Introduction
This is a household Double Hot Plate; it is equipped with two hot plates, the smaller 1kW Cooking Plate is suitable for saucepans for cooking smaller portions, sauces and simmering. The larger 1.5kW Cooking Plate is suitable for larger pans for cooking larger portions, boiling and steaming.
Before the first time you use your Hot Plate
- Remove all packing materials and discard responsibly.
- Ensure all parts are present (if applicable) see Description of Parts below.

Before using your Hot Plate for the first time, turn the Thermostat Control (3
& 6) to the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition the protective
coating.
You may notice a slight odour and a little smoke during this initial heating
process. This is normal and will quickly disappear, it is the coating applied
to the heating element to prevent any corrosion during transit.
This should be the only time the Hot Plate is operated without a cooking
utensil on it.
A pan/cooking utensil 15 – 18cm in diameter is recommended for the Large
Cooking Plate (2) and a pan/cooking utensil up to 15cm is recommended for
Small Cooking Plate (1) to achieve best results. Ensure larger pans do not
protrude beyond the edge of the Cooking Plate or the controls.
Operating Instructions
- Place the Hot Plate on a solid, level non-flammable surface.
- Ensure that Thermostat Control (3 & 6) is in the OFF ( ) position.
- Insert the mains plug into the mains socket.
- Rotate the Thermostat Control (3 & 6) clockwise to the desired temperature setting from 1 (low heat) to 5 (high heat). The Heat Indicators (4 & 5) will illuminate to show the Hot Plates (1 & 2) are heating up.
- Once the Hot Plates are at the desired temperature and ready to use, the Heat Indicators (4 & 5) will go out.
- The Heat Indicators (4 & 5) will go on and off during use to maintain the temperature – this is normal.
- Rotate the Thermostat Control (3 & 6) to the OFF ( ) position and remove the mains plug from the socket after use.
Care and Use of your Hot Plate
- Always disconnect the Hot Plate from the mains power supply and allow to cool before cleaning.
- Clean the outside of the Hot Plate with a soft damp cloth. Never clean the Hot Plate with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Do not submerge any part of the Hot Plate or its cord in water or any other liquids.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug

If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse needed replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician. -
If you need to remove the plug -DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS- and then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
