Product Usage Instructions

Bluetooth Pairing

To pair the C200 device with a host, follow these steps:

  1. Scan the About MAC Address QR code to obtain the MAC address of the C200.
  2. Generate a Scan to Pair QR code with the format ^%%##^CodeC0=MACADDRESS, where MACADDRESS is the 12-digit MAC address of the target host with all alpha characters capitalized.
  3. Visit the Cubetape website to create the pairing barcode in the correct format: Cubetape QR Network Access
  4. Scan the Scan to Pair QR code with the C200 device. Accept the pairing request on the host device to complete the connection. The C200 LED will turn solid blue indicating a successful connection.

NFC Tag Connection

To establish a connection using the NFC tag, follow these steps:

  1. Bring the static NFC tag on the C200 close to an NFC Reader.
  2. Accept the connection sequence on the host device after bringing the tag close. User dialogue may vary based on platforms and versions.
  3. Select “Yes” followed by “Pair” to complete the connection. The C200 LED will turn solid blue upon successful connection.

Bluetooth Pairing Options

Host Utility and Label| The format and content of the label depend on the third-party utility, but the MAC address of a given C200 can be output by scanning the About MAC Address QR code.|
---|---|---
Scan to Pair QR Code| The Scan to Pair QR code needs to contain the following data: ^%%##^CodeC0=MACADDRESS where MACADDRESS is the 12-digit Mac address of the target host with all alpha characters capitalized. For example, a mobile device with a BT MAC Address of b4:f1:dA:28:91:94 requires encoded data of:

^%%##^CodeC0=B4F1DA289194

There is a QR code generator at the Cubetape website that will produce pairing barcodes in the correct format: https://cubetape.com/qr-network- access

When C200 scans the Scan to Pair QR code a pairing request is received at the host which requires user acceptance before the connection is completed.  (User dialogue may vary on different platforms and versions – an example is from Android 14).

Selecting Pair completes the connection, the C200 LED goes solid blue and data can be transferred to the host.

NFC Tag| C200 contains a static NFC tag adjacent to the scan engine. When the tag is brought close to an NFC Reader, a connection sequence starts and completes after User acceptance. (User dialogue may vary

on different platforms and versions – an example is from Android 14).

Selecting Yes followed by P completes the connection, the C200 LED goes solid blue and data can  be transferred to

the host.

When using Bluetooth there are four methods of pairing a C200 with a host system:

  • Manually using the Pair New Device dialogue on the host.

  • Using a 3rd Party Utility to scan a barcode containing the Bluetooth MAC address of the C200.
This requires a 3rd party utility along with a pairing label fixed to the C200.

  • Scanning a C200 Scan to Pair QR code containing the MAC address of the host which initiates a connection from the C200.

  • Reading the C200 NFC tag with an integrated reader to initiate the connection using NFC.
