Cautions and Warnings
- READ THIS ENTIRE MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
- Use only Exbrite replacement parts.
- To reduce the risk of personal injury, attach the fan directly to the support structure of the building according to these instructions, and use only the hardware supplied.
- To avoid possible electrical shock, before installing your fan, disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box and associated wall switch location. If you cannot lock the circuit breakers in the off position, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
- All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes and ANSI/NFPA 70. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, use a qualified electrician.
- To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not bend the blade attachment system when installing, balancing, or cleaning the fan. Never insert foreign objects between rotating fan blades.
- To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or motor damage, do not use a solid-state speed control with this fan. Use only Exbrite speed controls
NOTE : The important safety precautions and instructions appearing in the manual are not meant to cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood that common sense and caution are necessary factors in the installation and operation of this fan.
Parts Inventory
Carefully open the packaging. Remove items from Styrofoam inserts. Remove the motor housing and place it on carpet or Styrofoam to avoid damage to the finish. Check against the parts inventory that all parts have been included.
- Download and hang ball
Installation Preparation
To prevent personal injury and damage, ensure that the hanging location allows
the blades a clearance of 2.3m from the floor and 76cm from any wall or
obstruction.
Be sure the outlet box is securely attached to the building structure and can
support the full weight of the fan.
Preparing the Fan Site
Download Installation
This fan can be mounted with a download on a normal or vaulted ceiling.
The hanging length can be extended by a longer download.
Installation requires these tools:
Screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver, adjustable pliers or wrench, stepladder,
wire cutters, and rated electrical tape.
Installing the Hanger Bracket
Please tighten the bracket in the wood ceiling with tapping screws.
Please drill a p8mm hole in the concrete ceiling, and insert the bolt. Align the bracket with the hole, then tighten it with the nut.
Step2: Assembling and Hanging the Fan
If you wish to extend the hanging length of your fan, you must remove the
hanging ball from the 6-inch downrod provided to use with an extended downrod
(included). (If you wish to use the 6-inch download, please proceed to the
instructions below.)
To remove the hanging ball, loosen the set screw on the hanging ball and
remove the pin and clip. Lower the hanging ball and remove the stop pin. Slide
the hanging ball off the original download A, and slide it down the longer
download B (the top of the download should be noted as having a set screw
hole; use this hole when setting the set screw). Insert the stop pin into the
top of the extended download and raise the hanging ball. Be sure the stop pin
aligns with the slots on the inside of the hanging ball, and tighten the set
screw securely.
Tip: To prepare for threading electrical wires through the download, apply a
small piece of electrical tape to the ends of electrical wires-this will keep
the wires together when threading them through the download.
Loosen yoke set screws and nuts at top of the motor housing. Remove the pin
and clip from the download (if you have not already done so). Slide download
through the canopy.
Tread electrical wires through the download and pull extra wire slack from the
upper end of the download.
Place the download into the motor housing yoke and ew-insert pin and clip that
were previously removed. Tighten yoke set screws and nut securely. Lower
canopy to the motor housing.
Step3: Remote control connection
Canopy Assembly
Raise the canopy to hang the bracket, aligning loosened screws in the hanging bracket with slotted holes in the canopy. Twist the canopy to lock. Re-insert screws and secured all screws with a screwdriver. With a hanging bracket secured to the outlet box and able to support the fan, you are now ready to hang your fan. Grab the fan firmly with two hands. Slide download through the opening in the hanging bracket and let the hanging ball rest on the hanging bracket. Turn the hanging ball slot until It lines up with the hanging bracket tab. Tip: Seek the help of another person to hold the stepladder in place and lift the fan up to you once you are set on the ladder.
Blade Assembly
First of all, please refer to step A in diagram 1. Fix blades on connectors by
screws, then refer to step B in diagram 1, fix connectors on the motor by
screws
Time Saver. Washers for blade screws can be set on each blade screw prior to
installing blades.
Align blade holes with motor screw holes, Securing tighten all the screws once
all the blades are attached. Before securing screws permanently, repeat with
the remaining blade arms.
Note : Tighten blade screws twice.
LED Pan Assembly
Unscrew a set screw. Attach the LED pan up to the bottom of the fan by
Inserting the other two set screw heads into keyhole slots, rotate it to
place, then secure the previous set screw by aligning the screw hole and the
hole at the bottom of the fan, tightening the rest two set screw to secure LED
pan.
NOTE : While Installing or removing the LED pan, please keep the
insulation pads Intact carefully. Turning the set screws over tightly or fast
will damage the insulation pads.
Lamp Shade Assembly
Unscrew a set screw. Attach the LED pan up to the bottom of the fan by
inserting the other two set screw heads into keyhole slots, rotate it to
place, then secure the previous set screw by aligning the screw hole and the
hole at the bottom of the fan, tightening the rest two set screw to secure LED
pan.
NOTE : While installing or removing the LED pan, please keep the
insulation pads intact carefully. Turning the set screws over tightly or fast
will damage the insulation pads.
Decorative Pan Inventory
Restore the cover and the lamp shade back to the LED pan, and secure them with decorative clips and bolt nuts.
