Safety instructions
- The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Protect the product from dirt, moistureand overheating and use it in dry environments only.
- Donot use the product in areas in which electronic products arenot permitted.
- Donot use the product in adampenvironment and avoid splashing water.
- Donot drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Never apply force when using the product or during installation.
- The battery is permanently installed and cannot be removed;dispose of the product as awhole in accordance with the statutory regulations.

System requirements
The keyboardsupports Bluetooth® -enableddevices with the iOS,iPadOS,
MacOS,Android and Windows operating systems.
The following requirements must be met to enable its use:
- iPaddevices requireiPadOS 14 or higher
- iPhone devices requireiOS 14 or higher
- Android devices requireAndroid 8.0 or higher
- Windows devices requireWindows 10 or higher
- MacOS 11 or higher
Check whetherthe latest version is installedand carry out asoftwareupdate if necessary.
Note
- For proper functioningofthe Bluetooth® keyboard, make surethat the correct keyboardlayout (QWERTZ, QWERTY, etc.) is activated in the settings of your device.
- Please be awarethat your device must support some functions if they aretobeused.
- If some of the keys of the Bluetooth® keyboard do not function properly on your device due to software, you can execute them via the virtual keyboard.
- Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for moreinformation.
Setup
Warning -rechargeable battery
- Only use suitable chargingdevices or USB ports to charge the product.
- Donot use defective chargers or USB ports and do not attempt to repair them.
- Donot overcharge the product or allow the battery to completely discharge.
- Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).
- When stored over alongperiod of time, batteries should be charged regularly (at least every three months).
- Only charge batteries within atemperaturerange of 10°C -40°C.
Note
- The enclosed USB cable is only used for charging this product. It is not suitable for charging other devices or for transferring data.
- Fully charge the battery of the Bluetooth® keyboard once beforeusing it for the first time.
- Start the charging process of the Bluetooth® keyboard by connecting the enclosedUSB-C charging cable to the USB-C socketofthe keyboard(7) and to the USB port of aPC/notebook.
- Alternatively,you can charge the Bluetooth® keyboard using asuitable USBcharger.Todothis, consult the operating instructions for the USBcharger youare using.
- The charging status LED (5) lights up redwhen charging is active. Once the battery is fully charged, the charging status LED (5) goes out again.
- If the battery capacity is low,the charging status LED (6) starts to flash redduring operation. Then charge the battery of the Bluetooth® keyboardasdescribed above.
Note -Stand function
- For optimum handling, secureyour device in the tabletcase and use the integratedstand function.
- Todothis, fold back the flap of the tablet case and attach it using the magnet (C).
- Carefully attach your tabletPCtothe holder using the rubberstraps. Choose the tabs that willholdyour tabletPCsecurely.
- Toremovethe tablet PC,carefully pullone tab at a time over the corners of your tabletPC.
Operation
Note
- The functions described in this section areonly possible with Bluetooth® -enabled devices.
- Note that the maximum range for Bluetooth® is 10 metres without obstacles such as walls, people, etc.
7.1 Bluetooth® initial connection (pairing)
Note -pairing
- Make surethat your Bluetooth® -enabled deviceis switched on and that Bluetooth® is activated.
- Make surethat your Bluetooth® -enabled deviceis visible to other Bluetooth® devices.
- Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for moreinformation.
- Slide the OFF/ON switch (2) to the ON position to switch on the Bluetooth® keyboard. The power status LED (6) lightsuponce.
- Press and hold the Connect button (1) until the Bluetooth® connection status LED (4) starts to flash blue continuously.The keyboardsearches for a Bluetooth® connection.
- Open the Bluetooth® settings on your device and wait until the list of found Bluetooth® devices shows Hama Travel 500.
- Select Hama Travel 500,follow the instructions of your device if necessaryand wait until the keyboard is displayed as connected in your device’sBluetooth® settings. The Bluetooth® connection status LED (4) goes out.
- You can now use the Bluetooth® keyboard.
7.2 Automatic Bluetooth® connection (once pairing has been performed)
Note
- Make surethat your Bluetooth® -enableddevice is switchedonand that Bluetooth® is activated.
- Make surethat your Bluetooth® -enableddevice is visible to other Bluetooth® devices.
- Please refertothe operating instructions of your device for moreinformation.
- Slide the OFF/ON switch (2) to the ON position to switch on the Bluetooth® keyboard. The power status LED (6) lights up once.
- You can now use the Bluetooth® keyboard.
Note -connection impaired
After asuccessful initial pairing, the connection is
establishedautomatically.Ifthe Bluetooth® connection is not established
automatically,check the following:
- Inyour device’s Bluetooth® settings, check that Hama Travel 500 is connected. If not, repeat the steps described in 6.1. Bluetooth® initial connection.
- Check whether obstaclesare impairing the range. If so, move the devices closer together.
7.3 Operating system change
The Hama Travel 500 keyboardsupports three different operating systems. Youcan
select the desired operating systemwith the following keycombinations:
- Fn+Qfor Apple iOS,iPadOS,MacOS
- Fn+Wfor Android
- Fn+Efor Windows
7.4 Multimedia keys
The multimedia keys allow direct quick access to various applications and
functions, which you can use with the key combination of Fn and the respective
multimedia key.
Note
Possibly limited usability with the Android, iOS, iPadOS and MacOS operating
systems.
7.5 Standby and switch off
- The keyboard automatically switches to standby mode if it is not used for morethan 10 minutes.
- Press any key to reactivate the keyboard.
- Move the OFF/ON switch (2) to the OFF position to switch the Bluetooth® keyboardoff.
Care and maintenance
- Only clean this product using alint-free, slightly damp cloth and do not use any harshcleaners. Ensurethat no water is able to enter theproduct.
