OPERATION

  • Unpack the unit and check that all parts are included and not damaged. Should you experience a problem contact your supplier immediately.
  • Position the folder on the bench where it is to be mounted, ensuring that the handles (fig.1.7) hang vertically over the front of the bench. Use foot plates (fig.1.6) as templates to drill holes in the bench. Use appropriate fixings, or clamp folder in a vice.
  • By using the center adjustment nut (fig.1.4) ensure the top plate is slightly bowed in the middle. Then use the clamps to bring to parallel under pressure. This may require adjustment from time to time.
  • Release clamps (fig.1.1) at either end of a folder so that a small test piece of sheet metal can be inserted between the top and base plates. (fig.1.3)
  • Position the test piece, adjust the top plate by use of clamps ( fig.1.1) lightly tighten, and use a spanner to adjust the cam (fig1.2), so that the base and top plate are aligned.
  • Ensure that there is even pressure on both ends.
  • Raise the top folding plate (fig.1.3) by lifting handles to create the fold. From this test, you will be able to determine how and where the fold appears.
  • When satisfied with the test results, proceed with the actual workpiece.
