ONE SIZE hood in flame retardant (FR) cotton fabric and Kevlar (Dupont) stitching.

WARNINGS

Before use, visually inspect the product to ensure it is in perfect condition. If the product is not intact (torn threading, cracks, smears), it must be replaced, since it complies with safety characteristics only if perfectly worn and in a perfect state of preservation. The equipment must not be worn where there is risk of entanglement caused by moving machine parts.
TELWIN S.p.A. cannot be held in any way liable for any damage and/or consequences resulting from improper use. The garment only provides protection for brief contact with incandescent welded parts and if there are high risks of electric shock further protective layers must be worn.

CATEGORY (Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2016/425): II

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

The product must be kept in its original packaging, in a dry place. Avoid contact with solvents which can cause alterations in the characteristics. In particularly demanding conditions or in environments with special situations, the product may be subject to sudden, unexpected deterioration not planned by the manufacturer.
Fig. A provides the meaning of the maintenance symbols (not applicable if washing is not permitted).

CLEANING

Strictly comply with the instructions on the label/marking of each garment (see Fig. B). Cleaning and/or washing treatments non-conforming with those outlined could alter the dimensions and safety characteristics of the garment. Use suitable cleaning products for the material composing the garment that are free of harmful effects for the garment and the user.

RECOMMENDED USE

The clothing worn in addition to the adequate protective equipment (welder’s helmet, protective jacket, etc.) offers further protection to the head, neck and the upper shoulders in the event of:

  • sparks generated by the welding process;
  • mechanical risks and thermal risks generated by the welding process.

The level of protection of the garment is reduced in the presence of contaminations of other flammable materials.

The increase in oxygen in the air considerably reduces protection from flame.

This PPE does not protect against:

  • chemical attack.
  • risk of entanglement caused by parts in motion.
  • risks of crossing and extinguishing the flames.
  • risks other than those specified above.

The manufacturer cannot be held liable for protection against risks differing from those contemplated in this information note relating to this PPE.

IDENTIFICATION AND CHOICE OF SUITABLE PRODUCT

The responsibility for identification and choice of adequate/suitable product (PPE) is that of the employer and must be carried out based on specific requirements in the workplace, of the risk and the relevant environmental conditions. Suitability must be checked, before use, of the model relating to personal needs.

EXPIRY DATE

In relation to natural wear of the material used to produce this PPE and the resulting reduction in mechanical quality, use is not recommended over 5 years from its manufacture/purchase. Different conditions to those recommended could reduce the life of the product.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE MARKING

A marking is applied to the product, or its interior, in a visible position, containing all the necessary elements to identify the PPE.
Fig. B provides an illustrative example with the following meaning:

  1. Manufacturer.
  2. Model and composition.
  3. CE marking.
  4. Reference standard for protective clothing used for welding.
  5. Specific pictogram for the protective clothing used for welding.
  6. Class and code letter for the performance level of the protective clothing.
  7. Max number of washes (if applicable).
  8. Read the use instructions.
  9. General reference standard for protective clothing.
  10. Specific pictogram for size designation (not present if “ONE SIZE”)
  11. Size identification.
  12. Washing symbols (if applicable).

Note: the exact values must be found directly on the protective clothing.
