The i-box Dream is the perfect choice for anyone who finds it quicker to tell the time using a traditional analog dial but wants all the benefits of a digital bedside radio alarm clock.

Extend Antenna Fully
Ensure the antenna is fully extended before you power your Dream as your radio alarm clock uses the time signals from DAB or FM radio (depending on your location) to automatically set the time and date.i-box-79310PI-14_IM-Hybrid-

Backup Battery Installation
Your Dream has a backup battery feature (18) that uses 2x AAA 1.5V batteries (not included). If the mains supply is disconnected or interrupted, the backup batteries ensure that the time and alarm settings are saved. Powering Your Dream

Setting the Time and Date

  • Once the Dream receives a time signal the clock hands will automatically move to display the correct time. If you want to set the time or date manually.

Navigating Menus

DAB Radio Mode

Full Scan

Dynamic Range Control (DRC)
DRC can make quieter sounds easier to hear when your radio is used in a noisy environment. This function is only available for some DAB stations.

Prune
Set prune to “Yes” to clear stations with no signal reception from the DAB station list when you next perform a full scan.

Auto Scan
Long press ENTER/SCAN / to auto-scan for all receivable FM stations. Stations found will be saved to the preset list. To ensure as complete a list as possible make sure the antenna is fully extended.

Scan Settings
By default, the FM scan stores all available stations, even if the signal is weak and the audio quality is poor. It is best to use the “Strong stations only” option to ensure the stations found have a clear signal, follow the steps below.

Bluetooth Mode

Short press MODE / ALARM OFF to select Bluetooth mode, and the screen will flash “Not Connected” to indicate that the Dream is in pairing mode.

  • Your Dream will automatically search for the last connected device. Connect a compatible device as shown below. When your device is connected you will hear a chime.

  • You don’t need to re-pair. The Dream will automatically reconnect with your device when they are in range and both are turned on.
  • To disconnect your device, long press the ENTER/SCAN/ key. You will hear a chime when your device has been disconnected successfully. Your Dream is now ready to pair with a new device.

Playback Controls
Use your device to control playback or use the Dream’s controls for the following options:

  • Previous track
  • ENTER/SCAN / Play/Pause track
  • Next track
  • Use the VOL+ and VOL- keys to control the volume. You can also use your device to change the volume. Adjust the volume on both your device and the Dream for optimum sound.

Sleep Function

  • In any audio mode you can use the sleep timer function to set a period after which your Dream will switch off automatically.
  • This is ideal if you want to set your Dream to switch off automatically after you have fallen asleep. The available options are: Sleep off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes.
  • When the sleep function is in use, this icon and the remaining time are displayed.

  • To turn off the sleep function, re-enter the sleep menu, and set to “Sleep off”.

Setting the Alarms

To set the alarms follow the steps below.

Choose from daily, once, weekends or weekdays, if ‘once’ set the date.

Set Alarm Volume
When the alarm(s) are activated, they will gradually increase in volume until the level set.

Alarm Activate/Deactivate and Save Alarm
Set if the current alarm you are editing is active or not.

Setting Alarm 2
Repeat steps 11.1 to 11.7 to set alarm 2.

Activate, Deactivate Alarms

  • You need to be in standby mode to activate the alarm(s), long press the MODE / ALARM OFF key to enter standby mode.
  • Short press the INFO/MENU/ key repeatedly to activate or deactivate the alarms.

Alarm Stop, Snooze

Snooze Alarm
Short press SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER to snooze the alarm for 9 minutes.

Stop Alarm

Display Brightness
Adjust the brightness of the display by repeatedly short-pressing the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER key.

Time and Date Settings

By default, the time and date will auto-update, for other time settings or to set the time/date manually see below.

Set Time/Date Manually
Follow the steps below to set the time and date manually. Once you set the time/date manually this will override the auto update function.
To reinstate the auto-update function, go to the auto-update menu and select “Update from Any”.

Auto Update
By default, the Dream will auto-update the time/date using a DAB or FM time signal. You are given the choice of using “Update from Any”, “DAB” or “FM” for auto-update, or of using “No Update”.
We recommend you select “Update from Any” if you want to auto-update as the availability of DAB and FM time signals can vary from region to region.

Set Display Format
Choose between 12-hour or 24-hour clock display formats. The default is 24-hour.

Choose between DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY. The default is DD-MM-YYYY.

Select how long until the display enters dim level. The available options are: 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 seconds or on (the display will not dim).

Factory Reset

  • Reset the Dream to factory default settings. This will delete all settings, the station list, and presets.

Software Version
View the current software version.

Wired Charging
You can charge a phone or other device via the USB output port (14) on the back of the Dream (cable not included). If you are charging a phone the battery status will be shown on its screen.
There may be some radio interference while charging.

Headphone Port
You can listen to audio via the 3.5mm headphone port ( ) on the back of the Dream.

Troubleshooting

Radio reception is poor

  • Check that the antenna is extended for maximum signal strength and improved reception.
  • Adjust the antenna direction to improve the signal. Move the unit closer to a window.
  • Check that the unit is not close to microwaves, fluorescent lights, or other equipment which may cause interference.

No sound

  • Check if the volume is turned down. Increase the volume.
  • Check that the unit is switched on.
  • Try tuning to another radio station.

The unit does not turn on

  • Check power supply connections.
  • Check the main socket is switched on.

After a power cut, the alarm and time settings have not been saved

  • No backup battery/batteries fitted or fitted incorrectly

The time doesn’t auto-update

  • Adjust the antenna to ensure a good radio reception.
  • In the system menu make sure auto-update is set to “Update from Any”.
  • After a factory reset remove the backup batteries and briefly unplug from the power supply.
