Product Usage Instructions
Single Color Lighting
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate in a single color (red, green, blue, or white), simply ground the corresponding wire color.
- For example, to set the light to green only ground the green wire.
Two Color Lighting
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate with two colors, connect the selected color wiring to a 3-position switch.
- For example, to achieve a blue-white configuration, connect the blue and white wires to the switch.
Full RGBW Lighting
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate with the full-color spectrum, connect all wires to a Shadow-Caster lighting controller.
- In this example, the connection is made to the Single Zone Lighting Controller (SCM-SZ-RGB).
- However, it could also be connected to the Light Commander series controllers (SCM-LC-N2K series).
Mounting Instructions
- Find a flat spot to mount the CLX Courtesy Light.
- Print the mounting template and tape it to your preferred mounting location.
- Drill the pilot holes and center holes according to the dimensions specified in the template.
- Apply a marine sealant around the base and mounting hardware.
- Use Perma-Seal connectors for the wiring.
- Install the stainless steel cover by snapping it into place over the top of the courtesy light to conceal the mounting hardware.

LIGHT OUTPUT PATTERN
- The Shadow-Caster® CLX Courtesy Light provides an extra wide 160° angle of illumination to efficiently light your boat’s steps, coves, shelves, compartments, and work areas.
OPERATION, WIRING & USE SCHEMATICS
- The CLX RGBW has four independent color channels: red, green, blue, and a true 6000 Kelvin CCT white.
- Depending on the desired application, the light can be used as a single-color light, a two-color light with a switch, or used with Shadow-Caster® lighting controllers for dimming and full-color control.
SINGLE COLOR LIGHTING
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate in a single color (red, green, blue, or white), simply ground the corresponding wire color.
- This example shows the green wire is grounded, fixing the color to green only.
TWO COLOR LIGHTING
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate with two colors, connect the selected color wiring to a 3-position switch.
- This example shows a blue-white configuration.
FULL RGBW LIGHTING
- To set the CLX Courtesy Light to illuminate with the full-color spectrum, connect all wires to a Shadow-Caster lighting controller.
- This example shows the connection to the Single Zone Lighting Controller (SCM-SZ-RGB). A connection could instead be made to the Light Commander series controllers (SCM-LC-N2K series).
