Product Usage Instructions
Keeping the Surface Moist
Important Note: To maintain the correct humidity level of your kit, follow these steps:
- Simulate small drops falling gently on the surface by making diffused drops for 6 seconds.
- Illuminate the surface to check if droplets are present.
- Learn to recognize when there is too much or too little humidity on the surface.
If the surface accumulates too much humidity, open the zip of the bag more to allow for better aeration.
Alternative Fruiting Method
To reduce maintenance and provide higher levels of aeration and humidity, follow these steps:
- Obtain a plastic storage box (recommended size provided by the company).
- The box should be transparent and not much bigger than the kit.
- Place the kit inside the box for easy fruiting.
Instructions
Our kits are manufactured exclusively for scientific, ornamental or collector
use, the company is not responsible once opened. Adults only 18 years old.
The mycelium from which our kits are made is supplemented with unique
nutrients to guarantee the best harvests. If you need to store or preserve it,
do so at a temperature of 4-6°C for a maximum of 6 weeks.
- Contains: Instruction manual, 1200ml box and a greenhouse bag.
- What you need: Tap water, a well-lit place (never direct sunlight or artificial light; the temperature should be between 18°C and 30°C, with 23°C being the ideal) and a water spray.
You can send the photos at the end of the process to info.tatandi@gmail.com or via Instagram at @tatandi.es
INSTRUCTIONS
- Break the seal on the box.
- Remove the lid and keep it for later.
- These kits do NOT need to be hydrated during their first fruiting.
- (This step only applies to products labelled as “hybrid”. If you don´t have this product, skip to step 5.) Open the bag containing the substrate cover and spread it over the surface of the kit with a clean spoon, creating a small layer (this is optional), in this way we will obtain an exceptional surface for the appearance of the primordiums.
- Put the kit in the greenhouse bag.
- Mist the walls of the bag with tap water and zip it in half (half open, half closed) for passive air intake, you will have to observe that initial moisture in the spread substrate cover and maintain it throughout the process, this is very important, if it dries out too much zip it up a bit more, or on the contrary if the surface is too moisturized, open it up a bit more. Unfavourable conditions will affect the final result to a great extent (we recommend putting a finger of tap water inside the bag to preserve the humidity).
- Keep the bag moist at all times, spraying the walls of the bag once or twice a day if necessary.
- Once the primordiums appear, open the zip 2/3 of its total opening, divide the zip in three parts and close one of them (these tips are orientative, because every home, climate and time of the year has different environmental parameters, which can affect your microclimate to a greater extent). We must ventilate twice a day for 10 minutes, opening the bag completely and then misting the walls of the bag.
- The best time to harvest is 5 to 6 hours after the veil breaks. Grip the base of the mushroom, twist a little and pull it carefully, otherwise you may damage the surface and delay further fruiting.
- Once the mushrooms have been harvested, remove the kit from the bag and pour tap water over it until it is completely full.
- Close the kit with the lid and leave it to soak for 20 minutes at room temperature, never in the fridge. At the end of this time, drain all the water well, put the kit back in the bag and repeat all the above steps for subsequent fructifications.
How to keep the surface of the bread moist
IMPORTANT
Ideally, it is preferable NOT to spray the surface of the kit directly, unless
it is observed that the surface is losing moisture. To determine if it is
necessary to mist the surface, we recommend using the light of the mobile
phone and illuminate the surface, if small droplets are observed, it will not
be necessary to wet the surface. ONLY mist if you notice at some point that
the surface does not have these droplets, and never more than once a day,
otherwise you could damage your grow. To do this we recommend taking the kit
out of the bag, and do it from at least one metre away from it, never pointing
directly at the kit, they should fall into it by gravity.
The idea is to make small diffused drops fall gently on the surface,
simulating small drops like those created on foggy autumn days, “6 seconds
will be enough”. Then, illuminate the surface again to check that the droplets
are present, this way, you will learn how to maintain the correct humidity
level of your kit!
Keep in mind that this is not a mathematical process, to get the most out of
our kits, it is best to learn when the surface has too much or too little
humidity. If you observe that the surface is accumulating too much humidity,
open the zip of the bag more. These fungi like oxygen, but as we have
explained, combined with the necessary humidity.
Alternative way of fruiting: The following way of fruiting will provide higher levels of aeration and humidity, so that the maintenance of the kit is reduced to simply doing nothing (or almost nothing). Get a plastic storage box, (we offer you a perfect box). The box does not have to be much bigger than the kit, nor does it have to fit tightly. The box should be transparent.
- Pour tap water into the plastic box up to 2 centimetres.
- Remove the lid from the kit (keep it for later).
- Open the bag containing the substrate cover and spread it evenly over the surface of the kit, this provides a perfect surface for the emergence of primordiums.
- Place the kit in the plastic box with the same amount of water. Then put the lid on the plastic box in the normal way. If the lid comes with latches, simply do not use them. Just put the lid on top, without closing it completely, but if you notice during the process that the surface is getting too wet, you should turn the lid upside down and leave an opening of about 1-2 centimetres between the box and the lid, so that the excess moisture will evaporate.
- Once the first primordiums appear, we have to turn the lid of the box upside down and slide it, so that there is more air intake, leaving at least a one-finger opening between the lid and the box, if too much moisture accumulates on the surface of your kits, If too much moisture accumulates on the surface of your kits, you will need to have a larger opening.
- It is not necessary to spray the walls of the plastic box at any time.
- Refer to the section “how to maintain the surface moisture of the kit”, to determine when to spray the surface. However, it is very likely that we will not need to do so with this system.
- To harvest the mushrooms, follow instructions number 9 in the instructions section. Once the mushrooms have been harvested, remove the kit from the large box and pour tap water directly over the kit until it is completely full.
- Close the lid of the kit and leave it to soak for 20 minutes, never in the fridge. When the time is up, drain all the water well, put the kit back in the plastic box for a second fructification, and so successively.
FAQ
Q: How long do I have to induce fructification after receiving the kit?
A: You should induce fructification within 8 days of receiving the kit.
Q: How often should I send photos to claim the guarantee for the first fructification?
A: Send photos every three days minimum to determine if there were any factors that caused failure.
Q: Where can I send photos at the end of the process?
A: You can send the final photos to info.tatandi@gmail.com or via Instagram at @tatandi.es
