Product usage
Before using the product
Tuning the guitar
You can tune the guitar using a keyboard, electric tuner or by ear. Tune the
guitar before each practice session. Sometimes, while playing, you may need to
re-tune the guitar.
Keyboard
The open strings on the guitar correspond to certain keys on a keyboard.
Press the key on the keyboard, then pluck the guitar string and adjust the tuning peg until the guitar string is in tune.
Strings | Tuning |

D, E, A

flatter.
If the guitar sounds flat turn the peg away from you to make the note sharper.
Electric tuner
When learning the guitar, digital tuners are the most accurate way to tune a
guitar. Follow the instructions for your electric tuner and then tighten or
loosen the corresponding tuning peg as described in the Keyboard section until
the guitar string is in tune.
Tuning by ear
When tuning by ear, the majority of guitarists will use one note from a
keyboard, tuning fork or other instrument to make sure the first string they
tune is accurate. However, you can tune the guitar without an external
reference point so that it is tune with itself.
Digital tuner
If using a digital tuner, the guitar string will be in tune when the LED of
the digital display is indicated by a green light. It will indicate whether
the note is either flat or sharp by a red or other light. If the light moves
beyond the center of the intended note (E in this case), it is considered
sharp and needs to be tuned down to get to the center. If it doesn’t quite
reach the center, then it will need to be tuned up.
- Start with the 6th string (low E). Play the 5th fret of the 6th string.
- Then play the open 5th string.
- Turn the tuning pegs as described in the Keyboard section until the open 5th string sounds like the 5th fret of the 6th string.
Follow the tuning guide to tune the other strings. Remember, play the fret note on the string above and then play the open string below, adjust the tuning on the open string until it is in tune.
TUNING GUIDE
Playing the guitar
Make sure you are seated comfortably, and the guitar is in tune. There are
many teaching resources available to help you learn how to play your guitar.
Here are some of the main chords for getting started:
Restringing a guitar
You will need the following tools:
- A tuning device
- New string(s)
- Wire cutters
- String winder
- Place the guitar on a surface that will support and easily stabilize the guitar neck while you work.
- Turn the peg until the string has come free.
- Remove the bridge pin using the built-in notch on the string-winder. When the pin is out you can completely take off the string.
- Take the replacement string and fix one end into the bridge pin.
- Then run the string towards the tuning peg and cut the wire a few inches longer than where it meets the tuning peg.
- Turn the wire around the tuning peg post at a 90-degree angle (make sure it’s not too tight at this point).
- Remove any twists in the wire and then tighten the string by turning the tuning peg, making sure the string wraps downwards along the tuning peg post.
- Tune the string and cut off any excess string.
- Stretch the string and retune it. Carefully pull the string away from the guitar, running your fingers down the length of the string and then back up again. Stretching the string will help the string stay in tune.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Regularly clean your guitar and keep it dust free.
- Clean with a dry, soft cloth.
Storage
If you do not plan to use the guitar for a long time, store it in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, excessive dirt and dust.
