Bundle
Thank you for choosing Talking Products Ltd. We hope you enjoy using this MP3 sound module and we are here for support if you need any assistance. Please see contact details overleaf. Please read these instructions carefully and retain for reference.
Battery Power
The Battery Holder requires 3x 1.5V AAA batteries, (not included). Alkaline
batteries are recommended.
Rechargeable NiMH AAA Batteries can also be used.
Slide the power switch to the OFF position and insert the batteries according
to the polarity, (see diagram).
The plug from the Battery Holder must be plugged into the Power Socket, ‘BAT’,
(see diagram).
Note: The Operating Voltage range of this module is 4.5 to 6 Volts.
This voltage range provides the option to use alterative Battery Holders, such
as 4x 1.5V AA batteries or 4x 1.5V D Cell batteries.
Alternative Power Supplies
The USB socket can also be used to supply to the module. Disconnect the
Battery Holder and choose another power source such as a USB Power Bank or an
AC Mains Power Adapter. Max input 6 Volts.
How to download your MP3 sound file(s)
Connect the module to a spare USB port on a computer via the USB Socket, (USB
cable not included). Once the module is recognised by the computer as a
‘Removable Disk’, you will be able to drag and drop MP3 files into the
internal memory of the module.
There are four folders in the memory, named ButtonS1, ButtonS2, ButtonS3 and ButtonS4. These folders relate to the Play Buttons on the module. MP3 files in the folder named ‘ButtonS1’ will be activated by the
Play Button that is plugged into the socket marked ‘S1’, and MP3 files in the
folder named ‘ButtonS2’ will be activated by the Play Button that is plugged
into the socket marked ‘S2’, etc etc.
Notes: Remove any unwanted files from the memory. You may load as many
files as you wish into each folder, but the total size of all folders must not
exceed 8MB. We recommend that your MP3 files are Mono, 128kbps, 44.1kHz, 16
Bit. Please also ensure that your file name does not include any symbols,
such as – #”>+/etc.
When you have finished downloading your sound files, disconnect the module from the computer by disconnecting the USB cable.
Play Buttons
There are four Play Buttons included in the pack. Plug one button into each of the sockets marked ‘S1, S2, S3 and S4’ as required.
Speaker
The phono plug from the Speaker must be plugged into the Speaker Socket marked
‘SPK’.
Note: Alternative speakers can be connected to the module using the ‘SPK’
socket. The module can also be connected to an AUX socket on any external
speaker to achieve a louder playback volume. The cable length could also be
extended by using a 3.5mm Phono Extension Cable, (bought separately).
Volume Control
Slide the Volume Control Switch left or right to adjust the sound volume to
your required level.
Optional LED Lights
Sockets marked L1, L2, L3 and L4 can be used to add LED Lights to your module if required. An LED Light set can be purchased separately from our website, www.Talking Products.com, or please call Customer Services for assistance.
Sockets marked P1, P2, P3 and P4 are used to turn the LED Lights ON and OFF. The ON/OFF Buttons are included in the LED Light set.
How to playback sounds
Slide the power switch on the Battery Holder to the ON position. Press one of
the Play Buttons once to hear a sound. If you wish to stop the playback at any
time, press the button again. If you have downloaded more than one sound file
in a folder, each time you press the button one sound will play.
Note: Your sounds will playback in a numerical or alphabetical sequence
based on the file names. Sounds will not play randomly.
Troubleshooting
a) This module will only play sound files saved in MP3 format. The total size
of your file(s) cannot exceed 8MB. Try editing to make your file size smaller.
Methods include, i) Reducing playback time, ii) Changing the sound file from
Stereo to Mono, or i) Altering the sample rate. If you require assistance with
editing, please contact us and we will try to help.
b) Adjust the Volume Control switch to improve sound quality. MP3 file volume
levels can also be adjusted when editing.
c) Please note MP3 files created using iTunes are not compatible.
d) Use a ‘Data Transfer’ type USB cable to connect the module to your
computer. Note some USB cables cannot transfer files.
e) Special note for MAC users. When you delete unwanted sound files from the
module, please ensure that you also delete the files from your computer’s
Recycle Bin. This will ensure the files have been completely removed from the
memory.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please DO NOT re-format this module using a MAC computer. This will permanently damage the module and it cannot be repaired. If you need to re-format your module, please only use a Windows PC using FAT or FAT32.
Mounting Holes
The two Mounting Holes can be used to fix or hold the module in position
for your craft or model.
Example: Screw or Cable Tie.

Palm Module
When preparing the sounds you wish to play, please refer to the instructions for the Sound Module. The wires from the Palm Module must be plugged into the sockets marked S1, S2 and S3. The three buttons on the Palm module will activate the sounds stored on the memory inside the sound module. Please note which wires plug into which socket, so you can organise which sounds are played when each button is pressed.
The Wrist Pocket is made from stretch fabric, one size fits all. There are two stretch pouches, one on the front and one on the rear. The Sound Module, Battery Pack and Speaker Module can be stored in either of these pouches. There are holes in the Wrist Pocket that allow you to feed cables through. Please note that there are also two hidden holes inside that allow you to feed wires between the front and rear pouches.
The hole at the rear of the Wrist Pocket will allow you to feed wires from the Sound Module out to a Power Bank or Sound Amplifier that you may have stored in a different area of your costume.
Please note that if you do prefer to use a Power Bank and a Sound Amplifier, you will not need to connect and store the Battery Box and Speaker Module that is supplied with the pack. This will reduce the amount of bulk in the Wrist Pocket.
