Product Usage Instructions

Adding a Product to the Myko App

Please follow the steps below to add a product to the Myko app:

  1. Locate the QR code printed on the side of the light bulb or within the Quick Start Guide.
  2. Refer to the Onboarding Products – Myko Support Guide for detailed instructions on adding the product to the app.

Recessed RGB Light Controls Screen

Brightness: Adjust the slider to set brightness between 1 – 100%.
Temperature: Slide your finger along the arc to select a white color temperature.

  • Warm Light: 3000K or lower
  • Cool Light: 4000K or above
  • Neutral Light: 3500K
  • Select a preset base color from the five color circles below the slider.

Color Light Controls:

  • Brightness: Adjust the slider to set brightness between 1 – 100%.
  • Color Selection: Slide your finger around the color wheel to choose a color for your light.

Saved Colours

  • You can save current colors to presets for easy access.

Mood Light Controls

  • Mood Selection: Choose a mood from the dialog box and adjust brightness and speed accordingly.

Recessed RGB Light-Specific Settings

Access product settings to control behavior in case of a power outage.

  • Protect Sleep Mode: Keeps the previous on/off status and setting after power is restored. Ideal for rooms where people sleep.
  • Safety Mode: Always powered on to 3000K/100% brightness after a power outage. Suitable for lights not controlled with a physical switch.
  • Default Mode: Always powered on with the last settings before power loss. Suitable for lights controlled with a physical switch.

  • Q: Where can I find the QR code for onboarding?
    A: The QR code is printed on the side of the light bulb or within the Quick Start Guide included in the packaging.

This document explains how to use features and functions specific to Myko- compatible Recessed RGB Light products.

Terminology

  • Myko – this is the brand name for the products, app, and service to enable smart products.
  • RGB stands for “Red, Green, Blue” and means the light can show different colors, in addition to white.
  • CCT stands for Colour color-changing temperature varying from warm white to cool white
  • “Onboarding” means the process of adding a product to a user’s account.
  • QR Code – this is a 2D barcode that is imprinted on the product and the quick start guide and scanned by the Myko app to identify and onboard the product.

Adding a Product to the Myko App

Please refer to the “Onboarding Products – Myko Support Guide” for instructions on adding a product to the Myko app (“onboarding”). In the section below you will find the locations of the Light Bulb QR codes, which are needed for onboarding.

QR Code Locations

  • The QR code is printed on the side of the light bulb.
  • Or within the Quick Start Guide included in the packaging.

Recessed RGB Light Controls Screen

Once the product has been successfully added to your Myko account, press the entry on the Myko Home screen to open the product Controls screen. Press the Light Mode menu at the top to select a mode:

  • White – Press to control brightness and temperature.
  • Color – Press to control color.
  • Mood – Press to select from a variety of preset programs.

White Light Controls – press light mode to access.

Brightness
Adjust the slider to a brightness between 1 – 100%.

Temperature
Slide your finger along the arc to select a white color temperature:

  1. Warm light is anything 3000K or lower.
  2. Cool light is 4000K or above.
  3. Neutral light is 3500K and can look either cool or warm depending on the environment or
  4. Select a preset base color from the five color circles below the slider.

Colour LightControls

Brightness
Adjust the slider to a brightness between 1 – 100%

Colour Selection press light mode to access
Slide your finger around the color wheel to select a color for your light. The center circle shows the current color in a larger area.
Tosavethecurrentcolourtoapreset,presstheSave Colour button below the saved colors, then press one of the preset circles.

Saved Colours
You can also set the color for your light by selecting one of the current colors set up in the preset circles.
Mood LightControls press light mode to access.

Mood Selection
PressSelectedMood to open the mood dialog box. Press the mood you want for your light, then press Select.

Brightness
Adjust the slider to a brightness between 1-100%.

Speed
For some moods, speed can also be set, adjust the slider quickly, and the color change.

Recessed RGB Light-Specific Settings

Open the product Settings screen by pressing the Settings icon in the lower- right of the screen. Just below the Product Name text field, there are options to control the behavior of the light in the event of a power outage.
In the Power-On Behavior set the light’s behavior when the power goes off and comes on again after a power outage. Select from these modes:

  • Protect Sleep Mode – Keeps the light at its previous on/off status and setting. If the light was off before the outage, it will remain off when power is restored. Preferable for lighting used in a room where people sleep.
  • Safety Mode – The light is ALWAYS powered on to 3,000K/100%brightness when power is restored. Preferable for lighting NOT commonly controlled with a physical switch.
  • Default Mode – The light is ALWAYS powered on and set to the temp/brightness from when last on. Preferrable for lighting also commonly controlled with a physical switch.
