Use the bulb connectors and guyline notches to string up the lights in your desired location. Make sure to secure them properly to avoid any accidents.

Storing Stakes
When not in use, store the ABS stakes using the stake storage strap to keep them organized and prevent misplacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is direct sunlight?
Direct sunlight refers to sunlight that reaches the Earth’s surface without being diffused by clouds, fog, or other obstacles.

  2. It’s cloudy, will my light still charge?
Yes, your light will still charge, but at a slower rate compared to clear, sunny days. The UV index and cloud cover can affect the charging speed.

  3. Can I charge the product from my car dashboard?
Yes, you can charge it from your car dashboard using a USB connection. Ensure the power source is compatible with the product.

  4. Can my light be left outside in the rain?

  5. The bulbs and stakes are water-resistant with an IPX4 rating, so they can withstand light rain. However, it’s recommended not to expose the Charging Case to water unless the Waterproofing Band is securely attached.

  6. What’s the difference between charging via USB or solar panel?
Charging via USB is faster than using the solar panel due to input power. However, both methods will fully charge the battery. Solar charging provides a natural power source.

USB Port

  • A. Lift cap to reveal port
  • B. USB-C to charge Solar Site Lights

Charging
Charge case via solar

  • With solar panel side up, place in direct sunlight for a full charge. When charging via solar, the Charging Indicator will turn red.
  • Press battery level indicator button at any time to check battery level. See illustration on previous page for more info.

Charge case via USB-C

  • Insert the USB cord provided into the USB port on the Charging Case, and then insert the other end into a USB outlet for 4 hours.
  • Ensure the cord is firmly in position and check that the Charging Indicator light is on – this means it’s charging.

Charge lights

  • To charge the lights, place them into the Charging Pockets and the magnetic snap will guide them into position for charging.
  • When the lights illuminate orange, it means they are charging, and green means that the light is fully charged.

How to turn on

  • To turn the lights on, simply twist the bulb in either direction and cycle through the modes.
  • 1 click for low, 2 for medium, 3 for high, and 4 to turn off.
  • The dual-directional swivel makes it easier to adjust brightness while the lights are staked in the ground or hanging overhead.

How to string up

  • To string up the lights, firmly insert your string or rope into the String Notch until secure.
The tapered notch caters to different string thicknesses, and once in place, will remain in position.

  • Alternatively, you can loop the string through the top of the bulb connector and bite it into the circle.

  • Any rope less than 2.5mm diameter should be looped through the bulb connector, as the rope will be too thin for the notch.

  • Any rope more than 5.5mm diameter will not fit through the bulb connector or be able to fit into the notch.

How to store stakes

  • When storing the stakes, they should be placed into the Stake Storage Pocket in alternate directions. This helps secure them more firmly in the case.
  • Secure the Stake Storage Strap to ensure that the stakes are secure while transporting.

Frequently asked questions

  1. What is direct sunlight?
Direct sunlight means that the sun’s light is directly hitting the solar panel. For example, if you were standing outside under the sun with nothing obstructing you and the sun, then you would be in direct sunlight. If you were standing inside, you would be getting indirect sunlight but no direct rays from the sun. Solar panels always need direct sunlight to charge. If in doubt, think of it this way; if you were Luci and you were able to directly see the sun, then you would be in direct sunlight!

  2. It’s cloudy, will my light still charge?
Yes, but it will charge at a slower rate than on a bright, clear day. As your Luci charges via the red and violet frequencies of visible light, the charge times will vary based on the UV index or overcast skies. Generally speaking, the higher the UV index, the faster the charge.

  3. Will my light charge under indoor lighting?
The sun generates significant red and violet frequencies (which charge your Luci), whereas your ordinary indoor lights emit a tiny fraction of that UV. We recommend you go straight to the source and put your Luci directly in the sunlight from a windowsill or, for the best results, outside! Luci is durable and completely waterproof.

  4. Can I charge your products from my car dashboard?
We advise against charging on a car dashboard. On a hot summer day, your car dashboard can reach temperatures of up to 160ºF (71°C) which exceeds the temperature limit of our products – 122°F (50°C).

  5. Can my light be left outside in the rain?
Yes! It can be left out in the rain but we wouldn’t recommend leaving it out in strong rain storms for extended periods or submerging it in water.

  6. What’s the difference between charging the light via USB or the solar panel?
Speed! Charging via USB is ~4x faster than via solar due to the input power. Whether charging via solar or USB however, the outcome remains the same – a full battery charge. Our advice is to charge via solar for a natural source of power, but if you’re in a pinch, charge via USB.

  7. Can my light be left outside in the rain?
The bulbs and stakes can be left outside and have an IPX4 waterproof rating. The Charging Case should not be exposed to water unless the Waterproofing Band is securely attached. Even with the Waterproofing Band on, we recommend not leaving the Charging Case outside in the rain. The inside cannot get wet, as this will damage the circuit.
