To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods

  • Use the device in dry indoor environments only.
  • Protect the device from humidity.
  • This apparatus is for moderate climates areas use, not suitable for use in tropical climates countries.
  • No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.

Safety, Environmental and Setup Instructions

  • The mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect devices shall remain readily operable.
  • Connect this device to a properly installed and earthed wall outlet only. Make sure the mains voltage corresponds with the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Make sure the mains cable stays dry during operation. Do not pinch or damage the mains cable in any way.
  • A damaged mains cable or plug must immediately be replaced by an authorized service center.
  • In case of lightning, immediately disconnect the device from the mains supply.
  • Children should be supervised by parents when using the device.
  • Clean the device with a dry cloth only.
  • Do NOT use CLEANING AGENTS or ABRASIVE CLOTHS!
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or other heat sources.
  • Install the device at a location with sufficient ventilation in order to prevent heat accumulation.
  • Do not cover the ventilation openings!
  • Install the device at a safe and vibration-free location.
  • Install the device as far away as possible from computers and microwave units; otherwise radio reception may be disturbed.
  • Do not open or repair the enclosure. It is not safe to do so and will void your warranty. Repairs only by authorized service/ customer center.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the unit.
  • When you are necessary to ship the unit store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose.
  • In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge or fast transient (burst), remove and reconnect the power supply.
  • If the unit is not using for a long period of time, disconnect it from the power supply by unplugging the power plug. This is to avoid the risk of fire.

INSTALLATION

AC Adapter
Use only the supplied AC adapter

  1. Make sure that your mains supply matches the type plate of the mains adapter.
  2. Connect the AC adapter cable to the DC power jack and the AC adapter to a wall outlet.

BASIC OPERATION

Unit on/off
Press the “STANDBY” button to turn on or off the unit.

Selecting modes
In on mode, press the “MODE” button to switch between DAB or FM mode.

Adjust the volume
Press the “VOL +/-“ button to increase or decrease the volume.

DAB

Note: For a good reception unwrap completely the wire antenna.
Select by pressing the “MODE” button the DAB mode.

Automatic station scan
If you start the DAB mode first time, the unit start a full scan automatically and store all available radio stations. If “No station” appears in the display, reposition the antenna and start the automatic search again:

  1. Press and hold the “MENU/INFO” button until the main menu is shown in the display.
  2. Choose with “” the function “Full scan” and press the “ENTER” button.
  3. The automatic scan starts. The display shows the number of the found stations. After the scan has finished, the first found radio station can be heard.

Select a DAB station
Press the “” button to choose the desired radio station and press “ENTER” to confirm.

Store preset station
You can store up to 20 radio stations!

  1. Select the desired radio station
  2. Press and hold the “PRESET” button until “Preset Editor” is shown in the display.
  3. Choose with “” the desired preset station number and press the “ENTER” button to confirm.

Note: You can store directly three radio stations with the direct preset station buttons at the top side of the unit. Therefore press and hold the desired direct preset button until “Favourite station seted!” is shown in the display.

Recall preset station

  1. Press the “PRESET” button. “Preset Viewer” is shown in the display.
  2. Choose with the button the desired preset station number and press “ENTER” to confirm the selection.

DAB information
During the radio station is playing, press the repeatedly the “MENU/INFO” button to cycle through the information broadcasted: DLS (Dynamic Label Segment), genre (PTY), signal error, channel/frequency, audio bit rate, time/date.

FM

Note: For a good reception unwrap completely the wire antenna.
Select by pressing the “MODE” button the FM mode.

FM scan
Press and hold the “UP AND DOWN” button. The unit will start the scan and stop to the next available radio station.
To scan manual a radio station or fine tune the frequency in 100kHz steps, press the “UP AND DOWN” button.

Store preset station
Is the same as in DAB mode.

Recall preset station
Is the same as in DAB mode.

FM information
During the radio station is playing, press the repeatedly the “MENU/INFO” button to cycle through the information broadcasted: Radio text, program type, time/date.

ALARM

Setting Alarm

  1. The unit must be in standby mode. Press the “AL 1” or “AL 2” button until the alarm menu is shown in the display.

  2. The hour digits are flashing. Set with the “” button the hour of the alarm time and press “ENTER” to confirm.

  3. Now the minute digits are flashing. Set with the “” button the minutes and press “ENTER” to confirm.

  4. Select with “” the source for the alarm (DAB, FM or buzzer) and press “ENTER” to confirm.

  5. Set with the “” button the following alarm frequency and press “ENTER” to confirm:
    Daily = Every day
    Weekends = Saturday and Sunday
    Workdays = Monday to Friday
    Once = Only the next day

  6. Adjust with the “” button the alarm volume “0 – 16” and press “ENTER”

  7. Select with the “” button the function “ON” to activate the alarm and press “ENTER” to confirm.

Turn off the alarm
To stop the alarm sound, press the “STANDBY” or “AL 1” or “AL 2” button. The alarm will stop until to the next adjusted alarm time. If you don´t press the button, the alarm sound will automatically stop after 59 minutes.

Snooze
During you hear the alarm tone, press the “SNOOZE” button to temporally stop the alarm sound. The alarm tone sounds again after 9 minutes.

Turn off the alarm completely

  1. Press the desired “AL 1” or “AL 2” button until the alarm menu is shown in the display.
  2. Press repeatedly the “ENTER” button to choose the function “Alarm 1” or “Alarm 2”.
  3. Set with the “” button the function “OFF” and press “ENTER” to confirm. Now the alarm is deactivated.
  4. To activate the alarm again, repeat the steps 1 -3 and set the function to “ON”.

SLEEP
During on mode, press the “SNOOZE” button and choose with the “” button one of the following sleep time settings: Off – 5 – 15 – 30 – 45 – 60 – 90 – 120 minutes.

DIMMER
Press the repeatedly the “DIMMER” button to adjust the brightness (high, middle, low) of the display.

SYSTEM SETTINGS

Press and hold the “MENU/INFO” button to enter the main menu. Select with the “” buttons the following functions and press “ENTER”:

Full scan
Make an automatic full scan in DAB mode.

System time
Set manually the time and date.

Clock style
Set the clock style in standby mode: analog or digital.

Reset (Factory reset)
This setting clears all user-defined settings and replaces them with the original default settings.
Note: When resetting the unit to factory settings, all stored stations and settings are deleted!

Language
Set the following menu language.

About
Show the installed software version

HEADPHONE

  1. Connect your 3.5mm headphone plug to the headphone jack at the backside of the unit.
  2. Turn the unit on and the music will come through your headphone. The sound is muted in this time over the loudspeaker.

NOTE : If a headphone is connected also the alarm tone sounds over the headphone!
