SAFETY INFORMATION

For your own safety and correct operation of the appliance, please read this manual carefully before installation and operation.
Always keep these instructions together with the appliance, even if it is sold or transferred to third parties. It is important that users are familiar with all the appliance’s operating and safety characteristics.
Connection of the wiring must be performed by a specialist technician.

  • The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from incorrect or inadequate installation.

  • The minimum safety distance between the hob and the extractor hood is 650 mm (some models can be installed at a lower height; see the paragraph on working dimensions and installation).

  • If the gas hob installation instructions specify a distance greater than that indicated above, this must be taken into account.

  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate fixed to the inside of the hood.

  • The cut-out devices must be installed in the fixed system according to the wiring system regulations.

  • For Class I appliances, check that the domestic power supply has a suitable earthing connection.

  • Connect the hood to the flue with a pipe with a minimum diameter of 120 mm. The fume path must be as short as possible.

  • All the regulations regarding air discharge must be complied with.

  • Do not connect the extractor hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces, etc.).

  • If the extractor is used in conjunction with non-electrical appliances (e.g. gas burning appliances), a sufficient degree of ventilation must be guaranteed in the room in order to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas. When the cooker hood is used in conjunction with appliances supplied
    with energy other than electricity, the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 0.04 mbar to prevent fumes being drawn back into the room by the cooker hood.

  • The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

  • The power cord, if damaged, must be replaced by the manufacturer or by a service technician.

  • Connect the plug to a socket complying with current regulations, located in an accessible place.

  • Regarding the technical and safety measures to be adopted for fume discharging it is important to strictly follow the regulations provided by the local authorities.
    WARNING: Before installing the hood, remove the protective films.

  • Use only screws and small parts of a type suitable for the hood.
    WARNING: failure to install the screws or fixing devices in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.

  • Do not look directly at the light through optical devices (binoculars, magnifying glasses…).

  • Do not flambé under the hood; risk of fire.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lacking in experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance.
    Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be performed by children, unless they are supervised.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking in experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
    The accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.

  • Clean and/or replace the filters after the time specified (fire hazard). See the Maintenance and cleaning paragraph.

  • There must be adequate ventilation of the room when the hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels (not applicable to appliances that only discharge the air back into the room).

  • The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that the product cannot be disposed of as normal household waste. The product must be taken to an appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic components. By ensuring that this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent possible negative consequences for the environment and health that might result from its improper disposal. For more detailed information about recycling this product, please contact your local town hall, the waste disposal service or the store where the product was purchased.
    WARNING: Before performing any cleaning and/ or maintenance operation, disconnect the plug from the power socket.

Information on the purifier

WARNING: Switch off the device to avoid contact with the UV-C lamps.

  • If the device is damaged, it must not be used.

  • The device contains UV-C emitting lamps.

  • The UV-C lamps must be replaced after 6000 hours of operation.
    To replace them, contact Technical Assistance.
    The lamps must not be replaced by the user.

  • Using the device in a manner not described in this document,or damage to the case, may result in the escape of UV-C radiation.

  • UV-C radiations can cause damage to eyes and skin, even in small doses.

  • Do not insert small objects through the ventilation openings.
    They may damage the fans and compromise the operation of the device.

  • Read the maintenance instructions before opening the device.

  • The device must be disconnected from the power supply before replacing the UV-C emitter.

USE

  • The suction hood has been designed exclusively for domestic use, to eliminate kitchen odours.
  • Never use the hood for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
  • Never leave high flames under the hood when it is in operation.
  • Adjust the intensity of the flame so that it is directed onto the bottom of the cooking pan, making sure it does not wrap around the sides.
  • Deep-fryers must be kept under constant supervision when in use: the oil may catch fire if it gets too hot.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • The sponge-like part of the filter can be washed in the dishwasher at least once every 4 months, or more frequently if use is particularly intense.
    Operation is guaranteed for up to a maximum of 5 washes, after which it must be replaced (W).
    The grease filters must be cleaned every 2 months of operation, or more frequently in the case of particularly intensive use. They can be washed in a dishwasher (Z).

  • Clean the hood using a damp cloth and neutral liquid detergent.

  • For external and internal cleaning of the hood avoid alcoholic or silicone products.
    If the product or one of its parts is made of stainless steel, use specific non-abrasive products for cleaning and follow the lines of the satin finish during cleaning.

PURIFIER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Do not use abrasive products or materials.
  • Avoid products containing alcohol or silicone.
    For more thorough cleaning, contact the technical assistance.
    The technical information is situated in the rating plate on the internal side of the appliance.

Before starting the procedure follow the specific instructions of the manuals of the devices to be coupled.

The procedure for pairing of the hood with compatible devices (remote control) starts. Only one remote control can be paired. See the manual of the devices for details of the operations that need to be performed on these.

The coupling procedure takes 2 minutes. If no devices are recognised within this time check that you have previously activated the procedure for the devices to be coupled. The maximum number of linkable devices may have

been reached.

Activates/Deactivates the motor in the 24h Air Exchange mode, a speed that allows suction of 10 minutes every hour, for a 24-hour cycle.
Cannot be activated if the Intensive or Delay modes are active.

By pressing the key again with a long press (with light or motor on), the motor starts at the Intensive 2 speed.

This speed is timed for 6 minutes. At the end of this time, the system automatically returns to the previously selected speed. If activated with the motor off,once the time has passed it switches to OFF mode.

Turns on/off the UV-C lamp and ventilation at minimum speed. After 24 hours,the lamp and ventilation are turned off automatically.

Long| AUTO Mode

Activates/Deactivates the Automatic operating mode.

AUTO mode is deactivated whenever any other keys are pressed.

AUTO mode is activated when the key is pressed or the Coupled Induction Cooktop is turned on. The hood speed is automatically set using the highest power level present on the hob. When the induction cooktop is turned off the last activated speed is held for 5 seconds, then speed 1 for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes have passed the motor turns off. The light status does not change.

Activates/Deactivates the Wi-Fi set-up procedure.

Before starting the procedure use the Faber Cloud App to register with the IOT Faber system. Then follow the instructions to add a new device and register the domestic router.

If the procedure is not successfully completed within a few minutes, deactivate it by long pressing the key again, then make another attempt. The hood will nonetheless abandon the procedure if it is not successfully completed within 15 minutes.

Upon successful completion of the procedure LEDs T3 and T4 will light up for 2 seconds.

Remote control activatable functions| Day mode

Turns on/off the UV-C lamp and ventilation at maximum speed. After 2 hours, the lamp and ventilation are turned off automatically.

Night mode

Turns on/off the UV-C lamp and ventilation at minimum speed.

The automatic operating mode starts with a 24-hour work cycle in which the device remains on for 5 hours and off for the next 19 hours.
After 7 days the night mode will be turned off automatically.

Air Hub Signals| Recommended lamp replacement signal

After 6000h of operation, the signal is given to indicate replacement of the lamp. To replace them, contact Technical Assistance.

Lamp broken signal

If the UV lamp burns out or does not come on, the signal is given until lamp operation is restored. To replace them, contact Technical Assistance.

Warning:

If the following functions are present: Manual mode + Day mode are active and the hood is turned on, the purifier turns off.
If the hood is on at any speed and the purifier is turned on, the hood turns off.

If the Night Mode function is active and the hood motor is turned on, the purifier turns off. If the hood is turned off, the purifier turns on with the previously set function.

FABER CLOUD APP

The Faber Cloud App is available for iOS and Android smartphones and allows remote access to all hood functions.

REMOTE CONTROL

  • This appliance may be controlled using a remote control.
  • WARNING: the first procedure to carry out on the remote control is to activate the Connected Mode (refer to the device manual for more details).

ATTENTION: some functions can only be activated via the remote control (refer to the device manual for further details).

LIGHTING
