FUR5005 Radio Alarm Clock

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Safety, Environmental and Setup Instructions

  • Use the device in dry indoor environments only.
  • Protect the device from humidity.
  • Do not open the device. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Refer opening and servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Connect this device to a properly installed and earthed wall outlet only. Make sure the mains voltage corresponds with the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Make sure the mains cable stays dry during operation. Do not pinch or damage the mains cable in any way.
  • A damaged mains cable or plug must immediately be replaced by an authorized service center.
  • In case of lightning, immediately disconnect the device from the mains supply.
  • Children should be supervised by parents when using the device.
  • Clean the device with a dry cloth only.  Do NOT use CLEANING AGENTS or ABRASIVE CLOTHS!
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or other heat sources.
  • Install the device at a location with sufficient ventilation in order to prevent heat accumulation.
  • Do not cover the ventilation openings!
  • Install the device at a safe and vibration-free location.
  • Install the device as far away as possible from computers and microwave units; otherwise radio reception may be disturbed.
  • Do not open or repair the enclosure. It is not safe to do so and will void your warranty. Repairs only by authorized service/ customer center.
  • Only use mercury and cadmium-free batteries.
  • Used batteries are hazardous waste and NOT to be disposed of with the household waste!!! Return the batteries to your dealer or to collection points in your community.
  • Keep batteries away from children. Children might swallow batteries. Contact a physician immediately if a battery was swallowed.
  • Check your batteries regularly to avoid battery leakage.
  • Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  • CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced
  • Replace only with the same or equivalent type

This product contains a coin/button cell battery.
If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children.
If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

Used batteries are hazardous waste and NOT to be disposed of with the household waste! As a consumer you are legally obligated to return all batteries  for environmentally responsible recyling – no matter whether or not the batteries contain harmful substances *).
Return batteries free of charge to public collection points in your community or to shops selling batteries of the respective kind.

Only return fully discharged batteries.

Before start, please read this first:

  1. This device uses CR-2032 3.0 V batteries (not included) for data backup. The battery compartment is on the bottom. Loosen the screw and lift off the battery compartment cover. Insert the battery into the battery compartment as indicated with the corresponding positive and negative polarity. Close the battery compartment and secure the cover again with the screw. Inserting the battery upside down can damage the device.
  2. Extent the wire antenna and align it.
  3. Use only the supplied AC adaptor! Connect the device to a wall socket using the mains adapter supplied.

CONNECT TO POWER

  1. Once power connected, Indicator “FM” lighten, the radio will automatically scan the radio station and store them that had been scanned until scan up all the frequency or stored all the memory station.
  2. After that, Indicator of “Update” will flashing, at the moment, device setting up clock automatic and it may need 3-5 minutes or even longer when only insufficient FMRDS signal is available.
  3. Once the setup done, the display will show real clock.

Note:
When it isn’t possible to synchronize the clock automatically, pls. set the unit to a place with better reception or set the clock manually (Setup device for advance).

QUICK START GUIDE

Listen radio

  • Press right rotary knob “ ****” (2) once to turn on radio.
  • Tune left rotary knob “Tuning” (1) to adjust frequency by each 0.1MHz.
  • Tune left rotary knob “Tuning” (1), then pressing it will scan next or previous valid station.
  • Press and hold “Mem. Set” (1), then turn it to a desired memory position, press “Mem. Set” (1) to confirm the storing.
  • Press “Preset/A.M.S.” (6), then turn “Tuning” (1) to choose from the station list and listen it.
  • Press and hold “Preset/A.M.S.”(6) to activate the AMS (automatical memory storage) function, it will scan up all the frequency and store the found stations to the preset memories.
  • Turn right rotary knob “Volume” (2) to increase or decrease the volume.
  1. Use alarm and setup it
    • Rotate the middle big button “Alarm off / AL1 / AL1+2 / AL2” (3) point to AL1
    • Press and hold “Setup” (4), and turn right rotate knob “Set” (2) to set hour.
    • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm, and turn right rotate knob “Set” (2) to set minute.
    • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm, and turn right rotate knob “Set” (2) to choose the Alarm mode is “bp” = Buzzer or e.g. “87.5” = radio (the last used frequency is shown).
    • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm, and turn right rotate knob “Set” (2) to set the alarm volume.
    • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm, and turn right rotate knob “Set” (2) to choose the alarm cycle: 1-7 (all days), 1-5 (workdays), 6-7 (weekends), or 1…2…3… to 7 (single day)
    • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and exit the setting.
    • Default snooze time is 9 minutes.
    • Same operate to set AL2.
    • Rotate the middle big button “Alarm off / AL1 / AL1+2 / AL2” point to AL1+2 which can set AL1 and AL2, set way same as separate AL1 or AL2.

  2. Using Sleep timer
    • When press “ Sleep” (5) button once, show icon (sleep), device will turn on radio and start countdown since 120 minutes, if want to change the value, press “Sleep” (5) key once within 3 seconds , press each to decrease every 5 minutes .
    • When sleep timer running, press and hold “Sleep” (5) key to stop it.

  3. Using NAP timer
    • When press “ NAP” (8) button once, show icon (NAP), device will turn on NAP timer and start countdown since 120 minutes, once timer end, device will output buzzer sound immediately ,press “ NAP” (8) to stop the sound. If want to change the value, press “NAP” (8) key once within 3 seconds, press each to decrease every 5 minutes.
    • When NAP timer running, press and hold the “NAP” (8) key to stop it if necessary.

  4. Using Date View
    • At standby or FM mode, press “Setup” (4) once key to show the date on display, press twice show the year, press three times to show the day.

  5. Manual start Time update
    • When device work on clock mode
    • Press and hold right rotary knob “Clock update” (2) once to activate RDS time update function, Icon (Update) flashing
    • Press “Clock update” (2)” once again to exit the function.

  6. Dimmer & Dimmer Timer (DT)
    • At the anytime unless during alarm active, press “SNOOZE/DIMMER“ (7) will change status of brightness of display circulate.
    • Device “Dimmer Timer “ default to be On, if want to change to be Off, go to next section “ Setup up device for advance” (DT ON = display will be dimmed from 23 to 6o clock automatically)

SETUP DEVICE FOR ADVANCE

Setup

  • Setting flow: Set 12/24H format—hour—minute— year— month—day—DT on/off (Dimmer Timer)—Update on/off—Snooze (1-60 minutes)

  • Make the middle knob “Alarm off / AL1 / AL1+2 / AL2” (3) point to “Alarm Off”,

  • Press and hold “Setup” (4) to begin the setting.

  • Turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to choose the 12 or 24 H display format.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and enter clock setting

  • Turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set the hour.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set the minute.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set the year.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set the month.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set the day.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm the setting and enter the Dimmer Timer on/off setting.

  • Turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set DT to be on or off.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and enter Time – Update on/off setting.

  • Turn right rotary knob “Set” (2) to set Update to be on or off. When time update is set to on, time update will be done by RDS time sync at 2 and 3o’ clock
    automatically every day.

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and enter Snooze setting.

  • Turn right rotary knob “Setup” (2) to set the “Snooze” time (1 – 60 minutes)

  • Press “Setup” (4) to confirm and exit the setting.
