Installation
NOTICE : This product is classified as “full indoor type” and should only
be installed in indoor environment.
NOTICE ; Determine the door handing before installing the product.
Face the door from the exterior side:
- If the hinges are installed on the left, the door is left-handed.
- If the hinges are installed on the right, the door is right-handed.
NOTICE : The turn piece is located on the interior assembly (Kl installed on the interior side of the door. For left-handed doors, rotate the turn piece 452 clockwise. For right-handed doors, rotate the turn piece 452 counter- clockwise.
NOTICE
- Prepare all the tools required for the installation.
- Follow the steps in chapter “Instructions for doors with existing holes” at the back of the manual to install the electronic lock (P. 21-29) and door handleset (P. 30-37). For drilling, read chapter “Drilling instructions” (P. 38-46).
- Illustrations in the steps in chapter “Instructions for doors with existing holes” and “Drilling instructions” are for left-handed doors. Reverse the lever position for right-handed doors.
Instructions for doors with existing holes
Drilling instructions
Confirm that the hole in door edge is 01″ (25.4 mm) and the door is between 1-3/8″ (35 mm) and 1-3/4″ (45 mm) thick. Also confirm that the hole in the door is 02-1/8″ (54 mm).
Hold the latch (D) with the latch face flush against the door edge. Ensure that the slot is centered in the door hole. Adjust the latch if needed.
Optional – for doors with chiseled pocket: pry open the attached latch face plate (E) and replace it with the rectangular one.
Optional – for doors without chiseled pocket: pry open the face plate holder with a flat-head screwdriver. Attach the drive-in collar (F) to the latch.
For latch with face plate (E): fit the latch into the hole and secure with two screws (G). / For latch with drive-in collar (F): insert the latch with drive- in collar and tap into position using a wood block and hammer.
Mount the exterior touchpad (C) on the door and run the cable through the door hole under the latch. The torque blade of the clinder (B) must pass through the slot on the latch (D).
Pass the mounting plate (I) through the torque blade and fix it with two bolts (J. Connect the cables aligning the red edge of the connector.
Remove the battery compartment cover (M). Secure the interior assembly (K) on the door with the screws (G, L). Make sure the latch bolt is in the unlocked position when finished. Ensure that the door frame hole is at least 1″ (25 mm) deep. Mount the strike plate (H) on the dcor frame with two screws (G). Confirm that the hole in door edge is 01″ (25.4 mm) and the door is between 1-3/8″ (35 mm) and 1-3/4″ (45 mm) thick. Also confirm that the hole in the door is 02-1/8″ (54 mm).

Latch with face plate (R): fit it into the hole and secure with two screws (T). / Latch with drive-in collar (S): insert it and tap into position using a wood block and hammer. Latch bolt bevel must face to closing direction
Mount the exterior lever (N) on the door with the washer (0) and bottom bolt (P). The middle bolt of the lever must pass through the slot on the latch (Q).
Mount the interior lever (V) on the door with two bolts (W).
Ensure that the door frame hole is at least 1″ (25 mm) deep.
Mount the strike plate (U) on the door frame with two screws (T).
Use template to mark holes on door. Fold template along fold lineand place it along the door edge. Select the drilling point for different door thickness: 1-3/8″ (35 mm). 1-9/16″ (40 mm) or 1-3/4″ (45 mm)
Drill the pairs of holes using chisel and circular drill bits.
NOTICE Drill from one side until the drill just breaks through, then
complete hole from the other side to prevent wood from splintering.
Place the template on the door aligning the hole marking with the door hole. Mark the bottom screw hole on door.
Drill a hole on the marked position using 03/8″ (10 mm) drill bit. Mark the outline of the face plate (E, R). Chisel 5/32″ (4mm) deep for the face plate (E) and 1/8* (3mm) deep for the face plate (R). Mark the positions of the screw holes. Drill two 1″ (25 mm) deep holes using 1/8″ (3 mm) drill bit.
Close the door and mark the top and bottom position of the latch across the door frame. Open the door and measure the distance X from the exterior door edge to the flat end of the latch.
Mark a vertical line on the door frame for the measured distance X from the outside to the inside. Position the strike plate (H, U) within the guidelines. Mark and drill two 1° (25 mm) deep screw holes using 1/8″ (3 mm) drill bit.
Mark and drill a 1″ (25 mm) deep hole for the electronic lock and a 1/2″ (13 mm) deep hole for the passage lever at intersection of horizontal and vertical line of the cutout of the strike plate (H. U). Chisel 5/64″ (2 mm) deep for the strike plate (H) and 1/16″ (1.6 mm) deep for the strike plate (S).
