Setup
Rotate the antennas
Rotate the antennas upwards for best possible reception.
Note: The antennas are needed for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions.
Connect the power cord
Place the AVR near your TV and then connect the power cord.
Connect the AVR to your TV
Use an HDMI cable of high quality and connect one end to the HDMI port
marked “ARC” or “eARC” on your TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT port
on the AVR.
What are ARC and eARC? Audio Return Channel (audio feedback channel) or “ARC” returns audio from the AVR to the TV using the same HDMI cable that sends video from the AVR to the TV. This allows the AVR to process audio from the TV’s built-in sources and apps. TV sets with a port type “eARC” (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) provide further support for high-resolution audio with high bitrate (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD). Check the TV manual for information on eARC support on your model.
Note: For 4K TV, we recommend an HDMI cable marked “High Speed” with “Ethernet”. For 8K TV, we recommend an HDMI cable marked “Ultra High Speed”.
Turn on the TV
- Use the TV remote control to power on the TV.
- Select the appropriate HDMI input on the TV
- Use the TV remote control to select the HDMI input to which the AVR is connected.
- Insert batteries into the AVR remote control
Note: Batteries can be taken out in reverse order.
Turn on the AVR
Press the power button on the remote control.
Confirm connections
Make sure you see this screen on your TV. If the screen does not appear, go
back and perform the steps in the recommended order.
Note: If the unit has been set up previously, the Setup Guide will not start automatically. You will only see the Denon logo on the screen. In such cases, you can access the Setup Guide by pressing the SETUP button on the remote control and selecting the Setup Guide from the menu.
Follow the on-screen installation instructions
The TV is now connected to the AVR. The Setup Guide provides guidance on
connecting and configuring your speakers and components for the Denon AVR. Use
