Camera viewing setup tips
Vertical-viewing setup (as shown in figure 1)
- For ice fishing applications, this vertical-viewing setup is very helpful while fishing in shallow water. You can rig the camera for fishing and live view within the same hole when ice fishing.
- For open water applications, this vertical-viewing setup is ideal for other vertical applications, such as inspecting the bottom of the river. Fishes usually like to dwell near the bottom. Simply drop the camera into the water to view the bottom of the river and the weight of the camera will keep the camera down while the boat is drifting or slow-trolling.
Horizontal-viewing (as shown in figure2)
- For ice fishing applications, this horizontal-viewing setup is used as a search tool. Drill a series of holes through the ice, drop the camera down each hole in search for the best spot. Once you’ve located the fishing spot, drill a hole 2 or 3 feet away from the hole you’re actually going to fish in. Set the camera on the ice and lower the camera down the second hole.
- For open-water applications, this horizontal-viewing setup is used as a tool to locate fish in a larger area! Simply drop the camera into the water to search for the fish and keep the camera looking forward while the boat is drifting or slow-trolling.

About 3.3ft of visibility is sufficient for underwater viewing in very clear water.

The lights in the camera are designed for use in low-light conditions. Turn the lights on for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
How do I steer the Eyoyo EF07 Underwater Fishing Camera?
Set up the camera in a Horizontal-viewing way, and then hold the camera AV cable and troll it at a slow speed (less than 2 mph). The camera will face the boat's direction of travel. If you are facing and moving forward, so will the camera.
How fast can I troll with my Eyoyo EF07 Underwater Fishing Camera?
It depends on depth, and also on the length of cable you have out. Generally, for optimal viewing, we recommend going less than 2 miles per hour. The deeper you go, with more cable out, the more water resistance there will be from the camera. So that requires slower travel for good viewing.
If the Eyoyo EF07 Underwater Fishing Camera becomes hung up, what to do?
If the camera becomes hung up, back up from the direction you were traveling from and slowly try to back the camera out of the snag. DO NOT pull directly upward with force unless all other avenues have been pursued.
Can I use Eyoyo EF07 Underwater Fishing camera system in saltwater?
Yes. All cameras are saltwater-rated, and constructed with stainless steel hardware and materials that are impervious to corrosion. We recommend rinsing salt water off the camera using clean water and a soft cloth after every use.
Will my Eyoyo EF07 Underwater Fishing Camera unit work in cold weather conditions?
Cameras are designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -10 to 120 degrees F. But its battery life might decrease in cold conditions.
