Practice Before Use

Failure to follow the below instructions may result in serious injury or damage to the electric power wheelchair. Before venturing onto the roads, find an open area such as a park, and invite a friend to accompany you till you master the operations. The power button should always be off before you get on or off the seat. Set the speed control button appropriately for the vicinity in which you are travelling. We advise you to keep a slow speed until you are familiar with handling this wheelchair.

Forward, reverse, and stop operations.

  • Simply push the joystick gently in the direction you wish to move. The further you push the joystick, the faster the chair will move in that direction. Maximum speed in any direction depends on the speed range selected. Tums should be made at a slower speed.
  • When moving in reverse, a beeping signal will sound to alert people in the vicinity. Note that, whenever possible, it is preferable to make a 180 degree tum (rather than going in reverse) so that you can better see where you are going and what might be in your way.
  • To STOP movement in any direction, simply let go of the joystick; it will automatically return to its neutral center position and the motors will disengage. Note that, depending on how fast you were moving, you momentum may prevent an immediate stop. This is especially true when going downhill.
