GWU-HS7600 GATEWAY CONNECT USING THE GWU-HS7600 GATEWAY
The Gateway Connect is an accessory that communicates with the CODiScan™ via Bluetooth.

  • Customers can manage up to 7 devices with one gateway.
  • Gateway Connect communicates in a secure way to pair and configure the device and let it communicate with a host:
  • via USB to a fixed or vehicle-mounted computer
  • via Wi-Fi to send data to a cloud.
  • The Wi-Fi capabilities of the gateway can be also exploited by Powerscan PBT9600.
  • The label on the gateway has LED indicators that signal the GWU-HS7600 status, as explained in the table below:

CONFIGURATION

GWU-HS7600 configuration can be performed using the Datalogic Aladdin software configuration program or by reading configuration bar codes with the reader.

Datalogic Aladdin™
Datalogic Aladdin™ (available for free download from the Datalogic website) is a multi-platform utility program that provides a quick and user-friendly configuration method via the RS232/USB-COM or Ethernet interface. It also allows upgrading the software of the connected device (see the Datalogic Aladdin™ Help On-Line for more details).

Configuration Bar Codes
Link the gateway and the reader by simply reading the barcode printed on top of the gateway (connection label). Once the pairing is complete, you can configure the gateway by reading the configuration bar codes, with a CODiScan HS7600 only, on Aladdin™ or in the device manual.

GWU-HS7600 CLOUD SETUP

Access Point Configuration
The GWU-HS7600 operates as a Wi-Fi station IEEE 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz and supports the following secure connections:

  • WPA2/WPA3 Personal
  • WPA2 Enterprise PEAP, TLS and TTLS

The following sections describe how to set up a Wi-Fi connection using the Datalogic Aladdin software configurator. Please use the latest version of Aladdin available for download from https://www.datalogic.com/page/search search_txt=aladdin. Take care to install also the USB_COM driver provided with the Aladdin setup. For clarity, the device is assumed in its default configuration and connected to a free USB port, with a linked scanner (see related section). If the linked scanner is a PBT9600 follow the section “Aladdin Force Connection – Wi-Fi Enable” on page 11; if the linked scanner is a CODiScan, jump to the section “Wi-Fi Interface

  • Enable with a CODiScan” on page 13.
