This document provides basic information about Murata Type2AB EVB, mainly including hardware setting and related documents list.

About this document
There are two main versions of Type2AB EVB, the latest one is Rev4.0 (PCB version: JS-1055), old one is Rev3.0 (PCB version: JS-0989), the main difference of two EVB versions is antenna design.
The legacy Rev3.0 JS-0989 EVB is EOL and will no longer be provided to customers. However, considering that some users may still be using them, we retain the description of the old EVB in this document.

muRata JS 0989 Type2AB UWB Module EVB - Description

Make sure the power supply jumper setting is the same as the picture below. If you plan to choose a different power supply method, pleaser refer to page 10 ~13 for the power supply options.
Connect EVB to PC via USB interface J14 and check if the COM port appeared on Device Manager correctly. The COM port number, e.g. COM19, may vary depending on the actual environment.
If the COM port doesn’t appear correctly, please download the virtual COM port driver from the link below and reinstall it properly.

Open Serial port tool on PC. Set the serial parameter as below.
Baud rate = 115200
Data = 8
Parity = None
Stop = 1
Flow control = None
Press reset button, if +EVENT=0,0,0 appear on serial tool, it will be indicated the EVB work correctly.
The default preprogrammed firmware in Type2AB EVB is TestFW (v0.6.0).
It’s mainly used for UWB RF testing and BLE function testing. Please refer to [1] for more details about TestFW.

Please make sure the module is powered on during FW programming . Refer to page 10-12 for the power supply options.
