EXPED Tarp Poncho
Use
- The etachable waist cord ensures protection in windy conditions: close snaps throughout sides and sling cord around waist (Fig. 1).
- Carefully positioned snaps allow for a universal, one size design even when carrying a large pack.
- To create a waterproof bivy bag (Fig. 2), fold Bivy-Poncho; then connect the double-sided snap buttons . Intermittent snap placement allows air to circulate for condensation reduction.
- To create an A-frame shelter, simply support Bivy-Poncho over a line strung between two fixed points and secure the corners (Fig. 2). To build a pyramid-like shelter, support closed hood with trekking pole, paddle, wooden stick or even lashed backpack staves.
Care
- Dry the poncho thoroughly before prolonged storage to prevent mold and mildew.
- Clean with cold water in a hand wash using a brush.
Storage
Be sure to store poncho unpacked in a dry and cool area otherwise mildew can develop or the PU coating can disintegrate (hydrolysis).
