Welcome
Congratulations on selecting the Domaille Engineering Air Cleanse Cleaning Wand Kit, a hand-held cleaning system designed for removing media from the polishing fixture, film, and machine. This User’s Guide will assist you in the setup, operation and maintenance of the CW-2000/CW-3000 Air Cleanse System to maximize the use and life of the equipment.
Overview
The CW-2000/CW-3000 Air Cleanse Cleaning Wand Kit is an innovative hand held
cleaning wand with an integrated pressurized fluid and filter system for a
debris free cleaning operation.
The Air Cleanse system was developed to address the concern over improper
cleaning methods that were scratching the fiber end face. The Air Cleanse can
accurately spray air, fluid or a pressurized mist. The Air Cleanse wand comes
with a special 2m filtering system that eliminates variables associated with
contaminated cleaning fluids.
Parts & Functions
Unpacking & Setup
-
Remove all components from the shipping container. Kit will include tank, air and water lines, cleaning wand, cleaning wand holder, filter and fittings.
An optional extension kit, CW-2001, is available to link two machines to one cleaning station. -
CAUTION: ENSURE AIR LINE SHUT OFF VALVE IS CLOSED AND PULL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE TO REMOVE ANY PRESSURIZED AIR.
-
Lift handle on top of tank and remove pressure lid.
-
Add deionized water to 2” below pressure lid. Do not overfill tank.
-
Secure pressure lid on top of tank. Make sure handle is in the closed position (fully seated in down position).
-
Push filter into water outlet on tank. Be sure to orientate filter with flow arrow up (away from tank).
-
Insert water and air tubing through wand holder. Pull tubing through until the wand sets in the holder.
-
Connect cleaning wand blue water line to fitting on water filter.
-
Connect cleaning wand red air line to manifold fitting.
-
Insert ¼” air line into inlet on manifold.
-
Place splice “T” fitting of ¼” air line into the air supply line at the back of Domaille Engineering polishing machine.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE AIR SUPPLY IS OFF BEFORE DISCONNECTING AIR LINE FROM POLISHING MACHINE. -
Mount Wand Holder under Domaille polishing machine front rubber foot. Rubber foot will hold the wand mount in place. NOTE: WAND HOLDER MUST HANG OVER THE EDGE OF SURFACE TO LAY FLAT.
Refill Water
- To refill water, repeat process steps 1-5. (Unpacking & Setup section)
Precautions
WARNING: Do not use an air hose on or around the Domaille Engineering
polishing machine platen. This forces water and contaminants into the
precision wear surfaces and mechanical drive unit, potentially causing machine
failure. Damage caused by the air hose use is not covered under warranty.
WARNING: Air Cleanse system uses pressurized air. Be sure to relieve air
pressure from the system before attempting to remove air or water lines, or
pressurized lid.
WARNING: System is designed for a maximum liquid pressure of 0.5 bar (~7
PSI) or less. Do not tamper with equipment to increase the liquid pressure.
WARNING: Due to air pressure above 30 PSI, user should wear eye
protection when using this system.
System Operation
- The Air Cleanse system is designed to work with the Domaille Engineering polishing machines and fixtures. The fixture should be in the up position with the drip tray underneath and surrounded by the optimal splash guard to contain the water.
- The left button (identified with water drop) will spray water only when pressed.
- The right button (identified with air blast) will blow air only when pressed.
- Holding both buttons down at the same time will produce a pressurized mist.
Maintenance
- The water filter should be replaced periodically to prevent contamination of the water.
Recommended replacement is every 3 months (quarterly).
