assembly. See figure I in step 1 *Remove Grille” on page 6.
PRACTICAL GUIDE TO INSTALLATION
- “The ducting has a strong effect on the air flow, noise and energy use of the fan. Use the shortest, straightest duct routing possible for best performance, and avoid installing the fan with smaller ducts than recommended. Insulation a round the ducts can reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth. Fans installed with existing ducts may not growth. Fans installed with existing ducts may not achieve their rated airflow.”
- A circular 4 inch duct is recommended for best performance and proper fan installation.
- Ensure duct joints and exterior penetrations a sealed with caulk or other similar material to create an air-tight path and to minimize building heat loss and gain and reduce the potential for condensation.
- Place/wrap insulation a round duct and/or fan to in order to minimize possible condensation buildup within the duct. as well as minimize building heat loss and gain.
