To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods

Safety, Environmental and Setup Instructions
- No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
- The mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect devices shall remain readily operable.
- Connect this device to a properly installed and earthed wall outlet only. Make sure the mains voltage corresponds with the specifications on the rating plate.
- Make sure the mains cable stays dry during operation. Do not pinch or damage the mains cable in any way.
- A damaged mains cable or plug must immediately be replaced by an authorized service center.
- In case of lightning, immediately disconnect the device from the mains supply.
- Children should be supervised by parents when using the device.
- Clean the device with a dry cloth only.
- Do NOT use CLEANING AGENTS or ABRASIVE CLOTHS!
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or other heat sources.
- Install the device at a location with sufficient ventilation in order to prevent heat accumulation.
- Do not cover the ventilation openings!
- Install the device at a safe and vibration-free location.
- Install the device as far away as possible from computers and microwave units; otherwise radio reception may be disturbed.
- Do not open or repair the enclosure. It is not safe to do so and will void your warranty. Repairs only by authorized service/ customer center.
- No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the unit.
- When you are necessary to ship the unit store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose.
- In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge or fast transient (burst), remove and reconnect the power supply.
- If the unit is not using for a long period of time, disconnect it from the power supply by unplugging the power plug. This is to avoid the risk of fire.

AC/DC Adapter
INSTALLATION
- Use only the supplied power adapter!
- Use only the supplied AC/DC-adapter. Do not connect the unit before checking the main voltage and before all other connections have been made.
- The unit has a built-in FM rod antenna (1). Extended the rod antenna totally and rotate the proper angle for the best reception.
- Insert the plug from the AC/DC-adapter (20) to the DC jack (17) of the main unit. Then connect the AC/DC-adapter to an AC outlet.
- When you connect the unit at first time the display (15) will show “0:00” and start flashing.
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2).
Note:
- The preset time will be reset completely if power source is interrupted.
- The clock time will adjust automatically after receiving a FM RDS or DAB signal.
VOLUME CONTROL
Press the “VOLUME – / +” button (3) to decrease or increase the volume.
DAB MODE
To have the best possible reception pull out the rod antenna complete.

Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2).

When you turn it on at first time it is preset in DAB radio mode and the unit will start automatically a complete full scan. The display will show “Searching”.

After the auto-scan has been completed the unit will jump to the first radio station.

Press the buttons (10) to select a desired DAB radio station.

By continuously pressing the “INFO / ” button (11) you can check the below info released of the DAB station:
Date/Time → Program type → Scrolling text → Group name → Frequency → Transfer rate → Signal strength -
Press the “Volume – / +” buttons to decrease or increase the volume.

If the unit is not in DAB mode when turning on press the “FUNCTION” button (8) to turn to the DAB mode. Press the “SCAN” button (9) if you wish to start a full scan again and search the available DAB radio stations.
Preset stations
You can store up to 20 DAB radio stations in the memory.
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and change to DAB mode by continuously pressing the “FUNCTION” button.
- Search the desired radio station by pressing the “ / ” buttons (10).
- Press and hold the “+10 / MEM / PRE” button (12) until display will show “<…P01>. The preset station number will flash in the display.
- Press the “ / ” buttons (10) to select the desired station memory number for storage.
- Press the “ENTER / PLAY MODE” button (13) to confirm the preset memory station. The display will show “Preset restored” ( means the radio station number!).
- Repeat step 2 to 5 to store other stations.
- You can overwrite a preset station by storing another desired station in its place.
Recall preset stations
- Press the “+10 / MEM / PRE” button (12) once and press “ / “ button (10) to select the desired memory station.
- Press the “ENTER / PLAY MODE” button (13) to confirm the recall memory station.
FM MODE
Auto tuning
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and change to FM mode by continuously pressing the “FUNCTION” button.
- Press the “SCAN” button (9) once. The unit will start to scan at tuning up until a radio station is received. Press and hold the “SCAN” button (9) for second the unit will scan to tuning down direction. If a radio data system (RDS) broadcasting signal is received, the unit will set the actual time automatically.
Manual tuning
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and change to FM mode by continuously pressing the “FUNCTION” button.
- Tune the required station by pressing the “ / “ button (10).
FM stereo reception
Press the “ENTER / PLAY MODE” button (13) repeatedly, the FM programs are
receiving in mono and stereo mode repeatedly. In particular when stereo
signals are weak, it is preferable to receive the pram in mono!
Radio data system (RDS)
This is a feature to display the information which released from the radio
broadcast and will show on display. By continuously pressing the “INFO / ”
button (11) you can check the below info released of the FM station:
Radio text → program type → signal strength → date/time → frequency
→mono/stereo
Preset stations
You can store up to 20 FM radio stations in the memory.
To store the preset station is the same as in DAB mode.
Recall preset stations
To recall the preset stations is the same as in DAB mode.
CD MODE
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and change to CD mode by continuously pressing the “FUNCTION” button.
- Push the “CD DOOR OPEN “ button (7) to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD with the printed side facing up and then close the CD tray.
- The unit begin reading the CD and show the total number of tracks and total playing time. Press the “ ” “ button (9) to start playback the disc.
- To interrupt the disc press the “ “ button (9). Press the “ “ button (9) again to resume the playback.
- Press the “ / ” button (10) to change the track backward or forward.
- Press the “ ” button to stop the playback.
Repeat / Random Mode
Press the “ENTER / PLAY MODE” button (13) during playback to select repeat and
random function. You can Choose the following modes:
CD Program
You can program up to 20 tracks.
- Set the unit in stop-mode by pressing the “ ” button (11).
- Press the “+10 / MEM / PRE” button (12). “MEM” will appear in the display.
- Select the desired track by pressing the “ / ” button (10).
- Press the “+10 / MEM / PRE” button (12) to store the track into memory.
- Repeat the steps 3 and 4 to enter additional tracks into the memory if necessary.
- When all desired tracks have been programmed press the “ ” button (9) to play the disc in the programmed order.
- Press the “ ” button(11) to stop playback. Press the button again to clear all stored tracks.
The programming mode will automatically stop if no button is being pressed in
a period about 10 seconds after pressing the “+10 / MEM / PRE” button (12).
If you use a MP3-CD the searching lead-time is longer than normal CDs.
Remark: There is a CD bookmark function of the unit. When the device is switched to other function during CD playback, the CD will automatically resume from the last playback section once it switched back to CD mode.
USB MODE
The system is able to decode and playback all MP3 files that are stored in
the memory of a USB device with USB connecting plug.
Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and change to USB mode by
continuously pressing the “FUNCTION” button.
The operation is the same as that of CD mode.
Removing an USB Device
Before removing the USB device, make sure the power is turned off first.
Alternatively switch the function mode to either CD or Tuner mode
AUX-IN MODE
This unit provides an auxiliary audio signal input jack for connecting
external audio devices.
Use an audio cable (not included) with one 3.5mm stereo plug on each end of
the cable.
- Plug one end into the “AUX-IN” jack (19) on the main unit and the other end of the cable into the Line-Out jack or headphone jack of your external audio device.
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and choose the AUX mode by pressing the “FUNCTION” button (8).
- The volume level can now be controlled through the main unit. Operate all other functions on the auxiliary device as usual.
If the Line Out jack of your external device is connected, then you only need to adjust the volume control of this system. If the headphone jack of your external device is connected, then you may need to adjust both the volume control of your external device and the volume control of this system to find the most desirable volume setting.
ALARM
Setting the Alarm
- Set the unit in standby-mode and press the “ALARM” button (4) once.
- The display will show “Select Alarm (1) 2”. Press the “ / ” button (10) to select alarm setting of alarm 1 or 2.. To confirm press the “ALARM” button (4) again.
- The display will show “Set Alarm (ON) OFF”. Press the “ / ” button (10) to select “ON”. Press the “ALARM” button (4) again to confirm.
- The hour digit of alarm time will flash. Press the “ / ” button (10) to select the alarm time hour. Press “ALARM” button (4).
- The minute digit of alarm time will flash. Press the “ / ” button (10) to select the alarm time minute. Press the “ALARM” button (4).
- Alarm type will be shown on display. Press the “ / ” button (10) to select alarm mode by Buzzer / CD / USB / DAB / FM. Press the “ALARM” button (4).
- Volume level will be shown. Press the “ / ” button (10) to adjust the wake up level. Press “ALARM” button (4).
- The display will show “AL1” or “AL2” icon and keep in standby-mode
- To turn off the alarm press the “ALARM” button (4) once. Then select alarm 1 or 2 and press the “ALARM” button (4) again. Then select OFF at “Set Alarm ON (OFF)” and press the “ALARM” button (4) again. Then press the “ALARM” button (4) until the end of the alarm setting. The AL will disappear on the display.
Snooze
Press the “SNOOZE” button (6) once to extend the alarm for 9 minutes every
time and the AL icon on the display will be flashing.
Setting Sleep-Timer
- Press the “SLEEP” button (5) to enable the sleep function.
- Keep pressing the button to adjust the sleep timer in the sequence: 10 / 20 / 30 / … / 90 minutes.
- The system will stop and automatically go into standby-mode after the selected time has passed.
- To cancel the Sleep-Timer press the “SLEEP” button (5) until it reaches the “00” mode.
LANGUAGE SETTING
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and choose the DAB mode by pressing the “FUNCTION” button (8).
- Press and hold the “MENU / SLEEP” button (5) until the display showing “DRC”.
- Press the “ / ” button (10) until the display will show “Language”.
- Press the “ENTER / PLAY” button (13) to enter and select the language (English or German) by pressing the “ / ” button (10). Press the “ENTER / PLAY” button (13) to confirm.
- The unit automatically change the interface in the selected language.
FACTORY RESE T
If the unit is out of control after wrong operation or you would like to
erase all the preset stations you can reset the system.
- Turn the unit on by pressing the “I / “ button (2) and choose the DAB mode by pressing the “FUNCTION” button (8).
- Press and hold the “INFO / ” button (11) until the display will show “Press Select key to Reset”.
- Press the “ENTER / PLAY MODE” button (13) to confirm the reset. The unit will start to reset and all the information will be erased.
Note: If you find your unit switches itself off regularly, this is not a
fault.
Due to the ErP Stage 2 requirements (see below) for power saving measures, a
unit which is connected to the mains power will switch itself to standby mode
automatically if no music has been playing for over 15 minutes.
