Assembly Instructions

Disclaimer
This kit contains parts that have been specifically designed to support your vehicle’s body using magnets. With that being said it’s important that you refrain from bending and manipulating the parts since they are thin and have little support until the magnet is set into place. Once the magnets are installed, these parts will be plenty strong for this application. It should be noted that the magnets can fit a bit loosely within the mounts depending on the manufacturer’s dimensions. The mounts are designed with this in mind and will hold the magnet in place regardless of the difference in size.

Chassis Mount Installation

Rear Chassis Mount Installation
The first part that will be installed is the rear chassis mount. Start by taking the part and identifying the marking that is above where the magnet will sit. This marking will need to be pointed towards the rear of the chassis when it’s installed.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
1Next, take the 60x10x3mmmagnet and place it within the empty slot of the part (the orientation does not matter at this point however, orientation will need to be taken into consideration for the body mounts).REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
2After the magnet is placed into the mount, it can now be installed onto the chassis. Take your index finger and place it over the middle of the magnet and place your thumb over the middle of the flat side of the mount. Now pinch the parts together (this is to ensure that the magnet will not fall out during the installation process).REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic
Body Mounts - figure 3While holding the mount and the magnet together, take one side of the mount and align the clips with the hole which was previously used for the rear body posts. Remember to keep the marked portion of the mount facing towards the rear. With your free hand, apply equal pressure on the flat side of the mount opposite to where the clips are located until there is a click which indicates that the mount was seated properly. When installing the clips into the chassis it’s recommended to go slow.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 4While pressing down on the mount with your thumb you can now remove your index finger making sure that the magnet does not fall from the slot. At this point you can switch hands so that previous steps can be repeated to install the remaining clip.![REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts

First we will install the magnet into the front chassis mount. Take a 60x10x3mmmagnet and insert it into the empty slot of the mount. It’s best to start with the magnet pressing against the tab of the mount and sliding it until the tab overcomes the magnet as seen in the pictures below.REDCAT
RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 6After the magnet is properly seated, the mount can be installed onto the chassis. Start by locating the M3x8mm screws and the washers from the kit. This hardware will be used to secure the front chassis mount using the existing holes from the stock front body posts. Next examine the shape of the front chassis mount. It should be noted that on one side there is a flat surface which needs to be facing the front of the chassis when the mount is installed. With this in mind place the front mount in the orientation that matches the picture below. Align the posts of the front chassis mount with the holes on the chassis. Make sure that the front chassis mount is flush with the chassis.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
7Now place the washers onto the screws and drive them into the front chassis mount. Do not tighten them all the way just yet. Perform one last check to see if the mount matches the pictures seen above. If they do not match the pictures above then adjust them and tighten the screws. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!! This can cause the part to strip and jeopardize the holding strength of the mount.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure

Body Mount Installation

Rear Body Mount Installation
As stated in a prior section, the magnet orientation must now be accounted for since the magnets for the body and the chassis need to connect with each other. Start by taking a 60x10x3mmmagnet and placing it over the installed rear chassis mount. Make a note on what side the magnet attracts to (It’s recommended to mark the side that connects directly to the rear chassis mount with a permanent marker).REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
9With the magnet marked, place it into the empty slot of the rear body mount having the marked side facing towards where the screws will be installed.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
10Next, install the rear body magnet cover with the m3x5 button head screw. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!! This can cause the part to strip.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 11Check the mount to verify if the magnet was placed in the correct orientation. Take the mount with the magnet installed and place it on the rear chassis mount. If the rear chassis mount and the rear body mount repel each other, then the magnet will need to be flipped in the rear body mount. If they are attracted to each other, then move onto the next step.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 12Remove the three rear screws of the SixtyFour body which secures the original rear body mount to the bumper (make sure to keep all of the screws in a safe place since they will be used later in the installation process. If you do lose some do not worry there is extra body screws included in this kit).REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
13Now Install the rear body mount using the body mount screws. A picture of the installed rear body mount can be seen in the picture below.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 14 Front Body Mount Installation
Remove the three screws that hold the front body post to the front bumper (set the body mount screws aside they will be used to secure the new mount).REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure
15Next, install the front body mount with the screws while having the thin wall side facing away from the front bumper. Make sure that it matches the picture below.REDCAT RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts -

RER25989 Magnetic Body Mounts - figure 19Congratulations the mounts have been fully installed! When placing the SixtyFour body onto the chassis, attach the front first and swing the rear onto the chassis mount. To remove the body take the rear off first and swing it towards the front to take it off from the chassis mount. Make sure when the body is put on to the vehicle that the fenders clear the chassis.
