ES-080 Home and Camp Lantern

Thank you for purchase of this Snow Peak product. This LED lantern offers warm light for home and camp use. Please read the instructions carefully before use and keep for true reference. Please confirm you have received all the necessary components. Assemble the light in a safe location and make sure you fully understand the function of the LED Light before use. If the product is damaged upon purchase please stop using it immediately and contact Snow Peak customer service or the Snow Peak dealer where you purchased your new light.

Safety Precautions

DANGER / Misuse could easily result in a serious accident or death.

  • Keep out of the reach of children. It could result in injury or choking if parts are swallowed mistakenly.
  • Do not touch any metal items to the connection area or terminals, as overheating, fire or electric shock may occur.
  • Do not dismantle or modify. Improper handling or modifications may result in electric shock.
  • Do not touch connection areas with wet hands. Doing so may result in overheating, fire, or electric shock.
  • Parents must supervise children using this product. Unsupervised children could damage the product, which could result in injury or electric shock.

WARNING / Misuse could result in serious injury or death to the user.

  •  Do not use this product where it may get soaked in water. This could result in electric shock or permanent damage to the product.
  • Do not use the product covered with cloth, as this may result in fire or electric shock.
  • Always carry an extra power source, such as batteries.
  • If there is liquid leaking from the rechargeable battery, do not allow the liquid to contact your skin or eyes. In case of contact, rinse well with water and consult a doctor.
  • Do not bend or bundle the power cable to prevent malfunction.
  • Do not use this product under high temperatures outside the suggested ranges, as this may cause leaking of batteries, overheating, or even fire.
  • Do not use the product near any heat sources, as this may result in overheating or fire.
  • Do not charge this product near a water source. It may result in overheating, fire, or electric shock.
  • Only use a power supply with an output of 5V-A for charging. Using other outputs increases the risk of overheating or fire.

CAUTION / Misuse could result in injury to the user and/or damage to property.

  • Dropping the light may cause unexpected failure during regular use. Please thoroughly examine the product for damage.
  • Avoid looking directly at the light source as it may hurt your eyes.
  • Do not hang the light while the power cable is connected. The cable may get caught and fall or be damaged.
  • Do not place it directly on the ground, as this may cause the charging terminal to malfunction.

How to use

Charging method

  1. When using a charging stand
    Please place it on the charging stand—the indicator lights for 5 seconds when the battery is charging without any problem.
  • Please place the convex part on the bottom of the main unit and the concave part on the charging stand. If the product is placed incorrectly, the power may flow back and damage the product.

    1. How to use the rear USB-C connector
      Charge this product by inputting a power supply that complies with the specified USB standard to the USB-C Connector on the back of the main unit.

Open the rear silicon connector cover. Connect the cable to a mobile battery and plug the USB-C jack into the rear connector—the indicator lights for 5 seconds when the battery is charging without any problem.
Do not use the USB-C connector near water sources. Always close the USB-C connector cover.

  1. How to turn on: push the switch once
    1. Push the switch when it’s in the off position.
    2. Confirm lighting. (At this time, the brightness will be dim.)

  2. How to adjust the brightness. Continue to hold the switch down
    1. Continue to hold the switch down in the on position.
    2. Holding the switch to increase brightness gradually.
    3. Stop holding when the desired brightness is reached.

  • Brightness control works only by dimming. when you hold the switch down, the brightness is maximized.
    Once the brightness is maximized, the indicator flashes.
    When you hold the switch down again, the brightness will drop slowly.

      2. Confirm lighting.

How to hang this product

This product changes shape for easy hanging.

①Lift the shade parts horizontally with both hands.| ②Hold and lift the handle while slowly rotating the main unit by 180 degrees.

③Slowly push down the shaded part horizontally with both hands and cover the bottom of the main unit.| ④Use the indent on the handle to hang it on the hook.

⑤Perform the reverse procedure to undo.

  • Please make sure to cover the shaded part on the bottom of the main unit (or the lamp cover) to undo it. If you lift the product while it is unstable, the product may rotate and hit something, potentially resulting in permanent damage to the product.

  • Do not place the product on the ground or on a table while it is in the hanging shape, as this could result in permanent damage to the product.

  • Turn off the light when hanging this product. You will be looking directly at the LED light, and it may result in blindness or injury.
    About the external power supply

    1. Charging stand
      An AC adapter is required to connect a charging stand to a home AC power source. Please use an AC adapter with an output of 5V-2.0A.

    2. Type-C Connector
      Please use an external power supply that complies with USB Type-C Current 3A. This product does not support USB-PD.

Please regularly care for your light.
For stains on the body of light, wipe it with a moist cloth. Use a dry cloth or cotton swab to wipe off the battery terminals when dirty. If the body gets wet, wipe the moisture off with a dry and soft cloth completely before storing. If moisture gets into the USB connection or inside the body, stop using light immediately. Contact Snow Peak Customer Service or a retailer for repair or to confirm the safe operation.

Troubleshooting

Troubles Reason Action
Will not light • Batteries are dead. Place the unit on a charging stand or

connect the power to the rear USB-C. Ensure the charge indicator lights up for 5 seconds.
Light goes out immediately after turning it on| • Dead batteries| Place the unit on a charging stand or connect the power to the rear USB-C. Ensure the charge indicator lights up for 5 seconds.
The product won’t charge| • Problem with batteries| Confirm the batteries are installed correctly.
• Inadequate supply| Charging stand, Please use an AC adapter with an output of 5V-2.0A. An AC adapter with an output of 5V-2.0A is required to connect a charging stand to a home AC power source.
Type-C Connector, Please use an external power supply that complies with USB Type-C Current 3A. This product does not support USB-PD.
• The terminal is dirty| Wipe the terminals and charging stand clean with a dry cloth.
All the indicators are flashing| • There is poor contact with the power supply| Disconnect from the power supply and charge the battery again.
After trying all of the above, nothing works.| • The light may be damaged.| Stop using it immediately and call Snow Peak customer service or your local Snow Peak retailer.

Warranty

The specifications of Snow Peak products are based on field testing and quality control to ensure the correct function and longevity of every product. If apparent defects in the product’s manufacturing are found, the defective product will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. However, damages, as follows, are not covered under warranty.

  1. Material deterioration is caused by age.
  2. Damage caused by modifications or rough handling.
  3. Damage caused by improper use and not following the instruction manual.
  4. Damage caused by unexpected accidents.
  5. Damage not caused by defects in the manufacturing process.
  6. Damage caused by dust or rust.
  7. Damage or defects caused when dismantling the product.
  8. Damage and defects caused by dropping or other shocks to the product.
  9. Deterioration or failure of parts due to friction.
  10. Damage caused by the use of the product in combination with other makers’ products.

Regarding Repair

  • If a professional repair is necessary, please contact the dealer where the product was sold or Snow Peak Customer Service.
  • Please dry and clean the product before sending it for repair.
  • Please stick a memo onto the damaged area of the product. In the memo, include details explaining the circumstances that led to the damage.
  • The cost of repair will be determined as follows:
    1. If the damage is subject to warranty, transportation costs (both ways) and repair costs will be covered by Snow Peak.
    2. If the damage is not subject to warranty, transportation costs (both ways) and repair costs will be covered by the customer.
