Intended use
The Chin Control Harness is intended for the mechanical mounting of a joystick on the chest of the user. This way the user can control an electrical wheelchair by chin. The control is operable in different sitting positions and can be adapted for the individual user. The combination of a mo-vis joystick with this harness, allows the user to operate all functions of the electrical wheelchair by chin.
The M013-61 Chin Control Harness L consists of several elements:
A | M013-50 Harness Assy Mechanical Parts |
---|---|
B | M013-60 Harness Base L |
C | M004-53 Q2M Harness Frame Mounting Set |
A1 | M013-55 Harness Assy Fixation Bracket |
NOTE : A second M013-55 is included in the set as we like to give you the opportunity to place the joystick safely to the side or back of the wheelchair when you are not using it.
To make sure that the device maintains its functionality, regular cleaning is required. See Cleaning on page 16 .
Features
The harness has an aluminum interior. This means that it can be bent to fit the shape of the user. You can use a round tube to create the first curve in the harness and work from there to find the perfect fit.
CAUTION : Bending the aluminum core structure of the harness too often or with too much force could lead to reduced functionality.
The joystick on the harness can easily be removed when you are not using it.
CAUTION : Make sure that no body parts or cables get pinched when placing the M013-55 Harness Assy Fixation Bracket.
As an additional M013-55 Harness Assy Fixation Bracket is included, you can easily ‘park’ the joystick on the side or the back of the wheelchair. The straps can be adjusted for a comfortable fit.
The M013-55 Harness Assy Fixation Bracket can be mounted in different slots in the harness base. See a few examples:
Operation
NOTE : Before you begin, check if the package and its content are intact and that they didn’t get damaged during transport.
During first time use by the user, it is advised that the dealer or service engineer assists and explains the different possibilities to the user and/or his attendant. If needed, the dealer can make final adjustments.
CAUTION : It is important that the customer is fully aware of the installation, how to use it and what can be adjusted to optimize his/her experience. Use proper tools to install and adjust the device. The use of improper tools may cause damage to the device. Do not tighten the screws with excessive force.
Place the harness on the chest of the user. Make sure that it is attached
firmly. Mount the joystick on it with the dedicated mounting parts (see Parts
and accessories on page 14).
Check whether cables or parts may not get damaged or hindered in any possible
position of the wheelchair.
