Setup and Features

Before you can start the setup process, insert the included batteries into the sensor’s battery compartment. Ensure that the thermostat is on and the bluetooth icon is blinking.

Bluetooth Icon Status:

  • Ready to Pair = Blinking Bluetooth icon
  • Connected = Bluetooth icon on
  • Disconnected = Bluetooth icon off

Adding/Pairing a Remote Thermostat

  1. To pair the remote thermostat with the degrii smart thermostat, open the Degrii OS app and tap on your already installed smart thermostat. Tap the sensor icon at the top.

  2. Click the + button on the remote sensor you want pair from the “Ready to Pair” list.

Remote Sensor Settings

To make changes to a paired sensor or to view the sensor’s information:

Click on the sensor to access the Setting page.

  • a. Click Room Name to change the device room name.

  • b. Click Threshold Temperature to set hot/cold spot threshold for the remote sensor. When the temperature difference between the remote sensor and the smart thermostat reaches the threshold, the hot/cold spot settings will be used in controlling the remote sensor.

  • c. Click the Hot/Cold Spot to manage hot or cold spots.

  • i. Prioritize Savings – The remote sensor will be temporarily excluded from the whole house temperature averaging.
    This will allow you to save energy.

  • ii. Balanced – Your comfort and energy savings is taken into consideration in averaging the home temperature.

  • iii. Prioritize Comfort – The remote sensor will be included in temperature averaging to bring your room temperature within the threshold temperature.

Active Thermostat
All devices participating in comfort control are listed here. The temperatures of these devices are averaged and used to provide optimal comfort for the home.

Inactive Thermostat
Devices that are not participating in comfort control are listed here. The temperatures of these devices are excluded and not averaged.

Ready to Pair
All remote thermostats that have not been paired yet are listed here. These devices can be paired to the Degrii smart thermostat by clicking on the discovered device to pair it. The maximum number of remote sensors that can be paired to a smart thermostat is 12.

Offline
When the remote sensor is offline (because it is off or out of range), the room temperature and humidity appear blank as shown below.

How to use the Remote Thermostat

When holding the Degrii remote thermostat, please follow these instructions:

  1. Pay attention to the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the remote thermostat. These buttons are used to adjust the setpoint temperature of your Degrii smart thermostat after pairing the remote thermostat with it.
  2. To prevent accidental changes or factory resetting of the remote thermostat, be cautious when handling the side of the remote thermostat that is close to the buttons. This area is sensitive to touch, so avoid touching it unnecessarily.

How to Change Temperature

To increase or decrease the setpoint temperature of your Degrii smart thermostat using the remote sensor, please follow these instructions:

  1. Ensure that the remote sensor has been successfully paired with your smart thermostat. If you haven’t paired them yet, refer to the pairing guide provided to establish the connection.

  2. On the screen of the remote thermostat, you will see the room temperature displayed in the middle of the screen, and the humidity at the bottom of the screen.

  3. To change the temperature for the thermostat, double-tap either the plus (+) or minus (-) button on the remote thermostat.

  4. Once the room temperature is displayed at the bottom of the screen, you can adjust the setpoint temperature of your smart thermostat.
    a. To increase the setpoint temperature, tap the plus (+) button, and to decrease it, tap the minus (-) button.

  5. Please note that the maximum increase or decrease in temperature is limited to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

  6. After you have set your desired temperature, wait 3 seconds. You will notice the set temperature blinking rapidly, indicating that the new temperature setting is being transmitted to your smart thermostat. Once the blinking stops, the new setpoint temperature will take effect on the smart thermostat.

How to Factory Reset the Smart Sensor

To increase or decrease the setpoint temperature of your Degrii smart thermostat using the remote sensor, please follow these instructions:

  1. Press and hold the – and + buttons together for 6 secs. All icons will be displayed on the screen to show that the device has been unpaired.
  2. Release the buttons and check the bluetooth icon to confirm that the device has been unpaired.
    a. The Bluetooth icon keeps flashing to indicate ready to pair.

How to Change Temperature Units

To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units on the Smart Sensor, please follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the – button for 6 seconds.
  2. The temperature unit will change from Fahrenheit to Celsius or vice versa.
