Instructions

  1. This product is a camera for recording road traffic or the area close to the vehicle. Watching videos while driving (APP use) is prohibited by law or liability insurance in many states. In Germany, the driver of the vehicle is responsible for ensuring that his vision and hearing are not impaired by technical devices without a specific ban. Usage on own risk! Ampere Electronics GmbH & Co.KG is not liable for damage resulting from improper use.
  2. Due to differences in vehicle condition, driving mode and driving environment, some functions of this product may not work properly. Power failure, use beyond normal temperature and humidity, collision, memory card damage and other reasons may cause the footage cannot be recorded normally. In this case, there is no guarantee that the entire video can be saved completely. The driving video recorded by this product is for reference only.
  3. For the power supply, please use the ACC2 power supply unit for permanent installation. Other accessories may damage the dash cam. The dealer/distributor is not liable for any damage or loss of data caused as a result.
  4. The product package does not include a memory card, please purchase separately.
  5. Please use a high-quality memory card with a storage capacity of 32 – 128 GB and a transmission speed of at least Class10 standard. Inferior memory cards may encounter problems such as the nominal read and write speed not matching the actual read and write speed and the nominal capacity not matching the actual capacity. If videos are lost or corrupted due to using an inferior memory card, the company will not be held responsible.
  6. The default file format of the memory card may not match the format supported by this product. Please format the memory card in the device before using it for the first time. Do not insert or unplug the memory card while the vehicle is being started. This can damage the memory card.
  7. Please NEVER remove the memory card from the camera during operation. This can damage the memory card. Please only remove when the camera is powerless.
  8. The memory card writing speed may slow down due to long-time use, thus affecting the normal storage of videos. In this case, please replace the memory card in time. The company takes no responsibility for errors caused by the memory card.
  9. The device is equipped with a built-in super cap that cannot be removed. Batteries (battery packs or combination batteries) must not be exposed to extreme conditions such as sunlight, fire or similar overheating.
  10. If the battery deforms, swells and leaks during use or storage, stop using the device and contact customer service.
  11. Do not make the device subjected to strong shock or vibration, so as to avoid damage to the device, resulting in dysfunction or unusable.
  12. Do not use chemical solvent or detergent to clean the equipment.
  13. Please keep the product away from strong magnetic field, which may cause damage to the equipment.
  14. Do not use this product at temperatures above 60°C and below -10°C.
  15. After long-term use, the case temperature will rise. Please handle with care.

Installation

Main Device installation

Please clean the windshield before installation. Take the double-sided adhesive pad and stick it on the base plate of the front camera. Then stick the dashcam in the middle of the windshield (note the interior mirror and the field of view). Please press the bracket by hand. Make sure sure there are no bubbles under the sticker.

Route the power cable along the top of the windshield, A-pillar and glove box on the passenger side to the fuse box as shown in the image below. Connect each wire ACC2 to the correct socket in the vehicle (red, yellow, black) to provide power.

ACC2 built-in power supply:
Use the dip switches on the ACC2 to set the desired threshold voltage at which the ACC2 interrupts the power supply to the dashcam. This ensures that the vehicle battery is not deeply discharged.

Note for the ACC2:

  • ACC2 must not be used in vehicles with battery management. If it is connected anyway, the function of the ACC2 and the Dash Cam is not guaranteed.
  • ACC2 only allows parking mode / motion detection function.

Adjust the according to the APP device angel of the dashcam preview. The can be rotated 60 degrees. (See image below)

Rear Camera installation

Please clean the rear window before installation. Take the double-sided adhesive pad and stick it on the base plate of the rear camera. Then stick the camera in the middle of the rear window (note the field of view). Please press the bracket by hand. Make sure there are no bubbles under the sticker.

Route the rear camera connection cable (8m included) as shown in the figure below and connect it to the front camera. There are two possibilities:

Method 1: Route the rear camera connection cable under the headliner.
Method 2: Route the rear camera connection cable under the carpet or behind the panels.

The rear camera can be rotated 360° in the housing, making the positioning (left/right) of the mount universal.
If you see an incorrect / mirrored image from the rear camera, you can change this in the APP. Which means that a different type of installation in the rear area is possible.

This product has only one key on the camera. Press the button for different lengths of time to access different functions.

The button on the front camera has an integrated LED that indicates the following actions.

Note:

  • Parking mode (triggered via G-sensor) and motion detection is only possible in connection with the ACC2 and activation in the APP.
  • Emergency recordings and recordings triggered by the G-sensor are saved in the events folder at the end of the recording.

Download and Install the APP

This product must be used in combination with an app. For Android phones, please search Ampere DC2 in Google Play Store, download and install it. For iOS version, please search Ampere DC2 to install in Apple App Store.

In order to change the settings in the dashcam, a WiFi connection must first be established between the mobile phone/tablet and the dashcam.

Set functions in the APP

Microphone
Here the internal microphone of the dash cam is switched ON or OFF.
Parking Surveillance
Toggles parking mode ON/OFF. This is triggered by the G-sensor and the recording is saved w saved in the normal folder it in the first 5 minutes after switching off the ignition f the ignition is off for more than 5 minutes, the recording is saved in the . I Parking folder.
Time Lapse Recording
This function compresses 30-minute recordings are compressed into a 1-minute video. If the time-lapse recording is active >> motion detection is deactivated. Function is switched on with ignition OFF. The files can be found in the Lapse Files folder.
Reversing camera mirroring
If you see a wrong / mirrored image of the rear camera, YOU can change this in the APP. This allows a different type of mounting in the rear area.
Video Mode
Changes the resolution of the recording (2K – 4K), thereby changing / optimizing the storage volume of the SD card.
Language Settings
Select your desired language here.
Loop Recording
With this setting, you change the recording length of the video sequence (1 min. or 3 min.).
Attention: The Ampere dashcam does not store a continuous video. Otherwise the created file would be too big.
Volume
Use the four dots to set the volume of the speech output. If it is switched on, every action is commented by the DC (e.g. “emergency recording started”).
Motion Detection
With the 4 options, the sensitivity of the motion detection can be adjusted. The motion detection recording is saved in the “Event” folder.
G-Sensor Sensitivity Setting
The sensitivity of the G-Sensor can be adjusted in three levels (low, medium, high) in the app. In contrast to the high setting, the low setting requires a much stronger impact, e.g. emergency braking, in order for the recording to be saved.
Time Setting
Allows correction or modification of the displayed time.
Factory Setting
Dashcam is reset to default settings.
Format SD Card
The inserted SD card will be formatted and all files will be deleted.
