Adjustment MEZ-MESZ

(Greenwich mean time – British summer time)

  • Summer time/winter time needs to be set manually. In addition, an adjustment period of 1-14 days can be set.
o Set number of days with keys or
    o Confirm with the key

  • Confirm the „save now?“ query
o with yes The time and date have been updated.

  • Confirm the “Set int. time” query
o with yes The internal clock will immediately be set to the new time.
When setting thetimein thefirst instance, thisshould be confirmed with yes
o When confirming with no The internal clock will be adjusted within the set number of days as above under Adjustment MEZ-MESZ

Example When setting 10 days, this will result in 60:10 = 6 minutes per day.
If you would like a graduated adjustment when changing from GMT to BST (or vice versa) the update internal time query must be confirmed with no Note Two clocks run in the LED Control. One clock displays the actual („our“) time which can also be seen on the display. The device also operates a second (internal) clock which controls the automatic processes such as dimming. Both clocks function in the usual way except when setting the actual time (e.g. switching between winter time/summer time). In this case the internal clock is not adjusted immediately but within the set number of days so long as the “Set int. time” query has been confirmed with no.

Illumination

LED Control can control up to 2 Trocal LED lights each with 2 separate channels (i.e. a total of 4 illumination channels) independently of one another.
Note The progression of each channel can be individually set.
The Trocal freshwater LED models each have two channels.
Channel 1 is the warmer lighting colour and channel 2 is the colder lighting colour. This makes it possible to change the lighting colour throughout the day.
The Trocal Marinus LED models each have two channels.
Channel 1 has the white LEDs and channel 2 has the blue LEDs. This makes it possible to achieve effects such as moonlight or to adapt the ratio of blue to white depending on the needs of the animals inside.

Illumination run
  • “Channel to edit” query.Set the desired channel using keys ↑ or ↓
    o Confirm with key

  • “Channel active” query.
    o no Channel is deactivated
o yes Query “Number of dimm-points” (4-8)Set with keys ↑ or ↓ desired no.Confirm with the key

  • Programming the dim-points
o Time – at this time, the light should have the level of brightness that is subsequently set
o Light intensity (0% – 100%) – brightness of the light at this time
    o Continue with

  • Select simulation “Select simul.”
o Using keys or moon phase simulation can be switched on or off for this channel
    o Confirm with the key
Note The brightness operation between the individual times is automati cally calculated.

Shift curves

This function conveniently allows entire illumination curves to be delayed.

  • Selecting or deselecting the curve to be delayed Navigate with the keys ↑ or ↓ at the desired channel and select using keys ← or → whether this curve should be delayed
  • Confirm with the key
  • “Shift by” query Set the time in minutes by which the previously selected illumination curves should be delayed
  • Confirm with the key
Note LED Control now automatically re-calculates all times in the selected dim curves and saves these under 2.1. The delaying process can be repeated as many times as desired or cancelled at the corresponding setting.

Note LED Control now automatically re-calculates all times in the selected dim curves and saves these under 2.1. The delaying process can be repeated as many times as desired or cancelled at the corresponding setting.

Manual illumination “Manu. illuminat.”

This menu is primarily intended for testing and diagnosis purposes.

  • Select the channel where you would like to change the brightness using the keys ← or →
  • Using the keys   or ↓ you can make the selected channel brighter or darker
  • The manual illumination can be completed with
  • After completing, the settings are not retained
Moon

In this menu it is possible to set in which time period the moon-phase simulation is activated. The moon-phase simulation does not „create“ moonlight, but simply changes the curve programmed under 2.1 as moonlight.

  • Simulation start Enter the start time for the moon-phase simulation
  • Simulation end Enter the end time for the moon-phase simulation

The start and end times of the moon-phase simulation must be set such that they include the time period for the nightly moonlight of the appropriate channel. If, for example, the channel is programmed such that it lights up from 22:00 to 07:00 (previously set under 2.1 , see example 2D ), the moon-phase simulation should also be set from 22:00 to 07:00.
Moon

The moon phases in the LED Control are calculated based on the date such that the full moon and new moon are always in line with the actual (real) phases of the moon with a maximum discrepancy of one day.
Please note that the moon-phase simulation must be active in the desired illumination channels; see 2.1. (Illumination run) The following will now occur for the active illumination channels within the set time: The brightness that the illumination channel would have had according to its programmed curve will be multiplied by the current moon-phase brightness. This means that during this time frame, the actual brightness will be reduced corresponding to the natural phase of the moon.
Example In the case of a natural moon brightness on this day of 50% and a moonlight brightness pre programmed under 2.1 of 20% this will result in an actual channel brightness of 50% x 20% = 10%
Note When selecting moon-phase simulation OFF the moonlight under 2.1 will mean full moon every night.
Recommen- With Trocal LED freshwater we recommend using only channel 2 dation (colder light colour) and using a light intensity which is close to nature, i.e. low intensity

Time lapse

The time lapse is intended for testing and presentation purposes. Using this function it is possible to view the set illumination programme in high speed. There is a manual time lapse function (shown in the top right by „M“) and an automatic time lapse function (shown by „A“). It is possible to switch between both modes by pressing In the manual time lapse mode it is possible to set the point in time and the LED Control shows the illumination programmed for this time. For this use the 4 cursor keys.

During automatic time lapse, the time to be simulated will be continuously counted up. It is possible to set the speed of the time lapse. Set the duration in seconds required for the simulation of 24 hours. For this use the 4 cursor keys.  stops the time lapse.

Acclimatisation “Acclimation”

The acclimatisation function offers a simple and convenient option for automatically changing the brightness of the illumination over several days. This is useful, for instance, when plants are to acclimatise to a new illumination or if fish/corals are to be inserted for the first time.
Start Date the acclimatisation begins immediately and continues until the start date set under Start brightness Start brightness “Start Light intensity” all channels will be multiplied with this value at the start of the acclimatisation End date the acclimatisation ends on this day End brightness “End Light intensity” all channels will be multiplied with this value at the end of the acclimatisation During acclimatisation, a dim factor is calculated daily. The individual illumination curves are converted using this factor.
Example:Start on 01/01/2016 with 50%, end on 03/01/2016 with 100% The illumination is then immediately operated at 50% of the usually set brightness until 01/01/2016, on the second day with 75% and on the last day 100%.

Tips:

  • This function is ideal for converting an aquarium with a lighting tube to LED technology. Depending on difference in output between the existing and new system, we recommend a „ graduated adjustment“ over 4-6 weeks.
  • This function enables the convenient illumination of all 4 channels to be simultaneously reduced by a certain percentage, which can be very helpful in combating algae.

Factory settings

After selecting this function, you will be asked whether you would like to revert to the factory settings. If you confirm with yes, all settings will return to their initial state!

PIN

A personal identification number (PIN) is provided to protected the device against changes to settings by unauthorised persons. The factory PIN is set to 0000. When the PIN is set to 0000, all changes can be made without entering a PIN. Once the PIN differs from 0000, the PIN needs to be entered before each setting. This also applies for changing the PIN.
If you have Switch off the device (remove plug from power supply) and switch forgotten on again (re-insert the plug into the power supply). Immediately the PIN afterwards, while the status and greeting display is visible, press and simultaneously. You will then be asked Delete PIN?
After confirming with yes the PIN will return to the factory setting (0000 – deactivated).
